Belenos Skin Botanique: Repair Serum & Feng Shui Love Body Oil

I first discovered gorgeous and very affordable Belenos Skin Botanique in my February #PureBliss Skin Organics Clean Beauty Box (REVIEW). Inside was their amazing Repair Serum (50ml) which my skin is loving. It's an absolute steal at only £9. The whole range is very, very reasonably priced (I went onto buy the luxe Feng Shui Love Body Oil (also £9 for 100ml). These are products which will be making my best of '19 for sure - totally gorgeous, exciting and very effective (I've since placed another order).

Repair Serum is a skin loving blend which is ideal for mature and damaged skin. Formulated with oils which will repair, hydrate and deeply nourish. The scent of the oil is just incredible - soothing and uplifting at the same time (Rose, Frankincense and Neroli). 

To use: apply 3 to 5 drops on your fingertips and massage onto clean skin.

It's such a beautiful oil which I SO recommend. My skin's glowy and radiant with fine lines and wrinkles reduced and it feels healthy and nourished. It's love for sure!

Paula, founder at Skin Organics Clean Beauty Box very kindly sent me a decant of Feng Shui Love Body Oil which I fell head over heels for and rushed out to buy! I loved getting a little try me sample of their Clay Cleansing Melt with my order. 

Feng Shui Love Body Oil is simply one of the nicest body care products I've ever used. It's a rich blend of skin conditioning Wheatgerm, Apricot, Sunflower, Rosehip Seed oils and Vitamin E along with the exquisite scent of Orange (neroli) Blossom and is total luxury. 

To use: apply to the body after a bath or shower as a body oil or for massage. It can also be used as a bath oil. Again, totally in love.

Blog Tour: Runaway by Claire MacLeary

Today me and Jen are kicking off the blog tour for the fabulous Runaway by Claire MacLeary* which is a #LoveBookGroupsTour. This is the third book in the series and it's absolutely brilliant. I read the first two books last month and you can see my reviews in my book round-up HERE. I totally warmed to the unlikely duo of Maggie and 'Big' Wilma. Runaway could be read as a standalone but you get a flavour of the duo if you read Cross Purpose & Burnout first. *I received a free copy of the book for review.

"When Aberdeen housewife Debbie Milne abruptly vanishes without trace, leaving behind her two young children, husband Scott is too distraught to sit out the police's 72-hour window and await developments. He turns to local detective agency Harcus & Laird.

Put off by previous "domestic" cases, Maggie Laird isn't keen, but is cajoled by partner Wilma Harcus into a covert operation. Together they comb through meagre scraps of information, eventually trawling the city's women's refuges and homeless squats, in spite of the deadly danger.

Then a woman's body is discovered in a Dundee builder's skip. With the clock ticking and the police struggling to make identification, the race is on. Claire MacLeary fashions a surprising, gritty, fast-paced tale with the warmth and wisdom of ‘women of a certain age'".

My thoughts?

Oh it was so nice to catch up with Maggie & 'Big' Wilma again - you have no idea! 

Debbie Milne's husband phones the police in a panic to say his wife has gone missing. He's absolutely distraught when he learns he's got to wait 72 hours just in case she turns up. He's got two kids at home desperate to see their mum.

Brian still holds a torch for Maggie even though she's not over the death of her husband George. Maggie meanwhile is still fighting to clear her husband's name and hopes DI Chisholm will be true to his word and help her take things upstairs. 

Kirsty is back from Uni and gets a job as a cocktail waitress. She lasts a few days and flares up at Maggie when she asks what went wrong. Meanwhile her son Colin is keen to make amends.

Scott Milne finds he can't wait for the Police and calls in the services of Harcus & Laird to find his wife... what follows is a humorous and sometimes downright dangerous search by Maggie and 'big' Wilma. Which takes them to women's refuges (where Wilma finds she knows one of the women there who passes on a snippet of information which will mean something to Maggie), to homeless squats and searches in the field on their own which could lead to dire consequences..

It turns out a childhood friend of Debbie's has come back into her life and shown her the high life of nights out with dinners and cocktails in the company of interested and attractive men. Sam has always lived on the edge and Debbie's totally drawn in especially as her own life's routine has been getting her down. Tayside Police are alerted to a body in a skip and Police Scotland in Aberdeen are on tenderhooks until it's been identified...

Brian hopes for something more with Maggie but realises her kids will always come first.  She wishes she could feel for him half of the attraction and sparks which fly when DI Chisholm is around!

As ever, the Private Investigators seem one step ahead of the police although Maggie lefts something slip that they don't know when she meets Chisholm for a drink. 

Kirsty's pal from Uni Shaz turns out for a visit and is freaked out by something he's seen and Maggie & 'big' Wilma waste no time in thoroughly questioning him.  it also seems that Colin has found himself a girlfriend and Maggie finds her kids are moving on and growing up.

Both Maggie and 'big' Wilma get in a spot of bother more than once in the course of the case and due to smart thinking and in Maggie's case a spot of help from Brian they come out the other side.  When the Harcus & Laird help to solve the investigation Maggie feels pride tinged with frustration. 'Big' Wilma on the other hand feels like it's been total team work and a result which must be celebrated large!

The story covers people trafficking, gambling, money laundering and gangs and is a fast paced and sometimes humorous story with lots of tense and downright scary moments. I absolutely loved it! Roll on book #4.

*gifted/sample It's always an exciting day when my Love Lula Beauty Box* lands and this month it's worth an incredible £70 and again this month they are offering subscribers a very generous 25% off brands in the box. I've a feeling I might be picking a few things up!

There are two make up items nestling there! There's also another lip balm (we got one last month) but I don't mind as I love the Hurraw! brand and haven't tried their luscious Almond Lip Balm before (full size - £4.99).

From new to me brand Sarya Couture Makeup is a single eyeshadow in Mocha which is another full size item and worth £17.80. From Inika we have their Liquid Eyeliner in Black (£19).

Also inside is a full size Madara Deep Moisture Gel for Oily skin types (£28) which is suitable for Oily/Combo skins so will be ideal for me. I'm looking forward to trying it.

The final item is a trio of sachets from ZUII Organic. I know sachets in beauty boxes as an item is disliked by many but I'm a huge fan of sachet samples and have fallen head over heels for a product from a couple of goes.

Beauty Pie: Month #3

This month it's my third month with the Beauty Pie subscription (see what I picked month #1 HERE and month #2 HERE.

I chose Everyday Skin Foundation again (150 Shell) (£6.96) as I simply love it. The colour is spot on and I love the buildable texture. It's a winner for me.

My second pick was Super Pore Detox Black Clay Mask (£7.33) which I'm looking forward to testing out on my oily t-zone.

And finally, much lauded Super Stem Cell Moisture Shot Serum (£7.57) which I picked mainly because of the good reviews.

This month's basket cost £25.22+£10.00 membership = £35.22 and is worth an incredible £150!

Now to decide whether to keep my membership going or not...I do however want to try their Super Healthy Skin Amazing Sleep Oil and Fruitizyme Five Minute Facial so I might keep it on for another month or two.

*Isla Apothecary: Body Exfoliant+Balm, Skin Balm & Skin Purifying Mud

*gifted You'll know I'm a huge fan of Isla Apothecary's Neroli Body Oil (REVIEW) and it featured in my Collaboration with Skin Organics Clean Beauty Box for their first Birthday box last year - Beauty Balm Curates.. (see HERE). I've been testing out some of their newer launches - Body Exfoliant+Balm, Skin Balm and Skin Purifying Mud.

Body Exfoliant+Balm replaces Blood Orange+Vanilla Sugar Scrub and is a luscious revitalising blend scented with Citrus, Mint and Woods and has a delicious mousse like texture which melts onto the skin (and is a joy to use). 

Organic Raw Cane Sugar and Papaya Extract gently buff the skin removing dead skin cells and conditioning. Shea Butter, Coconut and Peach Kernel Oils along with Vitamin E moisturise and heal. 

To use: massage onto damp skin in the shower. Leaves the skin nourished and smooth.

Skin Balm is formulated with pure cold pressed fruit, nut and plant oils which nourish and protect the skin. The balm has a slightly herbal/floral scent which comes from the in-house olive oil infused Calendula petals. Skin Balm soothes irritated skin, bites, wounds and burns and can also be used to remove make up and nourish the skin.

To use: apply a small amount to the affected area to soothe, calm and nourish.

Skin Purifying Mud can be used as a mask or exfoliant and it balances, detoxes and purifies the skin. Formulated with anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory and skin toning ingredients such as Raspberry Leaf, Yarrow, Rosehip, compounds from lemon balm and orris root which help to absorb excess oil and impurities. 

To use: blend to a paste with hydrosol or water before applying to the skin.

I've been really impressed with all three products (I was a Blood Orange+Vanilla Sugar Scrub fan and can honestly say I love it's replacement). What's your favourite product(s) from Isla Apothecary?

*Beatitude Revitalise Night Oil

*gifted I've had the real pleasure of trying one of Beatitude's latest launches - their REVITALISE Night Oil (30ml - £38) which is simply glorious. It's packed full of good things for the skin and the scent is incredible - uplifting, calming and so sunny and cheering. 

The blend is formulated with Petitgrain, Bergamot and Mandarin essential oils along with skin nurturing oils of Raspberry Seed, Pomegranate Seed, Passion Flower, Rosehip, Sea Buckthorn, Squalane, Calendula, Oat and Wheatgerm.

It really is a treat for the skin and senses and leaves the skin deeply nourished with a healthy and radiant glow. 

To use: apply at night-time to face, neck and decollete. Use alone or under night cream.

It's one of the nicest facial oils I've tried so far this year (it also comes in a 10ml trial size at £14). Pick yours up HERE.

2019 Beauty Shortlist Awards: Beauty & Wellbeing - My Top Picks

I was really honoured to be a Beauty Shortlist - Beauty & Wellbeing Awards Judge* again this year. You can see my top picks last year HERE. It was so exciting checking out the Winners/Finalists/Editor's Choice and Commended Winners on 1st March. You can see the whole list HERE.

The following are products which I simply adored which made the grade as Winners & Finalists:

NK Naturals Beautiful Healing Cleansing Balm was a Finalist in the Best Multi-Tasking Balm category. Check out my review HERE.

I totally fell head over heels for Eminence Organic's Wildflower Cleansing balm which picked up a Finalist Award for Best Cleansing Balm. I also adored their Award Winning Best Exfoliating Cleanser, Mangosteen Daily Resurfacing Cleanser which smelled good enough to eat! I definitely want to explore this brand more.

Picking up several awards was Anne Semonin Paris which scooped Best Skincare Brand 40+, Best Serum (with Bodhi & Birch) and Best Day/Best Night Serum. Their Precious Serum really is a beautiful product which was a joy to use.

Inner Senses picked up Best Face Oil 40+ for their Deep Blue C Facial Oil which my combo skin loved.

Discovering brands I've never heard of before always makes my heart sing. I adored BRUNS 14 Hair Souffle which picked an award as one of the Best Hair Products. It's got a delicious minty scent and leaves the hair looking super smooth and healthy. I also loved their 03 Balsam unscented Conditioner which was joint winner in Best Hair Conditioner category.

I just adored Danish brand o.Moi and fell head over heels for their Neroli Face Cream which won in the Best Day Moisturiser category.

Every single AYUNA product I tried I loved. They scooped Best Natural/Organic Brand International (Spain). The products & packaging is simply stunning and one of the best brands I've ever used.

I'd have given AMLY's Sleep Tight Rejuvenating Face Balm an 11/10 if I could. An absolutely gorgeous sleep inducing potion which melted instantly onto the skin. It won a Finalist award for Best Night Balm.

Again, from Inner Senses, their Awakening Mediative Body Oil which is a beautiful floral oil won Best Body Oil and again, from o.Mio I adored their Respire Yogi Body Oil which won a Finalist award in the Best Aromatherapy Product (Body) category.

ARK Skincare won Best Body Serum for their richly floral Body Beautiful Conditioning Serum (lush) and Greenfrog picked up Best Hand Wash for their Geranium & Peppermint Hand Wash.

Every AYUNA product I tried I loved! The brand is just amazing and scooped Best Natural/Organic Brand - International.

My skin just loved Beeutiful Skincare and especially their Frankincense & Rose Body Balm which won a Finalist award for Best Body Balm. They also won Best Bee Beauty Brand Award.

The final Winner in my top picks is Rosalena for their luscious Lip Conditioner which comes with it's own little brush. It picked up Best Lip Therapy.

*PHB Ethical Beauty: New Skin Perfector Bio-Gel with Aloe, Rose & Sea Buckthorn

The brand is affordable, effective, packaging is recyclable as well as gorgeous, the products smell glorious and the company give a portion of profits to charity. I've been testing out one of their new Skin Perfector Bio-Gels with Aloe, Rose & Sea Buckthorn (50ml - £25)*. 

The Skin Perfector Bio-Gel blends organic Aloe Vera, Pure Rose Oil & Sea Buckthorn into a skin quenching gel which absorbs instantly, feels deeply nourishing and has a gorgeous rosy scent.  It really has the wow factor.

It'll nourish along with helping to reducing irritation and redness, minimise stretch marks, heal and cool the skin (I'll be packing it on my next beach holiday...if I've any left by then!) it also has an instant temporary tightening effect and it can be used on the face or body to moisturise and soothe.

Sandwick Bay Candles: Subscription Corner: March: Blood Orange

I picked my Sandwick Bay Candles Subscription Corner Box from the post office on a cold and dark Edinburgh morning on the latter half of last week. It fair lifted my spirits. The scent this month is Blood Orange and inside is a deliciously slightly sweet-slightly bitter uplifting orange scented candle. It's a beauty and I'm excited to spend March with it!

Shopping My Stash #104

I was lucky enough to try Danish brand, o.Moi* as a Beauty Shortlist Judge and I totally fell head over heels for the brand. One of my favourite products was their glorious Respire Body Oil which was a Beauty Shortlist Wellbeing Awards 2019 Finalist - and that award is very well deserved.  The body oil can be used in association with yoga practice or just as a gorgeous body oil or for massage. It feels luxurious on the skin and has the most amazing floral, slightly herbal scent. It's love! 

I've been testing out one of Isla Apothecary's newer products, their Skin Purifying Mud* which can be used as an exfoliant or mask and it will cleanse, purify and balance the skin. It's perfect for combo/acne skins and my oily T-zone has been loving this very effective mask. I'm going to be doing a full review very soon.

I love new lip balms and Crazy Rumors, while having been on the radar for ages I hadn't tried up until I received their delicious Hot Cocoa flavour* in February's Love Lula Beauty Box*. The balm deeply nourishes and smells of sweet cocoa.

Weleda's Evening Primrose Age Revitalising Concentrate 30ml* is perfect for ageing skin and it's the product I'm currently reaching for. It'll help with cell renewal and elasticity smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles. My skin is looking more radiant and glowy. A full review will be up very soon.

I've tried a few of Love Lula's Walden Perfumes and "Castles in the Air" is one of my favourites. I love the calming lavender, floral and citrus notes with a touch of exotic Ylang Ylang.

Yarok Feed your Style Dry Shampoo Mini which I'm loving. I'm trying to wash my hair less and have found this to absorb grease while giving my hair a fuller look (with no white residue).

The Organic Pharmacy Rose Balm

I received this gorgeous The Organic Pharmacy Rose Balm in my Content Beauty x Psychologies Real Beauty & Wellbeing Box A. See my thoughts on the set HERE. This balm is worth £28 (10ml) and is the perfect size to pop in your bag for rosy scented nourishment on the go! There are currently still a few boxes left in the sale at a bargainous £65 for 14 full size item/luxury trial size and 2 x teabags. It really is an amazing set.

Rose Balm is multi-use (one of my favourite kinds of products) and it will repair and nourish. Use it on dry skin patches, lips, elbows, knees, feet, nails and flyaways. 

Formulated with seven super plant oils including Argan, Pomegranate Seed, Rosehip and Calendula. 

To use: using the fingertips apply where needed for rosy nourishment. I simply love it as it's nice to use, hydrating, uplifting and has a glorious rosy scent.

Review: PHB Ethical Beauty

#gifted PHB Ethical Beauty have recently re-branded and some of the product's formulations have been tweaked. As you'll know I'm a huge fan of this brand which gives back and cares for the environment. 

I've been testing two* products - NEW Conditioner & Detangler with Oat Milk & Argan Oil (unfragranced) (£12 - 300ml) and NEW Superfood Face Wash with Vitamin C and Kojic Acid (£20 - 100ml). The new packaging is recyclable apart from the lids and pumps.

The Conditioner & Detangler with Oat Milk & Argan Oil has a light creamy texture and a mild scent. Nourishing Coconut Oil, Oatmilk and Argan Oil are whipped together to a creamy lightweight formula which nourishes and hydrates while strengthening and softening.

To use: apply to mid lengths and ends and comb through before rinsing.

I've been really enjoying using this product. It does exactly what it says it will and leaves my hair soft and healthy looking. 

Superfood Brightening Face Wash with Vitamin C and Kojic Acid comes in a pump action glass bottle. It gently cleanses the skin removing daily grime and impurities and has a gorgeous neroli scent. It'll brighten, helping with dullness and the first signs of ageing. 

To use: massage a small amount onto damp skin before rinsing.

I've been enjoying using this lightly foaming cleanser in my morning shower as the scent is really uplifting and my skin feels clean and comfortable after use.

February's box (2018) was entitled "Love Yourself" inside there were three new to me products (although I knew the brands), one product I'd tried before and one completely new brand, Seed of Life Holistic Health Eternal Rose Bathing Salts (which I loved).

Inside is their All in one Balm which is scented with Neroli (lush). I love Amanda's gorgeous products and her A.S Apothecary Body Elixir #33 is just amazing - see my review HERE.

October's theme is "Unwind" and inside were 3 new to me brands (happy face). I'd just recently discovered No Secrets Beauty as a Beauty Shortlist Judge but thought it was a great addition to the box (I personally loved this new to me brand). I must admit I pretty much loved everything in this box!

Coming into November the theme was "Sweet Dreams" and again it was a box which wowed me. I've not really played much with these yet but expect reviews soon.
