SoukSouk September Beauty Box

My SoukSouk box arrived on Wednesday.  I love the fact that I've not tried a single thing before! If you pay monthly it costs £12 plus £2.95 P&P.  You can see the payment plans here.

So what's inside:

Full Size Nourish Smoothing Hand Lotion 100ml (£12) - I can never have enough hand creams or lip balms. Not tried much from Nourish - so this is a welcome addition in the box.  A 94% organic certified hand lotion made with aloe vera, shea, sunflower and borage oils and scented with orange and mandarin.

Konjac Puff Sponge (£6.99) - another item which I am excited about. A 100% natural vegetable fibre sponge. Can be used for cleansing, exfoliating and removing make up. I like that when you've finished with it you can recycle it on the compost heap (after approximately 2-3 months use).

Gwdihw Vanilla Lip Balm 25g (£4.49) and Gwdihw Nail Wizard Hand Balm 25g (£4.49) - have heard of this brand but not used any of the products. Both smell gorgeous!

Glow Skincare Rose & Macadamia Face Cream - sample pot - another brand I've not heard of. This cream smells divine. Looking forward to trying it out! The product is fresh, organic and hand made to order.

Box Bonus - a mini Green & Black's Butterscotch Milk Chocolate.

The magazine also mentions that Souk Souk are now offering Limited Edition boxes, Bespoke boxes and an online shop - see here. You also get to see inside Editor Victoria's make up bag.

Souk Souk May Box

My May Souk Souk box came the other day. It contains:

Green People Moisturising Shower Gel 30ml - this smells great - it is scented with orange blossom and is 84% organic.  I have used this shower gel before and loved it.

Green People Nurture Body Lotion 30ml - a light and easily absorbed lotion which is scented with bergamot. 91% organic.  Looking forward to trying this.

Dr Bronner's 18-in-1 Rose Pure Castile Soap 59ml - I love Dr Bronner's soap - my favourite scents are Peppermint and Almond.  I've got a couple of the rose ones to use.

Inika Brow Pencil in Brunette Beauty - this is a full size product and is worth £13.50.

Balm Balm Fragrance Free Lip Balm 7ml - another full size product. I love the Rose Geranium balm.  Can be used on the lips, face, body and feet.  Retails at £3.50.

I didn't find this an exciting box (my heart sort of sank when I opened it) as I've either used the products before or used other products from all the brands.  I was hoping SoukSouk would introduce me to brands I haven't used before.  I do think it is a great beauty box for those just starting to use natural products as it is great value - this box contains two full size products.

I have cancelled my subscription for now but I'll keep checking out the Facebook page for new brands/products.

Souk Souk costs £12 per month plus £2.95 P&P.

SoukSouk April Box

My April Souksouk beauty box arrived on Wednesday.  SoukSouk offers natural and green beauty products.  Boxes cost £12.00 plus P&P on a month to month basis.  A six month subscription costs £60 plus P&P (one box free) and a twelve month subscription £120 plus P&P (two boxes free and a gift worth £15).  Oh so tempted to sign up for the year!

The box comes with a little green magazine which is really informative and a great read.  You also receive a rolled up paper scroll - this is your product info and it lists what's in the box.

I am super happy with the selection - I will enjoy using everything April's box contains.

Essential Care Lemon & Tea Tree Facial Wash 30ml (£6) - I'm a huge fan of Essential Care products so happy to try this.  Suitable for normal to oily/combination and acne prone skin types.  I haven't found an Essential Care product I don't like yet.

John Masters Organics Blood Orange & Vanilla Body Wash & Body Milk (both 30ml) - I received these in April's Amarya box.  A huge fan of John Masters - these deliciously scented products will be added to my travel bag.

Balm Balm Mandarin EDP 12ml spray (£15) - a simply gorgeous 100% organic single note scent which can be worn alone or mixed with other single notes for a unique perfume blend - see here for more info.  I've got a sample of the ylang ylang single note scent I bought previously which I'm sure will be fab with mandarin.

Bomb Cosmetics Cooler Shaker Bath Creamer 30g (£2.09) - I've not used Bomb Cosmetics before.  Made with shea butter, cranberry & lime fragrance with essential oils of lime and basil.  Smells beautiful and looks really cute.

Spending Ban - Update 11

Uh-oh my spending ban went completely off the rails in week 11 and I think it's now time to end it.  Ahhh...  I lasted 70 odd days with a few splurges - a lot less than I'd normally be treating myself to though.

I've been enjoying shopping my stash every week - so I'm going to keep doing this.  Here is what I bought during the spending ban period -

In Style Magazine for the beauty supplement in Week 3.

Sweet Cecily's Rose Body Butter and Mojito Lip Balm.  See my review here.  I bought these in Week 4.

In Week 6 I bought the Caudalie Set from Latest in Beauty and two Remedy..for organic body butter bars and an April Beautylishious bag (which I've still to receive).

See my review of the Remedy...for Organic Body Butters here.

In Week 7 I bought Good Housekeeping magazine which were giving away a free Balance Me Hand Cream and Marie Claire magazine which were giving away a Neal's Yard Bee Lovely Hand Cream.  These are both worth £10.

In Week 8 I bought a copy of Psychologies magazine.

Week 9 saw me really caving when I bought Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm and the LIB Organic & Natural Box.  You can see my reviews here and here.

In Week 10 I bought Botanicals Anti-Age Hand & Nail Serum and two try-me size pots of cleanser and foot balm (you can get the try me sizes for free just paying p&p).  Reviews to follow.  I also bought a April SoukSouk little green beauty box.

Finally Week 11, I bought Beaute Chinoise Beauty Tea - a Oolong infused with organic rose.  It sounds simply delicious.  Still to receive this.  I'll be doing a mini review on it and of course my M&S and Boots haul.

I'm quite relieved to have ended my Spending Ban.  It was an interesting experiment and I know I buy too many beauty products.  I'll do a post later this week listing my "Wants" from the 11 weeks - and letting you know which ones I'm going to buy at some point.

How is your Spending Ban coming along?

Spending Ban - Update 10

Again I've had two splurges this week.  I signed up to a new green beauty box SoukSouk which costs £12.00 plus £2.95 P&P.  You can also subscribe for 6 months (£60 plus P&P) or a year (£120 plus P&P).  The April box looks fantastic and a bonus is I'll use everything the box contains.

On Friday after reading Ana's review a 10ml bottle of Botanicals Anti-Ageing Hand & Nail Serum slipped into my basket.  I also picked up a "free" duo of mini samples of Rose & Camellia Cleansing Melt (5g) and Mint & Tea Tree Foot Balm (5g). (you can also pick these freebies up separately paying £1.95 postage).

Onto my wants:

Willow Organic Relaxation Box - £25 - Jasmine & Geranium Bath Oil, candle and natural soap.  I've used these products once before (I received this beautiful set as a birthday gift) and loved them.  Great for pampering and smells gorgeous.

By Terry Cellularose Brightening Serum £75 - adds luminosity to the skin, brightens, adds radiance and evens out skintone.  It sounds totally luxurious!

Serena Linley Iris & Jasmine Bath Essence 15ml - £15 - you know I adore bath oils so this sounds just gorgeous.  See the website here.

Chanel Poudre Universelle Compacte Pressed Powder £36 - needing a new powder and love Chanel's luxe packaging and make up. I think I'll buy this with my birthday money.

Giorgio Armani Rose D'Arabie EDP 100ml - £190 - with notes of rose, saffron, patchouli, woods and amber.  Fancied this scent for a while now but just too expensive.  Nice to dream though!

Acqua di Parma Iris Noble Perfumed Soaps 3 x 100g £40 - I am a sucker for beautifully perfumed soaps and these sound pure luxury.  I've tried the perfume and its gorgeous.

Stila Colour Balm Lipstick £16 - Amelia &  Ruby Shades. Fully pigmented shades with a nourishing balm texture.

How is your spending ban going?  Have you used any of these products?
