Holiday: Miami Memories

You can see my initial post on our amazing holiday in Miami HERE. I've definitely got a case of the holiday blues and want to be back there right now!

We walked a lot (2 blocks to the beach) and also used the amazing free, yes free trolley bus to get around South Beach which was great when everything was really expensive.

Of course I paid several visits to Sephora and another couple of beauty shops but didn't really buy much. The brands I was looking for didn't seem to be available in the area we were and didn't really have time or the wheels to go downtown. I did of course pick up a Sephora set.

We ate out at some great places although struggled to find just a pub in South Beach (we came across several good ones on our trip to Key West).

News Cafe on Ocean Drive did the best breakfasts/brunches. Thanks to Sunny in London for the recommendation. I ate these pancakes 3 times! Delicious!

The food at Yardbird was amazing (we went twice and I ate Watermelon with Farmer's Cheese twice as it was so lush!) Other dishes we enjoyed were Fried Green Tomatoes and Chicken 'n' Watermelon 'n' Waffles and Cornbread with whipped butter oh and I nearly forgot the donuts - maple glazed with bacon! Bad but so good!

Another place we went twice was Stiltsville Fish Bar which served deliciously fresh and tasty food. Check out the Fish of the Day Po'Boy with Watermelon Pickles (yup, I had these twice) and Burger with Lobster (I kept forgetting chips = crisps and fries are fries/chips). One of hubby's top meals was their Surf & Turf basket with bayleaf and lime crusted fried chicken and spicy fish wings and mine was that fresh salad with crabcake, simple but oh so, so good! Oh and the Key Lime Pie was yummy.

I also loved the hand scrub available to use in the restroom and buy in the restaurant.

We also loved Little Havana and World Famous Ball & Chain Mojitos! We stopped here during a bus tour and meant to go back!

We also had a delicious cocktail at The Gale but the staff were really rude to us (first and only time on holiday) so we drank up and left!

Wynwood is a great up-and-coming district downtown with great bars and restaurants and the Wynwood Walls. Would recommend it if you are visiting the area.

We drove down to beautiful Key West in a Camaro convertible with the roof down! Due to a mix up with the car hire and trying to find Ulta we arrived a bit later than expected and didn't have much time there.

Christmas wreath goals! Just beautiful. We had an amazing holiday! This year has a lot to live up to!

What are your holiday plans this year?

Blog Highlights 2018

Last year I did a month by month highlights. See HERE. With being away for two weeks in December (Miami, here's looking at you!) I haven't really had the time to do do a month by month review. This year I'm picking magical moments to share which occurred throughout the year.

I was absolutely over-the-moon to collaborate with Paula, at Skin Organics Clean Beauty Box in May for their 1st Birthday Box. The theme was Beauty Balm Curates... which was so much fun to do and an absolute honour. See the contents and my review HERE.

Inside was a range of products (including an edible) which I'd found to be hard working and lovely products to use (the links are to my reviews) - A.S Apothecary Wild Beauty Balm Concentrate #30Lucky Cloud Nourishing Cleansing BalmBodhi & Birch Desert Rose Facial Oil, a sample of Botany Blend MERU Face OilIsla Apothecary Neroli Body OilTherapie Himalyan Detox Salts and Just Be Loved Dark Choc with rose oil & rose petals.

I love being one of Love Lula's Accredited Bloggers*. Through the program I've discovered some amazing brands such as Kathleen Naturals (REVIEW), NĀDŪR (REVIEW), ZOJO Beauty Elixirs (REVIEW), Planted (REVIEW) and Natura Siberica (REVIEW) to name a few.

In 2018 I was a Beauty Shortlist Awards Judge which was an absolute honour. I was delighted when Fiona asked me to take part again for the 2019 Awards (I'm currently testing out a wide range of beautiful products for the Awards - the results will be live on Friday 1 March 2019). See my top picks from the 2018 Awards HERE.

I'm currently taking a Formula Botanica course, which I'm behind with due to the day job and other things. I'm planning on finishing it early next year (hopefully) and I'll share with you my creations along the way. See my posts about it HEREHERE and HERE.

Both me and my husband celebrated big Birthdays this year and I spend 4 sunny April days in Jersey (Channel Islands) celebrating mine. And, for hubby's we had 2 amazing weeks in Miami in December! I'll be doing some posts on Miami but you can see my first one HERE.

Holiday: Miami

As some of you may know I've been on holiday the last two weeks basking in the balmy warm sunshine in Miami, Florida. We went for my hubby's 50th birthday. He's always wanted to see his American Football Team, Miami Dolphins on home turf (we enjoyed 2 games at The Hard Rock Stadium) and watched an epic game v New England Patriots on Sunday 9th).

We stayed at the fabulous El Paseo Hotel, situated on Espanola Way, two blocks from South Beach. The accommodation was great and the staff so helpful and friendly.

We'd chosen a Junior Suite which had a sitting area as well as a spacious bedroom (it looks exactly like the photos from the website, and yes we had two balconies which were great for people watching in the buzzy and sometimes very noisy party street below!)

We had an amazing time at the football and enjoyed the hospitality and fun times at Miami Dolphins Tailgate Town at the Tailgate before the game - they are there before every game and will happily give you a beer or two if you bring them a bottle for the bar!

with our friend Ron

And on the big day!

I loved being on holiday in December (first time ever) and Christmas fever hadn't reached Miami Beach which was great!

Next post I'll share where we ate, how we got about and other random things! Back to work and reality today alas!

Have you ever holidayed in Miami?
