Gift Ideas for Mother's Day

BYREDO Burning Rose Candle (240g - £50, 70g - £23) - this is a new candle fragrance and sounds gorgeous. With top notes of Rose Petals, middle of Rose Absolute, Violet & Leather and base notes of Birch Tree and Ebony Woods. I absolutely love the chic and stylish containers too.

Love Lula have a selection of tempting gifts. Joik's White Chocolate Bath Truffles (310g - £11.90) are perfect for mums who love to pamper themselves. See my review here.

MAULI Sacred Union Scent & Dry Oil (100ml - £64) - I recently purchased MAULI's Discover Mauli Gift Set (review coming soon!). One of the stand out products for me has been this deliciously scented dry oil. It is hand crafted in London and is made with nourishing oils and exquisite essences. Love!

Organic Surge Tropical Bergamot Body Scrub (350ml - £12.50) - this is my favourite scent from Organic Surge (I bought this as a little treat for me yesterday morning!). It combines natural pumice with Sunflower Seed Oil and essential oils of Sweet Orange & Bergamot.

A Gift Voucher from Content Beauty & Wellbeing - these start at £25 and go up to £250! I think any mother (or any beauty lover in fact) would love this gift.

This year I'm giving my mum a beautiful bunch of flowers from The Wild Flower Shop and taking her out for lunch.

The Wild Flower Shop

I know I am super lucky to have such a fab florist, Esther Kuck near to where I live.  Her flowers are simply amazing, great value and the bouquets are stunning.  You can  treat yourself to a small posy at just under a fiver or a ready made up bunch round about the £10 mark (and these will last around 2 weeks).  With over over 25 years experience as a freelance florist - Esther makes bouquets to order, wedding flowers, takes workshops, does flowers for magazine articles and event flowers.

I am a huge fan of her flowers - as you will probably have guessed!

You can follow Esther on Facebook here and see her website here.

You can find the shop at 90 Portobello High Street, Portobello, Edinburgh EH15 1AN

Veggie Growing - Update 2 (plus flowers & pooch)

Following on from my last update re veggie growing - I spent two and a half hours on the plot on Saturday and two yesterday.  It's beginning to take shape for growing.

I pampered myself after digging and weeding with a lovely bath using Relax Bath & Shower Concentrate by Clarins.  Its one of my favourites and great for aching muscles.

We have a local food store called Earthy which has a beautiful flower shop attached called The Wild Flower Shop. Esther, the florist stocks some amazing flowers and I picked up this posy for £4.90.  Its gorgeous!  I love thistles.  You can see Esther's website here.

Bess our dog also wanted to get in on the photo too!
