Bare & Bond Perfume Subscription: Wash me in The Water - January

Squeals - much excitement when I spotted a perfume subscription over on Stephan's InstagramInterest piqued, I popped over to Bare & Bond and signed up! (it costs a very affordable £14.95 a month for an 8.5ml spray bottle of EdP including p&p).

Each quarter, founder Frankee collabs with a new Perfumer. For the Winter Edition that perfumer was the one and only, Sarah McCartney from fabulous 4160Tuesdays (I'm already a fan having had their amazing Advent Calendar in 2015 and sample buys HERE plus other picks like London 1969 and #MrsGlossMadeMeDoIt, to name a few).

Your parcel will arrive in a letterbox friendly box (Yah!) which this Quarter has been illustrated by Bokani Tshidzu (it's stunning). It feels like a real treat upon opening it. Nestled inside is a thank you note from Frankee and an information card about that month's perfume (December's perfume was Captured by Candlelight, alternative January's Take me to the River and February's will be Red Queen).

The perfume is simply stunning - it has watery and grassy fresh herbal notes and is a blend of Frankincense, Rosemary, Mint, Water and Grass. If however you find not every perfume is for you each month Frankee cleverly includes a little friend box every 3 months so you can pass on perfumes which your friend(s) may adore.

If you're tempted - sign up HERE.

4160 Tuesdays Buys

It's been a while since I picked up any new perfumes from 4160 Tuesdays. I have to say my absolute favourite is London 1969 a delicious blend with top notes of Lemongrass, Grapefruit, Mandarin and Cedrat, with a heart of Moroccan Cedarwood, Sandalwood, Incense, Lavender and Violet with a base of Indian Patchouli, Labdanum and Musk. It featured in my favourite scents last summer. I was also lucky enough one year to have "that" Advent Calendar which was a dream come true.

Pssst...this week's half price perfume is the exquisite White Queen.  Sample vials 2.25ml cost £7.50 including p&p you can add extra ones to your order for £4.00 (so you don't have to pay for postage & packaging twice!) Nice touch!

Onto my picks.. of course I had to have White Queen which was made with ÇaFleureBon's founder, Michelyn Carmen to celebrate the community's 8th birthday. It's a non-sweet neo-gourmande and is lush! With notes of Frankincense, Hazelnut, Jasmine, Opoponax, Vetivert, Patchouli, Musk and creamy lactones and is inspired by Alice in Wonderland.

I also couldn't resist Creamy Vanilla Crumble a sweet concoction of creamy vanilla custard, crumble, hay and tobacco. Delicious! This was a Mrs Gloss and the Goss creation. A complimentary sample vial of Rhubarb & Custard 1:29 completed my order (thanks Sarah!) It's also from the Mrs G & the G stable and is sweet and sharp (and FS is now on the wishlist!) with notes of Vanilla Absolute, Vanillin, Musks, Hay, Tobacco, Bergamot, Lemon, Blackcurrant and a Rhubarb-like molecule. Delicious!

Shopping My Stash #98

Here's what I've been reaching for lately:

Every Antipodes product I've tried I've loved and this beautiful Deliverance Kowhai Flower Hand Cream is just a delight. See my mini review HERE. It smells gorgeous (Sweet Orange, Tonka Bean and Sandalwood) and deeply nourishes the hands and nails.

Not one but two lip products - one which gives the lips a rosey glow - Albus & Flora's Tinted Lip Balm SPF30 in Mountain Rose* (it's featured a few times on the blog). The nourishing pop of colour is great for a natural make up look (and perfect for the ski slopes!) My second is by Minyara (again I've mentioned them a lot on the blog) and they are deeply nourishing and come in a great range of flavours (I've got one by my bed, one in my handbag, one in my desk drawer...)

From nknaturals is their gorgeous life restoration mist* see my review HERE. As well as smelling beautiful it calms, refreshes, soothes and hydrates.

Bright and citrussy sweet Mrs Gloss & the Goss Lemon Sherbert EdP was created by Sarah at 4160 Tuesdays for the Facebook Group of the same name.

Current Favourite Scents

I adore smaller size perfumes and rollerballs, the 15ml or less variety and the ones above I keep reaching for again and again.

One I've talked about time and time again on here is Diptyque's Philosykos EdT (12ml) which for me smells of summer on the Greek islands. It just takes me back!

I'm a huge kai fan and I always have this tiny roller-ball (4ml) of perfume oil in my stash. It is tropical beaches with lush fragrant gardenia and spiked with green notes.

From Bamford - One Evening Splash (10ml) which is blended to scent the whole body and contains notes of woodsmoke, vetiver, incense, cedar, musk and oakmoss. Pick it up at Naturisimo.

I love 4160Tuesdays perfumes. They are just so artisan - handmade with love, care and passion. My absolute favourite if I had to choose is the lemongrass spiked London 1969 (I've gone through countless bottles since I found it). Check it out HERE.

The first Jo Malone perfume I bought was grapefruit cologne (love the classic layer with Lime, Basil & Mandarin) and I'll always love it. Refreshing, bright and zingy.

Last December, Santal33 EdP 15ml by Le Labo was in one of the drawers of the Liberty Advent Calendar last year. It's a beautiful blend freshly formulated with notes of leather, iris, violet, cardamon, ambrox, musk, sandalwood, cedar and woods. It's one of my favourite handbag (or pocket) sized scents.

Laura Mercier's Tart au Citron 15ml EdT which I reviewed HERE. It really is a beautiful gourmand scent.

My final two are by the gorgeous Ancienne Ambiance - Colonia VI* which has notes of orange, lemon, blackcurrant and geranium which is sweet and delicious. See my review HERE. Also from Ancienne Ambiance is Colonia VII which is figgy with greens and woods. See my review HERE.

Do we share any favourites?

Recent Buys

Here's some of the things I've bought recently:

A beautiful and good quality plain notebook by Emerald & Lime. You can never have too many notebooks, well that's my opinion!

I can never resist a new launch at 4160Tuesdays and I had to have fruity and fizzy Lemon Sherbet which is from the #mrsglossmademedoit range. It has notes of lemon, orange, grapefruit, sherbet dibdabs, musk and vanilla and is perfect for spring and summer...and I got a sample vial with order - Goodbye Piccadilly "a scent for suffragettes, first made for London Transport Museum with materials used in 1914: violet, iris, lavender, leather, vanilla and patchouli".

I discovered Wax+Wick on Sasha's Instagram and found I couldn't resist a little splurge. The bottles are repurposed wine bottles picked up (empty) from the wine bars of Primrose Hill. They are ruddgedly cut making them look more interesting I think.

The artisan candles handmade with 100% soy wax and interesting blends of essential oils. Grapefruit+Sage is just amazing and I can't wait to buy MORE. They are very well wrapped for postage and come in a drawstring cotton bag making them great for gifting if you can bear to part with them that is!

I'd tried products from Ravenscourt Apothecary before (link). Again, an instagram spot was the delicious sounding Blood Orange Body Butter, which really is mouthwatering. I also picked up a lip balm set. Love the simple packaging and that the products are made with care, love and natural ingredients.

My final recent buy was a reduced Mary Greenwell Plum candle at The Fragrance Shop. Totally bargainous at a tenner (RRP £45).  The packaging is super luxe and I've not decided yet whether to keep or gift!  The Perfume shop also give away 2 fragrance samples with order and I also picked 3 perfume sample vials for £3.

March Empties

Here's what I've been using up in March (a sunny photo for a change!):

John Masters Organics Rose & Apricot Hair Milk 30ml - this is a staple in my stash and I've just opened another one. See my review HERE.

Pureology Hydrate Conditioner 50ml - lovely to use, loved its minty scent and how soft and moisturised it left my hair. Sure to buy full size at some point.

Dr Bronner's Peppermint 18-in-1 Pure Castle Soap 237ml - love this and it's always in my stash to clean my make up brushes and sometimes the bath! You can even clean your teeth with it (in an emergency). I actually need to stock up on this.

Dr Organic Rose Otto Bath Oil 100ml - this is my dupe for REN's bath oil. Maybe not quite as luxurious but brilliant value for money and rather lovely. Just opened a new one.

REN Moroccan Rose Gold Glow Perfect Dry Oil 100ml* - an absolutely beautiful lightly scented rose oil which moisturises and leaves the skin looking glowy. I'll definitely pick another up again soon. See my review HERE.

Molton Brown Frankincense & Allspice Hand Wash 300ml - I adore this spicy scented handwash. I have a huge stash of these - gifted, bought in the sales and from Latest in Beauty (and hopefully enough to last all year as it's only available at Christmas time) See my review HERE.

Olverum Bath Oil 15ml - is a favourite for a deeply relaxing soak. See my review HERE. I recently bought a mini trio and I am now happy to find them as a Latest in Beauty pick.

Weleda Pomegranate Regenerating Body Oil 10ml - a lovely body oil which I'd used before and now after trying it again will buy.

Organic Surge 2 Minute Moisture Mask 150ml - a beautiful, rich (bakewell tart scented) mask which left the hair looking glossy and healthy. Really impressed with this product and will definitely buy again.

Flower by Kenzo EdP sample vial - this came in Perfume Society's Modern Classics Box (REVIEW). I found I loved that I loved it after thinking I hated it for years! It has notes of Bulgarian Rose, Parma Violet, Vanilla and Musk and is lush. Full size is now on the wishlist!

Aromatherapy Associates Deep Relax Bath & Shower Oil 3ml - this is one of my favourites. Sure to buy full size at some point.

4160Tuesdays London 1969 EdP 9ml - I actually finished two perfumes this month which is pretty much unheard of! I've already re-purchased this. See my thoughts on it HERE.

Weleda Lavender Creamy Body Wash 20ml - a lightly lavender scented wash which I'd maybe buy full size.

Make Up Forever High Definition Powder 1g - I really enjoyed using this to set my make up. I have since picked up another mini via Love me Beauty and I'd buy full size.

Diptyque Vetyverio EdT 10ml - simply totally fell for this when I friend sent it to me and I've since bought full size. A really beautiful scent with floral notes and vetiver. Slightly woody with rose and floral notes. It's perfection!

AEOS Enriching Spelt Hand Cream 30ml** - which was one of the most luxurious hand creams I've ever used. See my review HERE.

MOA Fortifying Green Bath Potion Single Shot - huge fan of this beautiful bath oil which is perfect when you've got the flu or feeling run down. It's also good to use after exercise as it relieves any aches and pains. See my review HERE. I always have this in my stash.

John Masters Organics 100% Argan Oil sample - this can be used on the face, body and hair. I used it most for smoothing down fly-aways. Would buy full size.

Rosalena Bio-Active Love & Me Face Oil 2ml sample - nice to use but others in the range I prefer. So probably wouldn't buy this one full size. See my review HERE.

Shopping my Stash #81

Here's what I've been reaching for lately:

Revlon's Ultra HD Matt Lipcolor in Devotion is just such a pretty shade. I love it's matt texture and long lasting colour too.

Mevita Youthful Day Cream 10ml which was a Latest in Beauty Build your own Box pick.  It firms, smoothes out fine lines, smells lovely and deeply nourishes the skin. Love!

Aesop Rind Concentrate Body Balm 50ml which I first tried when Galina at A Curious Russian in London sent me a sample. A truly uplifting rich body balm which has a citrus scent. It will cool and revive the skin and is perfect to use all year round. This is the body product which will chase away the winter blues!

Balm Balm Rose Floral Water 30ml* I received this in September's Love Lula Beauty Box*. I absolutely love it and am almost half way through it! Great to use as a toner or as a refreshing pick-me-up throughout the day. It's one I'll definitely be replenishing.

4160Tuesdays Buddhawood Box EdP with woody spicy notes and a creamy lighter note which is perfect coming into Autumn.

Less is More Rose Serum 30ml which I reviewed HERE. A beautiful product which makes the hair look shiny, smooth and healthy.

Shopping My Stash #80

Here's what I've been reaching for this week:

Avalon Organics Clarifying Shampoo 325ml - this is probably the best clarifying shampoo I've ever used. It's great for getting rid of product build up and refreshing the hair. See my review HERE. I spotted the range for sale when last in Waitrose.

4160Tuesdays London 1969 - this is my second bottle of this lush scent. See my thoughts on it HERE.

Plant ØÅ Face Oil 30ml* - simply love this balancing oil. See my review HERE.

Evolve Beauty Lip Treat sample - this lip balm came in Evolve's sample pack. It's really lovely and I'll buy full size when it's finished. It deeply nourishes the lips and has a mouthwatering orange scent.

John Masters Organics Sea Mist - I'm absolutely obsessed with this product just now and used it every single day on holiday. Just recently picked up the full size. It's one of my favourite products this summer.

I came across Bramley Products on holiday and their Body Lotion with Juniper berry and Bergamot smells fantastic. It detoxifies and moisturises the skin.

I've fallen in love with every Gallinée product I've tried! Their La Culture Hand Cream* is just amazing - see my review HERE

Summer Holidays: Beauty

I ended up taking way too many beauty products with me on holiday (I'll learn though for next year!) I felt especially overloaded after seeing Lynda's holiday picks.

Skincare:

I used the Madara Micellar Water up (it's one of my favourites - see my review HERE) and some of the smaller sizes (which I just threw in the bin rather than bringing them back for an empties post).

Here's the ones I reached for again and again..

Expect reviews of PHB Ethical Beauty's Brightening Eye Gel and 001 Skincare's fabulous Pure Lavender Hydrolat Toner* soon. I loved using both these products on holiday.

Also there is my favourite Skin & Tonic Steam Clean and 001's Exfoliating & Conditioning Cleanser* (review) along with Dahliana's amazing Wildflower Youth Serum* (review).

Bodycare/Suncare:

I was testing out these two products by Nourish* & Frezyderm* over my holidays so expect reviews shortly.

I also took these along..

I used up a few items and acquired some lovely Bramley products at The Pig

My most reached for items were..

Therapie's Himalayan Detox Salts (these are finished but the pot is handy for travel) and my favourite Marble & Milkweed Nourishing Body Oil (review). The little Bloomtown Botanicals sample soaps* were perfect for travel and the Bramley body lotion is lovely. Expect reviews soon.

Haircare:

You know the drill by now..(I took far too much of everything!)

I used up all the sachet samples and my most reached for items were..

Bramley's Shampoo & Conditioner, Swell's Ultimate Protect & Renew Serum*(which came in the recent Naturisimo Hello Gorgeous Hair Discovery Box) and John Masters Organics Sea Mist which I used most days for beachy waves.

Perfume:

And the ones I reached for..(the Eden Portofino one was already in my handbag)

Jo Loves Pomelo (review), 4160Tuesdays London 1969 (mini review), Miller Harris Vetiver Insolent (a new favourite), Creed Virgin Island Water (the perfect summer scent) and Eden Perfumes Portofino which has notes like the Tom Ford version.

Make up:

I did a bit better with make up although I did take a selection of lipsticks and glosses. These were my favourite bits:

Are you able to pack light for holidays?

Summer Scents

These are the scents I've been reaching for this summer:

Citron Citron by Miller Harris EdP* - I recently won this after being picked at random to win a bottle after a #30plusblogs Twitter chat. This is the perfect summertime scent. See my review HERE.

Diptyque's Philosykos EdT - this scent is always in my stash. The best fig I've ever tried. Takes me back to long hot summers in Greece. Love it.

4160Tuesdays London 1969 EdP - I first tried this from the amazing Advent Calendar and fell in love. A gorgeous citrus with a twist. It has top notes of Lemon, Lemongrass, Grapefruit, Mandarin and Cedar with a heart of Moroccan Cedar, Sandalwood, Incense, Violet and Lavender with base notes of Patchouli, Labdnum and Musk. See my thoughts on the Advent calendar HERE. This is a perfume I'll keep buying as long as Sarah keeps making it!

Light Blue by Dolce & Gabanna EdT - I used to wear this all the time so is my blast from the past perfume! I love its refreshing feel and fruity floral scent. With notes of Citron, Apple, Jasmine, Freesia, Musk and Amber. It's the perfect summer holiday scent.

I've been loving trying out the Vegan perfumes by Eden Perfumes, a family run company based in Brighton. Their perfumes have similar notes to high street perfumes including discontinued ones. My current favourite is No.475 with similar notes to Tom Ford's Neroli Portofino. It really is a very good match.

Shopping my Stash #76

Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet SPF15 30ml - you just can't beat a Chanel Foundation! This one applies easily and feels like a "second skin". It smoothes over imperfections leaving the skin with a matte finish. Love!

NIOD MMHC (Multi-Molecular Hyaluronic Complex) 30ml - is one of the most amazing products I've ever used on my skin (it's not natural, but it works). I've only been using it a few days and the lines above my top lip have completely disappeared. It came from this little set and the I've since purchased CAIS.

Yogandha Detox Body Oil 125ml - this is my second bottle of this uplifting body oil. Scented with Lemongrass and Juniper Berry it awakens the body and mind and is absolutely gorgeous!

Aurelia's Aromatic Repair & Brighten Hand Cream 75ml (£28*) - is simply divine. It deeply nourishes the hands repairing and brightening dark spots. With essential oils of Vetivert, Ylang Ylang, Lavender and Patchouli (smells beautiful). This one's beside my bed! (expect a fuller review shortly)

My final item is the amazing 4160Tuesdays Buddhawood Box 30ml - which recently crowdfunded (122%) and is one of the Mystery of the Materials quartet. See my initial thoughts HERE. I love its spicy woody notes with the mellow creamy notes. Just gorgeous!

May: Lately I've been Loving

My May loves..

I picked up this bottle of Edward's Cordial at our local Earthy Foods & Goods Store and it's absolutely bursting with the taste of juicy fresh strawberries with a hint of mint. Perfect served with fizzy water or wine!

These Leafy air dried kale crisps are SO delicious. I first tried them in May's Limited Edition Luxury LifeBox (review). I adored the Luxury LifeBox too (link).

Hubby treated me to this stunning piece of artwork created by Lynn Howarth using pastels. It's called "Under a Portobello Sunset" and was bought at The Velvet Easel Gallery. Just know it's going to bring me years and years of pleasure. I just love it.

Charlotte Tilbury's Instant Look in a Palette became mine this month and I love it. So pretty and easy to create the look!

My friends Magi and Derek gave me this lovely Alfie mug. I've known their cat since he was a teeny tiny kitten and it makes me smile every time I use it.

My extra special 4160Tuesdays The Buddhawood Box EdP 30ml arrived unexpectedly this month. It's such a beautiful scent. See my initial thoughts on The Mysteries of the Materials: Four Scented Stories HERE.

Bodhi & Birch Botanical Dew Hand & Body Wash which is their latest launch. See my review HERE.

4160Tuesdays: The Mystery of the Materials: Four Scented Stories

Sarah at 4160Tuesdays has been crowdfunding again for The Mystery of the Materials: Four Scented Stories and there are a variety of ways you can back the project (see here). The four scents are inspired by mystery stories in 1930s Britain. There is also going to be a printed book of the stories.

I initially chose the 1st round of small mysteries 4 x 2.25ml eaux de parfum at £16 plus P&P and they arrived yesterday (another highlight was a note handwritten by Sarah herself!)

My favourite of the four is The Buddhawood Box with four woods and a note of multicoloured opalescence. It mellows to a gentle woody scent with creamy notes. Love it so much I bought this.

I'm sure I'm going to love the other three too! They are Flora Psychedelica with rare flowers, spices and herbs, Up the Apples & Pears autumn fruit in a tiny London orchard and Captured by Candlelight, plum pudding with brandy and set alight, with a background of oak and oil paintings.

Pick your perk HERE (available for the next 60 days).

Perfume Collection

I have quite a few perfume sample vials as you can see below!

Today I'm showing you my collection of perfumes - full size, travel size and rollerballs. I actually have quite a small collection (only 40). You can see what I had in my stash in January 2012 and in March last year.

The two that are the most expensive in my stash are Chanel's Sycomore EdT (when I bought it was £100 - 75ml). I love its woody, mossy and vertivert notes.  See my review HERE.

Tom Ford's Santal Blush EdP (£145 - 50ml) this is my third bottle! An absolute hug in a bottle. It has notes of sandalwood, cumin, fenugreek, cinnamon, rose, ylang ylang, jasmine, woods, benzoin and musk. I just love it. See my review HERE.

I've got a lot of love for Shay & Blue. I recently finished Watermelons which I loved. It will definitely be a re-purchase.  Currently in my collection is Framboise Noir* (REVIEW), Salt Caramel (mini Review) and Atropa Belladona (HERE). I've also got two mini sizes of Blood Oranges and Almond Cucumber.

I adore rose scents. I picked up the Jo Malone Tudor Rose 30ml at the great Perfume Society Rock the Ages event I went to last year - see HERE. Hubby listened to my hints and bought me the gorgeous Miller Harris Rose Silence EdP (50ml) for my Christmas. See my review HERE.

Aqua di Parma's Rosa Nobile EdP which I received last year for Christmas. It has notes of mandarin, bergamot, pepper, peony, violet, lily of the valley, Centifolia rose, cedarwood, ambergris and musk. It's a really pretty feminine scent.

I reviewed True Nature Botanicals solid perfume Noble Floral* and totally fell in love with it. With notes of Tuberose, Rose, Jasmine and Citrus. See my review HERE.

Diptyque's Eau Rose Roll on is a beautiful true rose perfume and has notes of bergamot, lychee and blackcurrant, damask and centifolia roses, with musk, cedar and honey.

I picked up Jo Loves White Rose & Lemon Leaves 30ml when in London last year. It really is exquisite. See my review HERE.

Lush's Imogen Rose solid perfume is a fairly light rose scent with rose and green notes. It doesn't really last long but it's a cute little scent.

I recently tried a sample of Escentric Molecules 01 and loved it. This is the 30ml travel size refill. The scent smells differently on everyone and two people (so far) have been enticed with it - one male, one female!

I'm a huge fan of lovely Gorse by Laboratory Perfumes (100ml) this one is beautiful. The gorse gives it a coconutty edge and this perfume smells differently on everyone as well! See my review HERE.

Estee Lauder's Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia EdP (30ml) another scent I first picked up in London before it was widely available. See my review HERE.

I've got a lot of love for Diptyque's Philosykos and have it in the rollerball oil and the EdT spray. It takes me back to hot summer days in Greece. The best and original fig scent. The EdP is on the wishlist.

My in-laws got me Angel for my birthday last year. I used to go through it by the gallon but hadn't worn it for a few years.

Abahna's Frangipani & Orange Blossom re-fillable spray is also a favourite. See my review HERE.

From the 4160Tuesdays Advent Calendar I totally fell for London 1969 (this little spray is nearly done so I'll definitely get full size) and Raw Silk & Red Roses both 9ml. See my review HERE.

Jo Malone Grapefruit Cologne (30ml) was the first scent I bought from Jo Malone. I like it paired with Lime, Basil & Mandarin body lotion.

Khiel's Nashi Blossom & Pink Grapefruit (30ml) is a delicious fruity floral with notes of pink grapefruit, ginger, soy milk and musk.

Annick Goutal Mandragore EdT (30ml) which came in a beauty box ages ago. It has fruity minty notes.

The Library of Fragrance Gin & Tonic which is refreshing and zesty and Salt Air with seaside ozonic notes.

Oliver Bonas Blackberry Musk roll on which I picked up while Christmas shopping. See my review HERE.

Infusion Organique Sands of Morocco Organic EdP roll on which is lovely to wear on hot summer days. See my review HERE.

kai perfume oil roll on which is always in my stash. I love the gardenia and fresh green notes. It's the perfect holiday scent.

Ancienne Ambiance Colonia Collection* are a simply stunning trio of scents. See my thoughts HERE.

Jimmy Choo Perfume roller-ball which I picked up in Sephora in Paris. Love a little Jimmy Choo and rollerball perfumes!

Pacifica Tahitian Gardenia Roll on* which is a blend of gardenia, jasmine, sweet orange and tea leaves. It really is lovely. See my review HERE.

L'Occitane Magnolia & Mure Trial Size EdT which is fruity and floral. Figuier & Osmanthus EdT was limited edition last summer and is a juicy fig scent.

Freak by Illamaqua EdP I first got a sample of this in a Glossybox. This is my second full size bottle. It has notes Black Davana, Opium Flower, Poison Hemlock and Frankincense.

I received this little bottle of Tom Ford's White Suede EdP after a make-over. It's really lovely and has notes of musk, rose and amber.

On the wishlist are these along with Beaufort London's Coeur De Noir EdP.

What perfumes are in your collection?
