*Shopping My Stash #116

*means I've generously received the product free of charge as part of the Love Lula Accredited Blogger Program. All brands in the post are available to buy at Love Lula (they've got a summer sale on right now. Check it out HERE). Here's what I've been reaching for:

I love that you can choose 5 samples/trial sizes with a purchase of £10+ for a nominal cost. The Organic Pharmacy's Peppermint Facial Wash 20ml* trial size costs £6.50 and it's perfect for try-me or holidays and there's enough product inside to really get a feel if you'd like it/it suits your skin (full size is 100ml and costs £35). The wash is gently antibacterial, unisex and is also good for teen skin. Eucalyptus & Peppermint purify while Lavender & Tea Tree are antiseptics. The wash has a slight lather and a pleasant herbal/minty scent. I like to use it in my morning shower. Full size is now on the wishlist!

As now hand sanitisers are the new norm (I've got one in my desk at work, one in each of my handbags and a few at home). I really rate Alteya Organics's one. See my review HERE.

I've only really dabbled with SOiL's essential oils before but it turns out they've got a nice range of remedy rollers and massage oils. Their REVIVE remedy roller 11ml is the perfect size to pop in a pocket or handbag for use on the go. I've found it really does revive! The rollerball contains geranium & grapefruit to balance while rosemary & basil refresh the mind and boost energy (blended in a base of organic soy and sesame oils). Simply roll onto pulse points as needed.

This actual John Masters Organics's mini Leave-In Conditioning Mist with Green Tea & Calendula came in a discovery box but you can buy the full size at Love Lula (I'll definitely be replenishing). This lightweight nutrient rich mist conditions and detangles and leaves the hair feeling soft and looking shiny. Love!

My final pick is my favourite Ooh! Oils of Heaven Organic Plum Conditioning Face Oil 30ml* which I received in my JUNE Love Lula Beauty Box. I totally fell in love with it. See my review HERE. This one's nearly finished (but I stocked up during the recent offer!) It truly is sublime.

Natural Hand Sanitisers:The Castilian Soap Co, Alteya Organics, The Secret Garden, Haoma

I found it difficult at the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak to find a hand sanitiser (or loo roll for that matter!) The first one I tried was part of a secret project by a London perfumer (fabulous) and I've since gone on to source a few more. My latest ones are from Love Lula from The Castilian Soap Company and Alteya Organics.

The first one I bought was from a Root to Market order from The Secret Herb Garden. Their The Secret Garden Natural Hand Sanitiser with Lavender & Thyme (£6 - 50ml) is housed in a glass recyclable spray bottle. It is made with ethanol, distilled water, vegetable glycerine and essential oils It has a lovely lavender scent and I find it very effective if slightly drying.

Haoma's Hand Sanitiser (50ml - £16) won Best Hand Sanitiser at the recent Beauty Shortlist Awards. It comes housed in an attractive spray glass bottle. It's made with 96% pure certified organic, fair trade sugarcane ethanol. The lab-tested formula contains a minimum of 60% alcohol along with softening glycerin. Antibacterial organic Tea Tree & Sweet Orange essential oils give it an earthy/citrus scent. It's easy to spray onto hands, has a powerful (but pleasant scent) and leaves hands feeling sanitised and protected.

The two latest ones in my stash are from Love Lula. The Castilian Soap Company Natural Hand Sanitiser with Peppermint & Chamomile (50ml - £9.50) is the most nourishing of the four. It's presented in a plastic pump action bottle which is recyclable. The scent is pure Murray Mints! Like the others it's formulated with Ethanol as well as Chamomile water and Peppermint essential oil along with plant glycerin. It's a handy size to pop in your bag or pocket.

Alteya Organics Hand Cleanser is the largest of the selection (100ml) and currently on offer at £6.36 (normal price £7.95). It's presented in a plastic pump action bottle which is recyclable. Formulated with 70% denatured ethyl alcohol, organic glycerin and organic Lavender essential oil. Lavender is antibacterial, antimicrobial and antiseptic and works well with the higher alcohol content. It has quite a strong lavender scent and dries quickly.

I've been very impressed these natural sanitisers. What are your favourites?

*Love Lula: It's all about the Roses: REN & Alteya

*sent to me as part of the Love Lula Accredited Blogger Program. My post contains two affiliate links. Seeing as it's Valentines Day today I thought I'd share my rose infused picks this month (you can see all my Valentine's Day gift suggestions HERE).

From REN we have their sumptuous Morroccan Rose Otto Firming Creme Riche (200ml - £37)* which truly is a delight.

It has a rich souffle like texture which melts onto warm skin (just massage a small amount onto the skin) for delicately scented and nourished skin. Such a luxe treat! I'm a huge fan of the Rose Otto range - see my previous reviews HERE and HERE.

From Alteya Organics is their Organic Bulgarian Centifolia Rose Water (120ml - £7.95)* which is presented in an amber glass bottle. It has an intensely rosy scent (the fresh blooms are picked by hand early in the morning when they are cool, fresh and when the first rays of sunshine unveil their fragrance). The mist will tone, soften, soothe, brighten, tighten, minimise pores and balance.

To use: spritz when needed throughout the day or AM/PM before moisture, apply to the skin with a cotton pad, to set make up, as a body mist or a hair rinse. I do love a multi-use product.

My final pick this month, which is also from Alteya Organics is their romantic Organic Bulgarian Rose Lip Balm (4.5g - £4.50)* which has a gorgeous sweet rosy scent. The balm will give you lush and kissable lips scented with roses.

What are your top picks for Valentines Day?

Valentine's Day Gift Ideas: Cocorosa Beauty, RMS Beauty, Eteaket, Connock London, REN & Alteya Organics

Here are my top picks for Valentines Day (products marked * I've been kindly gifted for review):

Totally luxe, pampering and award winning Cocorosa Beauty Egyptian Neroli Cleansing Oil (from £18) is simply one of the best cleansing oils I've ever used. It makes quick work of make up and daily grime and smells divine! I was very kindly gifted a selection of try-me sizes* along with my order which I've loved using. You can pick these up HERE - perfect for try-me or travel (they make great small gifts too).

RMS Beauty Wild with Desire Mini Lipstick Set (£33)* from Love Lula is a set I pick up time and time again. The shades are fantastic and the colours very long lasting. They are the perfect size for night's out and holidays.

Eteaket's glorious Blooming Marvellous Candle 6oz in collab with Laura Thomas. This beautiful candle is created with Blooming Marvellous Green Tea! It has raspberry, rose and vanilla notes in a soy wax base and will burn for 30hrs. It's truly perfection!

Connock London's signature scent Kukui Oil EdP is the perfect gift. As well as looking stylish it is created with beautiful floral notes of Gardenia, Italian Bergamot, Moroccan Rose, White Jasmine and Calla Lily. The scent is enhanced with Sandalwood, Vetiver, White Amber, Cashmere and Sheer Musks along with Vanilla Absolute and Tonka Bean. It truly is a delight!

This month as a Love Lula Accredited Blogger I picked a trio of rose scented products* (full reviews to come!) which are perfect to add a touch of romance and sparkle to your Valentine's Day. They are all simply sumptuous!

What are you hoping to receive on Valentine's Day?

June Empties

I'm not going to use anything else up this month so here are my June empties. Items marked with * are product samples.

*Alteya Organics Rose & Mullein Hydrating Flower Toner 120ml - I'm a huge fan of this brand and loved this hydrating rosy toner. See my review HERE. Will buy when my stash reduces.

Byredo Bal D'Afrique Hand Cream 30ml - I really enjoyed this hand cream which deeply nourished the hands and nails and left them delicately scented. I picked this up from a friend who was selling it. I'd maybe buy again.

Clarins Rose Radiance Cream 5ml - which was a Feel Unique pick 'n' mix sample. I loved it's rosy scent and how quickly it absorbed. Would buy.

Sisley Purifying Balancing Lotion 15ml - this came via my subscription with Sisley (which I stopped as the samples were getting quite samey). Nice enough to use but wouldn't buy.

Noble Isle Rhubarb Rhubarb! & Tea Rose Bath & Shower Gel (both 30ml) - I adored both these which came as gift with purchase. Would buy both full size.

Zing Organics Elevate Body Oil with Frankincense & Clementine 80ml - which came in my January Box which I reviewed HERE. I'll re-purchase this when my body oil stash reduces.

Guerlain Abeille Royal Youth Water Oil 0.5ml - which seemed nice but such a teeny sample.

Upcircle Face Scrub x 3 (8g) Herbal (oily/combo), Floral (sensitive) and Citrus (dry). These are new products by Upcircle which I enjoyed using. I'd maybe buy once my stash reduces.  Upcircle Lemongrass Body Scrub 10g which was nice to use. My favourite scent is peppermint. The one I really want to try full size is the Face Serum 2ml which is absolutely fantastic.

Dafna's Purify Cleanser 1ml - again a small sample, not really enough to get a feel for the product.

John Masters Organics Repair Conditioner 10ml - which seemed quite nice. I only got one use from the sachet so would probably need to try it again before passing judgement.

My final sample this month is Sol Janeiro Coco Cabana Cream 7.5ml - again this was a Feel Unique sample. I prefer the original bum bum cream scent. This one was just a little bit artificial for me so wouldn't buy.

*Love Lula: Alteya Organics New Rose & Mullein Collection - First Impressions

*productsamples/one affiliate link (apart from Gentle Brightening Cleanser which I bought myself). These products are sent to me as part of the Love Lula Accredited Blogger Program.

These following thoughts are my first impressions. Don't you just love the stylish packaging of the new Alteya Organics Rose & Mullein range!

The Gentle Brightening Cleanser I bought myself in order that I could test out the full range (£15 - 200ml) which comes in a plastic pump bottle and is boxed. The products have a rosy/slightly herbal scent.

The cleanser is a cross between a cream cleanser and a low foaming cleanser and unfortunately found I just couldn't get on with it - I think I prefer one or the other!

Formulated with illuminating Bulgarian Rose Otto, Mullein flower extract helps to brighten while skin reviving Candeia Bark extract calms, softens and smoothes out fine lines and wrinkles. Soothing Aloe Vera is a natural exfoliant and Hyaluronic Acid replenishes.

To use: massage onto the skin (I couldn't work out if you were meant to use it on wet or dry skin - and although I tried both methods it just wasn't for me) before rinsing.

The Hydrating Flower Toner* (£13 - 120ml) was in the love category! It's a cooling and soothing mist which refreshes and tones the skin.

Formulated with illuminating and toning Bulgarian Rose Otto, Mullein flower extract brightens, Candeia bark extract soothes and blurs fine lines and wrinkles, youth preserving Rose Water and deeply hydrating Hyaluronic Acid. It'll make sure your skin is really clean before nourishment.

To use: spritz onto the skin after cleansing or throughout the day to refresh.

Iridescent Light Serum (30ml - £19)* is white in colour and slightly thicker than I was expecting but it absorbs quickly and is nice to use.

The serum contains the same ingredients are the rest in the range and is infused with their proprietary iridescent light phyto-complex which fights dull and tired skin encouraging it to glow!

To use: apply AM/PM before moisturising for brighter, tighter and more luminous skin.

My favourite product from the range is Pure Moisture Face Cream (£18 - 50ml) which is a light and fluffy cream which absorbs instantly onto the skin leaving it feeling nourished and hydrated. It provides a perfect matt base for make up.  Again, it contains the same ingredients to promote younger looking and glowy skin.

To use: apply AM/PM after the serum.

The jury is out as to the range's brightening qualities (I haven't really noticed any difference to my skin in that sense) but the range is lovely to use and very affordable. For me, the star of the range is Pure Moisture Face Cream.

Have you used anything from the Rose & Mullein range?

*Love Lula Beauty Box: April 2019

*AD/Gifted It's always an exciting day when my Love Lula Beauty Box arrives! This month's box is absolutely fantastic. As ever, there is a very generous 25% discount for any of the brands in the box this month.

WOW!

The first thing which caught my eye was Dr Botanicals Lemon Superfood all-in-one Rescue Butter (50ml - £19) which is a brand new product from the brand. It smells simply incredible and melts instantly onto the skin. Use as a moisturiser on the face and body, on dry and cracked areas such as elbows, knees, feet and lips or as a cleanser (avoiding eye area). I do love a multi-use product and I'm looking forward to testing it out.

From lovely Gallinée is their La Culture Probiotic Body Milk  (200ml - £28) which I've used before. See my review HERE.

There's a beautiful shade of bright pink Glossworks Nail Polish in Raspberry Parade (9ml - £12) which will be perfect for summer painted toes (or nails)!

From Alteya Organics is their Chamomile Water (120ml - £7.95) which has a bit of an acquired scent!

The final two items are sachet samples by Kimberley Sayer which retail at 25p each. Great try me's or for holidays.

It's a great box this month, are you a subscriber?

March Empties

*gifted/for review
**sent to me as part of the Love Lula Accredited Blogger Program

I'm not sure what's happened this month but I've hardly used a thing! I'm not going to use anything else up so here are my March empties:

Clarins Fig Leaf Hand & Nail Cream 30ml - this was very moisturising and had a lovely fig type scent. I think it was limited edition so not sure if it's still available. Might or might not buy again.

*Dr Jackson's 07 Face Wash 1.5ml - which won best foaming cleanser at the recent Beauty Shortlist Awards was lovely to use and the perfect try-me size (I got two uses from this sachet). I loved this and would buy full size.

*Dr Jackson's 06 Body Gel - I loved this - it had a silky texture and a gorgeous scent. Would buy.  The final Dr Jackson's item in my empties was a 2ml sachet of their 01 Day Cream which I quite liked. Reviews of these and other Dr Jackson's products is forthcoming but I'm suitably impressed with the brand.

Evering Botanique Agrume Face Oil 15ml - I won this on an instagram competition - see HERE. I loved this citrus+neroli scented skin treat and would buy.

Penhaligons Quercus Bath & Shower Gel 50ml - the Quercus range was in our hotel bathroom last week (luxurious) and this unisex wash was lovely (I have used this scent before). I really enjoyed using it again and would buy full size (I also love Penhaligon's Bluebell range).

BYBI Beauty Babe Balm 30ml - this luxe balm is gorgeous. I have since cracked open a new one. See my review HERE.

My final March empty is **Alteya Organics Rose Oil Hand Cream 30ml - which is a deliciously rich and buttery hand cream scented with rose. It's a delight. See my review HERE. I've since opened a new one.

Love Lula: Alteya Organics Sunscreens

I took Alteya Organics Sunscreens* on holiday with me recently. Their Whole Body Sunscreen SPF30 *(90ml - £13.40) has a light tint (which isn't visible when rubbed into the skin) and a earthy floral scent. I found it to be very effective and nice to use. It's formulated to protect against UVA/UVB rays and is enriched with botanical butters and oils to hydrate, nourish and protect. It's NaTrue Certified Organic with natural UVA/UVB solar protection.

To use: apply generously 15 minutes before sun exposure and re-apply swimming (or sweating!)

I also tried their Organic Rose Lip Balm SPF 15* (£5) which protects the lips from the sun's harmful rays. The balm deeply nourishes keeping lips supple and healthy. Again, it's got a rosey-earthy scent.

To use: apply just before sun exposure and re-apply every 2 hours.

I was very impressed with their performance and would use these sunscreens again. Have you tried them? What's your favourite green suncare?

Love Lula: Beauty Box: November 2018

It's always an exciting day when my Love Lula Beauty Box* arrives! This month there are 3 full size products and 2 generous trial sizes. The box is worth a huge £66 this month. So what's inside..

From Alteya Organics is their Organic Rosehip Seed Oil 20ml (£8.75) which is lovely. The 100% certified organic cold pressed Rosehip Seed Oil is rich in essential fatty acids. I'm looking forward to testing this out properly but loved it on first try.

A little bit controversial is The Perfect V Gentle Exfoliator 50ml (£31) which is a range created for the bikini area - use it before or after shaving to help prevent in-grown hairs and redness. The packaging is beautiful and very luxurious but it's not a product I'd use (I've passed it onto someone I know will use and appreciate it!)

From Urban Veda we have their Purifying Exfoliating Facial Polish 125ml (£12.99) which has been recently reformulated. The creamy polish seems to have the perfect amount of scrubbiness (natural pumice) and has a zingy spearmint scent. It helps to remove impurities and blackheads. Looking forward to trying this brand out again.

The two trial sizes are: REN's Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask 15ml which helps leave the skin looking radiant while reducing fine lines and improving skin tone and Natura Siberica's Oblepikha Hand Cream 30ml which I've used before and loved.

What do you think of this month's box?

Skin Organics Clean Beauty Box - July - Rose

I picked up my July Skin Organics Clean Beauty Box on Friday before rushing out the door for a wee weekend in North Berwick. I finally got round to looking more closely at everything in July's box last night.

The theme this month is rose (isn't that tissue just exquisite!)

And for a closer look...

The first item to jump out at me was new to me brand Zenon Kition and inside is 100ml Floral Beauty Mist (worth £9.99) which you can use skin, hair and scalp.

I'm already a huge fan of Alteya Organics Age Defense Rose Oil Hand Cream (30ml - £6.20) See my review HERE. Very happy to have a back up now in my stash!

From Lola's Apothecary is their Delicate Romance Body & Massage Perfume Deluxe Roll-on (10ml - £20) which is rose heaven! Use as a perfume, as a body oil or for massage. It's exquisite.

It's nice to see a make up item in the box. Inside is Odylique's Lip Line in Rose (full size - £12.50) which I'm looking forward to testing out.

From Balmkind there is their Beauty Shortlist Awards 2018 Finalist - Alpine Rose & Lysine Lip Balm (10ml - £12) which I reviewed HERE.

There's a duo from Weleda - two trial sizes from their Wild Rose range - Creamy Body Wash (20ml) and Body Oil (10ml). I tried these recently for the first time and loved them.

The final item is samples from Green People of their Damask Rose Facial Oil (5ml) and Damask Rose Moisturiser (10ml).

It's a great value box this month and stuffed full of rose scented goodies and as ever money off coupons from most of the brands. For me this month there are two new to me products and one new to me brand. Are you a subscriber? What are your thoughts?

June Empties

Here's what I've been using up in June:

Dr Dennis Gross Hyaluronic Marine Oil Free Moisture Cushion 15ml which was a sea scented light gel cream and seemed perfect for my combination skin. Very nice. Would maybe buy.

Organic Trevarno Lavender & Geranium Cleansing Oil 5ml which was lovely to use. I'll definitely buy full size when my stash reduces a bit.

Bodhi & Birch Lemon Water Hydrosol 15ml* I was part of the focus group for the new #SuperfoodsSeries and totally fell for this beauty. See my review HERE. I've just opened a full size I was gifted for taking part in the group. Totally lush.

Enchanted Plants Blossom Hydrating Facial Mist 100ml which I totally fell head over heels for. See my review HERE. Will definitely buy again.

001 Pure Lavender Hydrosol Toner 100ml* which was lovely to use. See my review HERE.

Geo Mitchell Relax Bath Salts (one use sample)* these were lovely and I'd consider buying full size. They featured in my recent Shopping my Stash post.

Alteya Organics Bio Damascena Ageless Rose Otto Eye Cream sachet** which gave several uses (I'd reckon they'd be enough in this sachet for a week's holiday). Really lovely. Full size is on the wishlist!

Luxe Botanics CAMU Brightening Cleanser 4ml a lovely citrus scented milky cleanser which made short work of make up and daily grime. I only got 2 uses out of this sachet but fell in love. Would buy.

Therapie Himalyan Detox Salts 100g these are my favourite bath salts. See my review HERE. They also featured in Beauty Balm Curates...with Skin Organics Clean Beauty Box in May - see HERE.

Weleda Sea Buckthorn Body Wash 20ml* in one of my favourite Weleda scents. See my review HERE. Sure to pick this up again at some point.

Beatitude Joy Bath Oil sample Joy is my favourite scent by Beatitude. See my review HERE. Will definitely pick it up again!

Bodhi & Birch Rosa Verde Bath & Shower Oil 15ml* totally lush and when I need bath oils I'll be picking this up. See my mini review HERE.

Isla Apothecary Neroli Body Oil 15ml this award-winning blend is one of my absolute favourite body products. See my review HERE. It also featured in May's Skin Organics Clean Beauty Box Beauty Balm Curates...see HERE. I just opened up a new mini and will buy full size again. Just love.

Anita Grant Nerolage Body Oil 15ml which is absolutely heavenly. I adore anything neroli and this is a real treat for the body and mind. Full size is very firmly on the wishlist.

Only & Eve Naples Grove Reed Diffuser* I absolutely loved this diffuser which I started using in December and only finished this month. See my review HERE. So impressed with how long it lasts making it excellent value. Will buy at some point either this one or another scent.

Aesop A Rose by Any Other Name Body Wash 500ml which I received from my friend Julie as a gift (at Christmas). Totally lush scent - rose petals, black pepper and cardamon. Loved the pump action bottle - great for beside the shower. Would buy again.

Love Lula Beauty Box: My Top Picks - January-June 2018

These are my top picks from the Love Lula Beauty Box* January to June (and ones which I would buy again):

In January (link) my favourite item was a much-loved favourite MOA Fortifying Green Bath Potion* - I simply love this stuff! See my review HERE.

Coming into February (link) my favourite product was Ooh! Oils of Heaven Avocado Hydrating Face Oil* - I'm a huge, huge fan of this good quality and excellent value range - see my Spotlight HERE (there have been new ones added since I wrote this post). The Avocado oil does have an acquired scent - it's very green and earthy! The oil deeply nourishes and protects the skin.

In March (link) we received Elsa's Organic Skin Food Deodorant in Ocean* (which I've still to try) but love their Dew* variety so know I'll love it. See my review HERE.

April's box (link) saw me fall for two items - Dr Botanicals Kale Superfood Nourishing Day Moisturiser* and Balm Balm's Little Miracle Rosehip Balm* - the day moisturiser is light and absorbs easily leaving my combination skin nourished and comfortable and the rosehip balm is an absolute delight! Multi-use - use it on your face as a moisturiser and on dry patches of skin on the body. It smells glorious (frankincense, rose geranium, palmarosa, juniper and mandarin).

Coming into May (link) again two products stole my heart - Alteya Organics Certified Organic Bulgarian Rose Water Spray* and Lyonsleaf Calendula & Marshmallow Balm* - I'd recently tried and loved Alteya Organics's Certified Organic White Rose Water Spray* (REVIEW) so knew I'd love the Bulgarian Rose one. My second top pick is the lovely rich and nourishing Lyonsleaf balm which softens and repairs dry or damaged skin from head-to-toe.  Use it on dry and cracked skin all over the body to nourish and protect.

Finally, this month (link) I've totally fallen for the gorgeous new perfume oil See the Moonlight by Walden Natural Perfumes* which has notes of bergamot, jasmine, rose, sandalwood and ambrette seed.

Do we share any favourites/buy agains?

May: Lately I've Been Loving

Here are my May loves:

I'm a huge fan of sample sizes which means you can try before you buy. Buy 5 with an order of £10 or more at Love Lula (sometimes there are free samples there too but mostly they start at 25p and go upwards in price). With my last #LLABP purchase I picked up 5 Alteya Organics sachets* - Rose Otto Face Wash, Rose Otto Ageless Eye Cream, Rose Otto Day Moisturiser, Rose Jasminium Illuminating Perfecting Serum and Rose Jasminium Timeless Glow Renewal Moisturizer.  I got several uses out of each sachet making them great for try me or holidays.

Along with Kelly (Love Book Groups) and Joanne (Portobello Book Blog) we went along to Emma Sailsbury's Book Launch Party at Herringbone in North Berwick. It was such a fun night (thanks Kelly for the use of your photos!) See my review of Absent (DS Coupland #4) HERE.

Emma, me, Kelly and Joanne

We went for lunch to Scran & Scallie and I had the most amazing Heritage Tomato salad, olive and tomato consomme. It was so fresh and delicious.

Of course being in Stockbridge I had to drop by The Method where I picked up a couple of bits. See my review of the Austin Austin Organic Body Cream HERE.

May is Skin Organics Clean Beauty Box 1st Birthday and along with founder Paula we collaborated with great British brands which are favourites of mine. The box was Beauty Balm curates.... (I was over the moon and then some!) See my review and what's inside HERE.

As you'll know I'm currently working through Formula Botanica's excellent Diploma in Organic Skincare Formulation. I'm nearly ready to share with you a progress report. See my initial thoughts HERE and my update HERE. The course is really fascinating and you need to put in extra hours researching ingredients. Below is my first warm blended cream. I'm currently working through the facial skincare modules and will update you very soon (and yes, my labeling will improve!)

And May could never go past without me mentioning the fabulous #SuperfoodsSeries by bodhi & birch. The new range is stunning (if I could only use one skincare range again, it'd be this). See my review HERE.

What have you been loving this month?
