*Blog Tour: The Strange Book of Jacob Boyce by Tom Gillespie

I received an ARC* free of charge in order to take part in the Blog Tour for The Strange Book of Jacob Boyce by Tom Gillespie.

A spiraling obsession. A missing wife. A terrifying secret. Will he find her before it’s too late?

When Dr Jacob Boyce’s wife goes missing, the police put it down to a simple marital dispute. Jacob, however, fears something darker. Following her trail to Spain, he becomes convinced that Ella’s disappearance is tied to a mysterious painting whose hidden geometric and numerical riddles he’s been obsessively trying to solve for months. Obscure, hallucinogenic clues, and bizarre, larger-than-life characters, guide an increasingly unhinged Jacob through a nightmarish Spanish landscape to an art forger’s studio in Madrid, where he comes face-to-face with a centuries-old horror, and the terrifying, mind-bending, truth about his wife.

My thoughts?

This book grabbed me, shook me and didn't left me go until I turned that very last page. There are two stories running throughout the book which interweave, interlap and which are very similar but not the same and I wondered if some of the connections were really happening or if they were all in my mind..

Dr Jacob Boyce works at the Glasgow University and his field is Earth Sciences. He's obsessed with a painting in the City Gallery which is entitled La Perde de L'Innocence – The Loss of Innocence which is in the style of Velanzquez, Spain's most celebrated artist. He asks for a sabbatical which his boss instantly turns down. He neglects his students and wife, Ella as his obsession takes hold. He's determined to unlock the painting's secrets and decipher it's code.

His wife Ella just doesn't understand his obsession with the painting and why he's skiving off work so much. She feels neglected and angry and one night he comes home to find his wife gone...

Who is Jude and why does she keep coming into his life. What is the significance of the triangle he keeps seeing everywhere? He decides to go to Spain to try and trace his wife and starts at his mother-in-law's holiday home. Some strange things happen which set him off on another tangent and a mad dash to Barca where things seem to go from bad to worse...

The story then flips on its head and he's back in Glasgow and you wonder was he really in Spain at all... An absolutely mind blowing read which I'm still thinking about now. Would highly recommend.

Latest in Beauty: Beauty Headliners Edit

I signed back up to Latest in Beauty last month (on the 3 months for £24 plan (3 products) which saves £3 if you subscribe month on month. See my picks from June HERE). This month the Haul of Fame product is OSKIA's award winning Renaissance Cleansing Gel (35ml - worth £15). It comes boxed making it an ideal treat or for gifting. See my review HERE.

I first tried Noble Isle's Summer Rising Bath & Shower Gel as a beauty box pick (many moons ago). I've since bought it several times full size as it's an absolute delight. See my review HERE. Inside is 75ml (£5), which is the ideal try-me or travel size.

My final pick is Juice Beauty's Blemish Cleansing Gel (60ml) which is a lot bigger than I was expecting. I've not tried a lot from this brand so I'm looking forward to testing it out!

The extras this month are codes for 25% off TanCream and 15% off your first order with OSKIA.

Of course, when I spotted Earth Kind's amazing Tea Tree & Eucalyptus Shampoo Bar 50g (£6.95) was a pick I had to select a second box this month! See my review HERE.

What have you picked this month?

Old Man & Magpie Greenhouse Soy Wax Candle

I came across Old Man & Magpie Soy Wax Candles a while ago. I've been happily burning their Greenhouse Fragrance Oil Soy Wax Candle, which is hand poured in Lancashire in small batches. I like the simple but pretty amber glass jars which are reusable or recyclable. I picked a small candles which retails at £15 with a burn time of 25hrs.

It's a really stunning aromatic scent - just like being in your grandfather's greenhouse - think fresh sunblushed vine tomatoes, salad, cucumber and watercress with basil, thyme and oregano. It's a delight (and it's got a great even burn). It would be perfect burning in the kitchen or conservatory.

Pick yours up HERE.

Sanctuary Spa: Wellness: De-Stress Warming Body Balm+Calming CBD Oil

I'd read about Sanctuary Spa's De-Stress Warming Body Balm (150ml - £10) in a magazine and it intrigued me. So when I spotted it in Sainsbury's last weekend I snapped it up along with Calming CBD Oil (45ml - £12). The Wellness range include three products, those two plus a Sleep Mist. See the trio HERE.

The Body Balm is light and absorbs quickly, has a delectable and calming scent (jasmine, patchouli & frankincense) and instantly helps you unwind and relax. It has a slight warming action which soothes and calms tired muscles and really is a pleasure to use!

To use: massage onto any tense areas (neck, shoulders and legs) before bed.

I bought the Calming CBD Oil on a whim (it was beside the body balm) and I can honestly say it's fantastic too! It's multi-tasking: use it on pulse points or in the shower or bath. Formulated with CBD, Vitamin E and Coconut oil with the same gorgeous scent of the body balm. I've found it instantly calms the body and mind before bed.

To use: apply a few drops to pulse points for soothing calm, massage on your body before you step in the shower or add a few drops to your bath for a relaxing treat before bed.

I get fairly stressed out and have various aches and pains - I've found this duo absolutely fantastic for de-stressing, soothing and calm before bed. I'd recommend!

London Balms: Hawaii Kukui Balm

I was delighted to receive London Balms's Hawaii Kukui Balm (30ml - worth £9.50) in my May Skin Organics Clean Beauty Box - the brand had been on my wishlist so I was thrilled to find it inside the best green beauty box out there!

Formulated with ingredients including Kukui Oil, Neroli Flower Oil, Rosemary & Sweet Orange Oils its a lush balm which can be used on hands, body and feet (I've also used it for flyaways). I love a muti-use product. It moisturises and protects as well as helping to heal wounds and burns - it's great for the beach or the ski slope!

Packaging is recyclable or re-usable. Pick yours up HERE.

*nknaturals: Season Specific Skincare: Summer

*gifted
Founder, Nicola very kindly gifted me the whole Summer collection - I was so touched by her kindness (and I definitely squealed with joy when I opened the carefully wrapped package!) I've been testing and trying since I received the collection and these are my initial thoughts (I'll be back with fuller reviews soon). As you'll know I adore nknaturals having first dabbled with the range in it's earlier form way back 2018 - review, and then the whole range of season oils* review. I had a little purchase from the Spring Collection see HERE and I received the Spring Nutrient Rich Oil in my May Skin Organics Clean Beauty Box.

Summer is a beautiful uplifting blend which is handcrafted in small batches and formulated with season specific ingredients to make sure your skin is always looking its very best. These are just initial musings I'll return to the blog with fuller reviews shortly.

Summer Concentrated Cleansing Balm 60ml (£25) repairs and hydrates the skin during the summer months. It'll regenerate sun damaged skin leaving it feeling clean and nourished. To use: massage a small amount over the skin, inhaling the aroma before removing with a warm damp muslin cloth. My skin's been loving this and has turned cleansing into a real ritual.

I absolutely adored Spring collection's Daily Moisturiser* - see my review HERE. So I couldn't wait to try Summer Enriched Protection Daily Moisturiser 60ml (£30) which truly is a delight. Meltingly rich it absorbs instantly on warm skin and can be used on the face, neck and decolletage. Again, it has the delicious aroma of "summer" - neroli, frangipani and cedarwood. To use: apply a small amount to the skin massaging until absorbed.

Having tried and loved Spring Deep Steam Salt Infusion review I was more than happy to try Summer's version which is a mix of home air dried rose petals, vanilla pod and seabuckthorn berries along with Atlantic sea and Himalayan salts. To use: ensure your skin is clean. Add a spoonful of the salts to a glass or ceramic bowl before carefully adding boiled water which will dissolve the salts and hydrate the buds. Lower your face over the steam and cover your head with a towel making a "tent" to keep in the steam. Sit over the steam for five minutes or so, building up to fifteen minutes as you feel comfortable with the heat.

Summer Distilled Copper Botanical Mist 50ml (£15) is one of my favourites from the range. It's been especially formulated for the summer months and can also be used on the body! To use: spritz onto the skin after the salt infusion or cleansing balm. It can also be used on the body, to cool down sun warmed skin or sprayed onto cotton pads to cool and relax tired eyes.

Rounding up the collection is the fantastic Summer Nutrient Rich Facial Oil 15ml (£15) which comes in a handy rollerball, making it great for travel. This skin loving rich and aromatic oil regenerates and repairs summer skin. To use: apply to the face at night after cleansing and awaken with nourished and glowy skin.

I've been so impressed with the whole Summer Collection - it's absolutely stunning! What are your favourites from the collection?

*Love Lula Beauty Box: July 2020

*sent to me free of charge as part of the Love Lula Accredited Blogger Program for review. It's always an exciting day when my Love Lula Beauty Box arrives! This month its worth over £46 and includes 2 full size products and two travel sizes. As ever there's a code for 20% off the brands in the box, which is valid until the 10th August.

The first thing to jump out at me was the travel size 50ml of Laidbare's wonderful Butter Me Up Organic Shea Body Butter which is sublime. I had a pot of this scented delight way back 2013 review, so I'm very pleased to have this lush jasmine scented cream back in my stash! This size is worth £10.

From The Castilian Soap Company is a full size (250ml - worth £8) of their Limited Edition Clear Bottle Castile Soap with Tea Tree Essential Oil. I'm going through a lot of hand wash at the moment so this will be very useful - I only wish it came in a pump bottle for ease of use beside the basin! (it's a nice addition to the box however).

I adore Balm Balm's Rose Floral Water Hydrosol having used it many time before. This is a handy try-me size or good for travel (30ml - £8.50). Use it as a toner or for a mid-afternoon freshen up!

The final item this month is from Urban Veda - a full size of their Soothing Clarifying Night Cream (50ml - worth £19.99!) I haven't actually used this product before but I've tried others from the Soothing range. It'll plump, renew and repair the skin overnight and the gentle aroma helps to calm mental fatigue.

It's a great box this month (as always!) Are you a subscriber? What are your thoughts?

*Love Lula: EarthKind Shampoo Bar for Dry & Coloured Hair

*sent to me free of charge as part of the Love Lula Accredited Blogger Program for review. After having tried *EarthKind's fantastic Tea Tree & Eucalyptus Shampoo Bar for Improved Scalp Health last month I jumped at the chance to try one of the others in the range.

I'm testing out their *Shampoo Bar for Dry & Coloured Hair which is lightly scented with Bergamot & Sage (£6.95 - 50g). It's also the perfect product to try for #PlasticFreeJuly as the box is recyclable.

I have to say, I'm just as smitten with this one! The shampoo bar is rich and nourishing and perfect for my dry and coloured mid-lengths. It's formulated with high-quality organic avocado and olive oils with coconut-derived cream cleansers which nourish and hydrate. Formulated for dry or chemically processed hair (I actually found it brightened what colour is left in my hair - roll on my visit to the hairdresser!) and it leaves the hair soft and shiny.

To use: wet hair, hold the shampoo bar under warm water for a couple of seconds to activate before rubbing all over your hair. Massage, then rinse and apply conditioner if necessary.

Have you tried EarthKind Shampoo Bars? If so, what are your favourites?

*Love Lula: Crazy Rumors Zodiac Collection: ARIES Lip Balm

*sent to me free of charge as part of the Love Lula Accredited Blogger Program for an honest review. I'm a huge fan of American Crazy Rumors, having previously tried and loved their Vegan lip balm in Hot Cocoa (review) and Apple Spice (review). I'm always a sucker for a quirky and fun product and their Zodiac Collection is just that!

There are 4 custom blends - Earth, Air, Water and Fire. The lip balms are natural and Vegan and made in small batches. The range of flavours is huge - check it out HERE.

ARIES Zodiac Lip Balm (4g - £4.49)* (birthdays between 21/3 - 19/4) is a deliciously aromatic blend of fresh citrus, aromatic spice and berry.

"Optimistic, courageous & independent. Like a sunny day, you’re warm and tend to see the bright side of things. Where are those shades when you need 'em? With a positive mindset, cheerful approach and a sweet smile, you’re a true go getter. Just lead the way! Aries, we think you’re pretty lit!"

I love a good lip balm me, and this one as well as being fun deeply nourishes the lips leaving them hydrated and glossy. It's also a good size for popping into a handbag or pocket.

What are your favourites from the range?

The Ghost Family Haunts: The Ghost Family Flame Wax Melts

I randomly came across The Ghost Family Flame on Instagram under the #SmallBusinessSunday hashtag and oh how glad I am! Emma (vegan soy wax melt creator) joined forces with Joseph to create a very special place on the internet - The Ghost Family Haunts where you can discover Clothing & Accessories, Prints, Crypt decor, Room Sprays, Essential Oil blends, Soy Wax Melts, Incense and the Subscription Box (which I've just signed up to!)

I couldn't resist an 8 melt pick 'n' mix box (£10) look how beautiful it is! Emma hand blends her waxy creations before individually wrapping them up in layers of wax safe paper with the illustrations designed by Joseph.

They honestly are too gorgeous to open! Inside each you'll find a highly scented soy wax scented melt with an 8 hr burn time. I selected the scents which "spoke" to me (Fragrance Library).

I selected:

Liquid Death: "Sweet like sugared twisted liquorice knots in candy striped paper bags", Cloud Girl: "blends freshly unfurled garden mint, speckled with dops of morning dew. In comes rolling, silvery storms and the gentle whisper of Cloud Girls soft, black dress. Notes of garden mint, lavender and vanilla", Shut-In: "blends pine cladding, attic dust, fire embers and oak smoke together using notes of patchouli, ho wood and frankincense with a heartstring of fresh pine tips", Lyndhurst: "there it is, just climb on up! Reach a little further and you'll be able to pick yourself the most perfect, ruby jewelled apple", Grave Visitations: "anointed with an eye opening blend of crushed holy basil, shining with the ever ringing glow of resinous eucalyptus and the cool air of apparitions. Notes of holy basil, eucalyptus, spearmint and patchouli", Cauldron Seasoning: "A witch that knows what they are doing will never forget to season their cauldron before summoning only the best conjuration. For the perfect charm, all you need is a black, shiny cauldron and the blended scent of smoke, fire and herbs", His Boots are Rising: blends threads of red vapour, bourbon & boot polish; hot embers and damp earth. This scent will always be on your mind. Notes of earth, fresh roots, tobacco and bourbon", Frogs & Toads: "cool evening air after a sweet Summer's day can always be celebrated with floral tones of night blooms. Hear the crickets sing and hear the calls of frogs and toads. Notes of verdant landscapes, cool air, light florals and violets".

I also picked three individual large clamshells which are currently out of stock - these come in at £6 each with free p&p (like the pick 'n' mix boxes).

My selection (this was my 1st order):

The Dark Gourd: All Hail The Dark Gourd: "between the embers of trees, in the deepest, darkest our of Halloween night; that's where we meet and summon The Dark Gourd from beneath the ground. The orange glow of pumpkin flesh, divine treats and rich, deep resins pierce the air as we are released from our earthly bones and float away into the moonlit sky. Notes of spice, heavy resins and sweet creams". My thoughts: this has a gentle sweet pumpkin aroma laced with spice and sweetness which is almost good enough to eat! I've been burning this one in my kitchen and it makes me want something sweet to eat!

Sabbat: "May this scent cackle through your home. Undress under the light of the moon with the scent of the forest. Ancestors meet in this sacred space with notes of incense, parchment and libations". My thoughts: it has a peppery and incensey aroma which is growing on me!

Blue Lupin Moon: "Full moon is the perfect time to capture the scent of a werewolf. Lightly trodden violets, lay under trees of birch and oak". My thoughts: I love this woody and earthy scent which has a whisper of violet.

I'll let you know my thoughts from the pick 'n' mix selection in my beauty empties post (new feature) but so far I'm impressed with this quirky and unique small brand. Follow them on Instagram HERE and HERE.

Ffern Organic Small Batch Perfume: Summer20

It's always a happy day when my new Ffern Organic Small Batch Perfume arrives! It costs £69 a quarter (32ml) and Summer20 is sublime (it arrives for the summer solstice (it arrived just slightly after). You can see my review of Spring20 HERE and Winter20 HERE. As you'll know the perfumes are created for the names on the ledger, which gives the perfume an edge of exclusivity - join the waiting list HERE.

As ever, the packaging makes my heart sing - it's a real joy to open a Ffern delivery. Inside the letterbox friendly box you'll find your full size vegan, natural EdP perfume and a sample - try the sample and if you fall instantly head-over-heels in love you're allowed to open the full size. If not, you can sent the full size back intact for a refund/the next quarter. Of course, I loved mine on very first sniff!

The sample bottle has changed to be a normal spray vial (I kind of liked the quirky little dabber bottle). As ever, there's a very informative leaflet listing the notes and story behind the scent. My bottle this time is numbered 169 and as ever the names of the noses are there too (which is a nice touch!) Thank you Elodie Durande & Francois Robert for another exquisite creation.

"Baked earth. Midsummer heat. A heady Tuscan afternoon
An early evening walk through the orange grove
Scorched earth harbouring the heat of the day"

Top Notes: Sicilian Lemon rind, Somalian Olibanum, Iranian Ferula Gummosa root, Green Mandarin, Brazilian Bitter Orange, Sri Lankan Cinnamon Leaf, Key Lime rind from Peru

Mid Notes: Calabrian Bergamot rind, Indonesian Nutmeg, Russian Coriander seed, Nepalese Jasmine, Tunisian Neroli and Egyptian Basil

Base Notes: Haitian Vetiver root, Virginian Red Cedar and Benzoin Siam from Laos

It really is a stunning summer scent which evolves as you wear it. It's citrus with spice and herbal notes as well as being slightly floral too (I love that it contains my favourite neroli). Love it Ffern!

I'm also sharing a little pic of my collection (which brings me so much joy).

Are you on the Ledger? If so, do you love Summer20 as much as me?

*Blog Tour: The Secret of Creek Cottage by Tina M Edwards

*ARC sent to free of charge to enable me to take part in the blog tour. Today I'm on the blog tour for The Secret of Creek Cottage by Tina M Edwards.

1916: While the Great War rages through Europe, in the small coastal village of Trunrowan, Cornwall, life for Loveday Nance could not be more different. With her husband Will away fighting, the reality of having a longed-for child of her own seems to be slipping away with each day that passes.
Present-day: Kitty and Ben Gridley decide to leave their busy lives in Bristol hoping for a quieter way of life in the pretty village of Trunrowan, Cornwall. Little do they realise the impact that moving into Creek Cottage will have on them. When Kitty begins to experience strange things happening at the cottage, she is certain there is a secret harboured within its stone walls.
'The Secret of Creek Cottage' is a tale that follows the lives of two families, almost a century apart.

About the author:

Tina M Edwards is an internationally published writer of poetry and flash fiction. She is editor of The Beach Hut, an online writing platform that encourages writing for wellbeing, particularly words that have been inspired by the coast and nature. The Secret of Creek Cottage is her first novel.

My thoughts?

I loved this story set in two timelines. In 1916 we meet Loveday and Will Nance who stay in a lovely wee village in Cornwall in Rowan Cottage which has it's own cove. Will is away fighting in the Great War. She misses him terribly and longs for a child of their own.

In the present day Kitty and Ben Gridley have left the city and set up home at Creek Cottage. Ben's the local dentist and Kitty is studying to be a Medical Herbalist - she's started to grow flowers and herbs in the garden and is clearing out the old shed to dry her flowers and blend her elixirs.

We learn about Loveday's daily life and work and the horrors Will witnesses in the trenches. When he send her the King's Shilling with his letter she instinctively knows she'll wear it close to her heart. The local wise woman makes contact as she knew Loveday's mother and tells her that she must come to her if she needs help.

Kitty and Ben come across a fraying ribbon which has been tangled around their cat's paw which bears a tiny coin. While clearing out the shed she finds things from the past and finds she has an urge to research the former inhabitants of the cottage. There's strange noises in the house that only she seems to be able to hear until her old friend and family visit and their daughter Ruby sees something unexplained...

Will returns from war a different man. Wounded and angry. Loveday finds she can do nothing right (today Will would be treated for PTSD) again, she turns to Mrs Comp and then things happen which change Loveday's live forever...

I loved the connections which are interwoven between the two stories which connect the past to the present.  A beautiful read which I really enjoyed and would recommend.

*Love Lula: July Accredited Blogger Picks

I very generously received this selection free of charge as a Love Lula Accredited Blogger. I've decided going forward to do an initial post of my monthly picks and then, where necessary do fuller reviews later in the month when I've had a chance to test the products more fully (my post contains one affiliate link).

This month, my first selection was a product I've wanted to try for ages - Rahua's Enchanted Island Salt Spray (£32 - 124ml)* which is gorgeous! It's truly luxe and smells wonderful. I'll be testing this out over the month and reporting back. So far, so good.

My second pick this month was from a totally new to me brand - Yin Yang Skincare's MSM Cream for Joints and Muscles (£10.95 - 60ml)* which smells of fresh limes. It's a soothing cream which contains sulphur rich MSM which soothes tired and overworked muscles and joints. I've got muscular issues and an old knee injury so I'm looking forward to testing this out. Again, a full review will follow.

I love Crazy Rumors Vegan Lip Balms and couldn't resist one of their quirky Zodiac balms. ARIES is my star sign, so that's the one I picked up! The lip balms cost a very affordable £4.49 (4g) and a mini review will be forthcoming. Lush!

As you'll know Love Lula offer samples with a purchase over £10. I've tried a few of Inika's new skincare items but not all so picked up a selection of samples. So far, I know I want their Phytofuse Renew Resveratol Serum full size! I'll let you know my thoughts in my monthly empties post.

Occasionally Love Lula offer their Accredited bloggers an extra product if they can commit to reviewing it that month. After having loved EarthKind's Tea Tree & Eucalyptus Shampoo Bar for Improved Scalp Health* last month - REVIEW I was more than happy to try another in the range. Enter their Bergamot & Sage Shampoo Bar for Dry & Coloured Hair (£6.95 - 50g). I've tried this once so far - and I'm suitably impressed - I even felt it brightened what colour I have left in my hair (roll on my visit to the hairdressers later this month). It left my hair feeling nourished and hydrated. Again, expect a review later this month.

Have you tried any of these products? If so, what are your thoughts?

Absolution Le Gommage Corps Body Scrub

I received Absolution's Le Gommage Corps Body Scrub in my Naturismo Summer Vibes Discovery Box. It's a product I'd have been unlikely to try as it costs £36 for 208g. Of course, now I've fallen head-over-heels for it!

It has a beautiful texture (almost like soft wet sand) and a fresh fruity/floral scent. The Body Scrub gently but effectively exfoliates the skin leaving it cleansed, detoxified and silky smooth. Formulated with natural softening and emollient ingredients including Aloe Vera which exfoliates the skin gently and naturally, Diatomaceous earth provides the fine granules which buff dead skin cells, Volcanic rhyolite is a exfoliating lava powder which detoxifies. Safflower, Coconut and Meadowsweet oils soothe, nourish, repair and detoxify while Arnica helps to stimulate circulation.

To use: use in the shower, I like to use it on dry skin for a scrubbier scrub.

This is the must-try of the summer! It's one of my favourite scubs this year. What Body Scrubs you are currently reaching for?

Teeny Bobeenie Boutique Wax Melts

As you'll know, I've got a slight obsession with wax melts at the moment! Teeny Bobeenie Boutique is a Fife based small business founded by Nicole Allen who hand makes all the products with love, care and attention to detail in her little workshop. I picked some items up at Market Night (plus p&p) (a limited amount of items offered for a lower price than normally and allocated on a first come, first served basis on the VIP Facebook group) as well as a Small Mystery Sample Box (£4.80 plus p&p) which contains 9 soy wax melt shapes (Nic kindly added two extra shapes free of charge to my order).

You can tell the boxes are hand packaged with love - such a gorgeous box to open. I love the branded tissue and the little stickers. It brought me lots of joy on Tuesday afternoon.

You get 9 shaped "mystery" wax melts in the smallest mystery sample box (the two freebies are also in the photo). Lots of newness! (I'll let you know my thoughts to the scents and how long they last, if I like or not in an empties post). In the photo above - Cherry Blossom & Peony (this is lush!), Chocolate Orchid, Thai Orchid, Jelly Sweets, French Lime Blossom, Replenish, Velvet Orchid, Raspberry & Sandalwood, Bliss, Duvet Day and Flamingle.

From Market night I selected: 2 x packs of Dippy Philosykos shapes which is similar to a perfume of the same name (this has a nice gentle fig scent - I like it), Snap Bars of Basil & Neroli (similar to Jo Malone), Dippy Du Son (similar to the perfume of the same name) and Black Tea & Jasmine. Rounding up my order are babies of Light Blue (similar to D&G perfume) and Coco Sandalwood (similar to Molton Brown). I'm looking forward to trying everything out!

What are your favourite scents from Teeny Bobeenie Boutique?

Shopping My Stash #115

Products marked * I've been kindly gifted for review. Odylique's unscented Ultra Rich Balm* provides deep hydration to very dry skin (dry hands, knees and elbows, here's looking at you) and it also soothes skin prone to eczema. The balm protects the skin from heat, cold and wind making it the ideal holiday companion.

I bought Trilogy's Vitamin C Polishing Powder in early JUNE. I've got a slight obsession with Vit C at the moment. See my review of their Vit C Brightening Duo* HERE. This fine grain powder exfoliant (reminds me of Dermalogica's Daily Microfoliant, although it's finer) is activated on contact with water turning it into a gentle foaming milk which will help to remove dead skin cells and brighten the skin. I've been enjoying using this and feel that my skin is definitely smoother and brighter.

I adore Klorane's Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk (which was initially a Latest in Beauty Pick+in a LIB collection box). I just find it works and I've always got it in my stash.

My hair is the bane of my life at the moment (needs a cut and colour badly). I do have an appointment booked in for the 24th July - can't wait! I was looking for something to give my hair a bit of oompf and discovered a travel size of ORIBE's Supershine Moisturising Cream in my stash - oh my goodness, it's wonderful - it give the hair much needed moisture and huge glossy shine. Luckily you only need a teeny bit (full size 150ml is a whopping £54.50).

I adore Love Lula's Ooh! Oils of Heaven and their latest launch Organic Plum Conditioning Face Oil is amazing! See my review HERE. It's one of my favourite skincare products this year. So lovely.

I picked up Madara's Acne Acute Spot Roll on in the 40% off sale at Naturisimo recently. It's great for zapping occasional spots (of course as soon as I got it I was spot free!) It's a handy size to pop in a bag or pocket for instant relief on the go.

My final pick is Walden Natural Perfume's A Gentle Rain Perfume Oil* which I received in a Love Lula Beauty Box. This 10ml size is great to travel with, whether on holiday or to the office (if we ever get back there!) It's a beautiful scent with notes of oak moss, labdanum and patchouli - it's woody and spicy and is really easy to wear.

What have you been using this week?

Elemental Herbology: Lemongrass & Nutmeg Body Wash

I picked up Elemental Herbology's new Lemongrass & Nutmeg Body Wash (290ml - £19) earlier in JUNE. This rejuvenating SLS free blend gently cleans the skin. The scent is woody with a whisper of citrus.

Lemongrass is an anti-inflammatory and helps to clear the mind while woody Nutmeg invigorates, improves circulation and eases aches+pains. A touch of Black Pepper recharges, energises and helps to improve mental alertness.

To use: apply to damp skin, massaging over the body before rinsing.

I've really enjoyed this body wash, it's got a nice scent and a gentle lather (and could quite easily be unisex - if you want to share!)
