*Blog Tour: A Wedding at the Beach Hut by Veronica Henry

Today I'm on the Blog Tour for A Wedding at the Beach Hut by Veronica Henry. It's an absolutely fabulous read which I really enjoyed. I received a free ARC* in order to take part in the tour (hasn't the book got a gorgeous cover too!)

Robyn and Jake are planning their dream wedding at the family beach hut in Devon. A picnic by the turquoise waves, endless sparkling rosé and dancing barefoot on the golden sand . . .
But Robyn is more unsettled than excited. She can't stop thinking about the box she was given on her eighteenth birthday, and the secrets it contains. Will opening it reveal the truth about her history - and break the hearts of the people she loves most?
As the big day arrives, can everyone let go of the past and step into a bright new future?

Veronica Henry is the Sunday Times bestselling author of twenty novels. She was a scriptwriter for some of our best loved dramas such as The Archers, Heartbeat and Holby City before she turned to fiction. She lives in North Devon with three sons who come and go with the tide, and she flips between walking on the beach, swimming in the sea and mixing killer Negonis.

My thoughts?

Robyn Moss has always known she was adopted. Her mum Sheila gave her a box on her 18th Birthday which her birth mother had sent with her. She's never felt the need to know...until now.

Robyn is 30 and works as a Landscape Gardener, a job which brings her so much joy. It's through work she meets her boyfriend Jake, who is the love of her life. He's steady, dependable, kind and loyal. It's all about family - they meet up with his dad, Rocky and his brother, Ethan every Friday at the beach hut named "Shedquarters" at Everdene Bay. Her folks and sister come along to chit-chat about their week and lives. Life is sweet.

When Robyn finds out she's pregnant she finds that the need to connect with her birth mother becomes so strong. Behind everyone's backs she makes tentative steps to meet her. Emily has never forgotten her baby or the love she has for Jonathan, Robyn's birth dad.  Robyn plucks up the courage to open the box which came with her to Hawksworthy Farm when she was three months old and as she does so finds there's no going back...

When Jake proposes she's the happiest she's ever been and is delighted when her friend and old neighbour, Gwen steps in to organise the wedding. Gwen's got a new neighbour, the dashing Boyd whom she grows to depend on in a very short space of time.

Tina, Jake & Ethan's mum is back on the scene hoping for forgiveness and friendship and Rocky is embarking on new relationship after all this time. Emily's story and letter made me cry but she has her happy endings too. It's a story of family, friendship, love, heartache, sadness and new beginnings.

I absolutely loved the storylines and characters (I'd love a second book to see what happens next!) A fabulous read which I highly recommend.
