*I received a complimentary e-copy to enable me to take part in the Blog Tour. Today I'm on the blog tour for the amazing The Last Stage by Louise Voss.
At the peak of her career as lead singer of a legendary 1980s indie band, Meredith Vincent was driven off the international stage by a horrific incident. Now living a quiet existence in a cottage on the grounds of an old stately home, she has put her past behind her and come to terms with her new life.
When a body is found in the manicured gardens of her home, and a series of inexplicable and unsettling events begins to occur, it becomes clear that someone is watching, someone who knows who she is … Someone who wants vengeance.
And this is only the beginning…
A dark, riveting and chilling psychological thriller, The Last Stage is also a study of secrets and obsessions, where innocent acts can have the most terrifying consequences.
My Thoughts?
Meredith Vincent used to have a glittering career as the lead singer in a popular 1980s indie band. Something life threatening happened to her that drove her to seek a quiet existence managing a gift shop at a isolated stately home. She's also happy to have her brother back in her life having been estranged from him at the height of her fame.
Things start to happen that she has no control over and she's too terrified to involve the police. Who hates her so much? She, worryingly seems to have a connection to everything that's unfolding..
The story is told in the past and present so we learn about her life growing up and about her Saturday job in the record shop which in turn took her to Greenham Common where she fell head-over-heels in love.
It's a fast paced thriller which had me on the edge-of-my-seat throughout. I had no clue as to who the killer might be, or the reason why and was quite shocked when all is revealed! Highly recommend!
Huge thanks for the blog tour support Sandra x
