June Books

I've only managed three books this month.

Nothing But Trouble by Roberta Kray.  I lent this book before I'd taken a photo of it so excuse the blurry pic from Amazon.

This story follows Jess Vaughan, a newspaper reporter and Harry Lind, ex-policeman turned private detective.  Fifteen years ago a young girl breaks into an empty house and is murdered.  The loner who lives there is charged with murder.

Jess feels something's not right about what happened and begins investigating further (with Harry's help).  Fast pacey story and great read.

My second two books are from the Fifty Shades Trilogy by E L James.  They follows the relationship between innocent Anastasia Steele and billionaire entreprenuer Christian Grey (who is rather sexy and gorgeous).  They embark on a BDSM relationship although in book two you learn more about the damaged man Christian is and their relationship develops into a more normal one.  I'm just about to start the third one - I am loving the trilogy.

Have you read any of these books?  What are your thoughts on the Fifty Shades trilogy as I know those who read it either love it or hate it?

  3. Haven't got around to the 50 shades just yet, have a few more to get through first...I did finish 'before I go to sleep' after you said you enjoyed it and have to say I was riveted, it also actually kept me guessing to the end when usually I figure it out! xx

  4. I have to admit that I have jumped on the bandwaggon with the 50 shades books as everyone else seemed to be reading them and I was feeling left out! Are they the best written books? no not by a long shot but for some reason I have been finding them pretty compelling, easy reading. I am going to scream if I read about her 'inner goddess' again though!

  5. I love these books! They were very easy to read and have quite a good story line but after a while the use of phrases etc got very repetitive!
Still didn't stop me from putting the books down though! :)
