Blog Highlights 2016

I created a month-by-month list of highlights last year (link). Here are my 2016 highlights:

January:

Discovering and loving MOA's Fortifying Green Bath Potion (I now always have a bottle of this in my stash). It's the perfect pick me up when you are feeling run down or have the flu. See my review HERE.

February:

I became a member of the Craft Gin Club and managed to get the very last February box which contained a very special Valentine edition Edinburgh Gin (review). Remember you can use code BEAUTYBALM to get a tenner off your first box.

March:

Mark Wright author of the brilliant JT Ellington trilogy* had sent me a proof copy of his book - I also got a mention in the acknowledgements which made my day! See my review HERE.

April:

For my birthday I got the coveted bottle of Jo Loves Pomelo. So happy! (review).

We had a wonderful trip to the Isle of Eriska Hotel for our anniversary in April. See my review HERE. I'd love to go back!

May:

In May, we bought this beautiful piece of artwork created by Lynn Howarth using pastels and bought at The Velvet Easel. I simply love it.

June:

I bought my The Manchester Bee Company mug which I just adore! See my review HERE. It's absolute perfection.

I totally fell for Supernatural Beauty's Redemption Face Oil (review) and full size is on the ever expanding wishlist.

Joanne, at Portobello Book Blog organised an "Edinburgh Authors & Bloggers meet-up" at Brown's in George Street. We all had such an amazing time and it was so much fun (it's now grown into a lovely regular thing). See Joanne's post about the afternoon HERE.

July:

Trying new to me brand Bloomtown Botanicals*. The range is exquisite and very reasonably priced. See my initial thoughts HERE.

August:

August saw us have an extravagant foodie trip of England! See my post HERE. We also had the real pleasure of meeting Elijah Choo of Bodhi & Birch and Andy (who writes Pampered Prince) and is also a top facialist (link)

Another highlight was picking up a bottle of #damnrebelbitches a perfume collaboration between Sara Sheridan and Sarah McCartney from 4160Tuesdays. It's absolutely exquisite. See more details HERE. I also was delighted to meet Sara at a recent bloggers and authors meet up.

A third highlight was buying a bottle of Miller Harris's Vetiver Insolent EdP which I absolutely adore. I'll always have a bottle of this in my stash.

September:

Beautiful sunflowers at the Allotment made me happy in September.

October:

In October, I totally fell for ooh! oils of heaven** which are available at Love Lula. You can see my Spotlight on them HERE.

I also loved Bodhi & Birch's new Sicilian Rose Body Oil* which is exquisite. See my review HERE.

Going to the fabulous Portobello Book Festival, listening to a few authors and getting some books signed. Day was made!

November:

I received a proof copy of Cesca Major's latest launch The Last Night* which I loved. See my review HERE.

My Pickering's Gin baubles. Perfection.

Here's a sneak peak of them on the tree!

December:

The Nature of Beauty book - Imelda Burke's long awaited book which if you pre-ordered it via Content Beauty it came with a lovely sample pack. See my initial thoughts HERE.

  1. Loved seeing your yearly highlights, it looks like you had so much fun! I am doing a Yearly Overview on my blog too, but this idea to break it down month by month, sounds great. Looking forward to reading your 2017 highlights xo
