Mio Workout Wonder Invigorating Muscle Motivating Gel 30ml

After a morning gardening on Sunday (lots of bending and stretching) I decided to reach for Mio's Workout Wonder. I received this in my recent Cult Beauty GWP and it's fabulous!  I'll definitely buy this when my sample size runs out (£21 for 100ml).

You can use this pre and post exercise and Mio says it's an "energy shot for your muscles".

The light cream/gel absorbs quickly reviving, energising and cooling muscles instantly and easing aches and pains.  It is also great to use after a hard day at the office! It smells lovely too! Ingredients include menthol, V-Tonic TM, Arnica, Horse Chestnut, Murumuru Butter, Spearmint and natural Magnesium.

Massage one or two pumps onto legs, back, neck and shoulders in need of some TLC - you will feel it working within a few minutes.

Free from parabens, petroleum, synthetic fragrances and colours, xenoestrogens, PEGs, glycols and phalates.

And a gardening update...

I've put my seeds in at my veggie plot but not much has come through yet apart from the start of some potatoes, little beetroot and lettuce seedling and I've just planted two courgette plants I grew from seed on my kitchen windowsill.  I've also added to my herb garden (and the weeding never ends..) Looking forward to some nice home grown produce again this summer.

Roullier White purchases

Roullier White, which is a lifestyle boutique is situated on Lordship Lane in East Dulwich, London and sells perfumes, candles, household products and gifts. I noticed on Twitter that over the last Bank Holiday weekend they were offering free P&P. After having a browse I treated myself to a new bottle of scent.

I chose a perfume by Infusion Organique, a brand I've not heard of before. The company is run by a two sisters-one husband team. They source ethically produced organic raw materials to formulate their perfumes and home fragrances.

The scents are made with Organic alcohol (made from Certified Organic Sugar Cane), Organic oils, extracts and botanicals.

I chose the scent which appealed to me most from the choice of four - Sands of Morocco Organic EDP (11ml roll on - £12). I just loved the description of it "close your eyes, and wander through the fresh flower and food stalls of the local Moroccan Souk. Inhale the spices drifting in the desert wind of North Africa ride the train from Marrakech to Casablanca to Tangier. Smell the fresh vanilla first brought to Morocco by the French in the time of Berber Kings".

The scent has a top note of Lemon Zest, middle notes Lily of the Valley, Rose Blossoms and Ylang Ylang with base notes of French Vanilla, Musk, Sandalwood and Oakmoss.  The scent starts off (on me) fairly sweet and floral mellowing to woods, vanilla and incense. It is long lasting for an organic scent. I love it!

I also received a vial of "Perfume of the Month" - Jovoy - Rouge Assasin EDP which is inspired by the 'femmes fatales' of 1920s Paris - a mix of innocence and seductiveness. 

While chatting to Roullier White on Twitter I found out that they offer a sample service for most of their scents. Most are around the £2 mark for a 2ml decant.  P&P is £2.50 and if you decide to buy a full size bottle you are given a code to get free P&P within one month - a brilliant idea to try before you buy!  I ordered on Friday and my samples arrived first thing on Saturday morning - what great Customer Service.

I've totally fallen for No.002 Gorse EDT by Laboratory Perfumes. I simply love it. It has notes of Gorse blossoms, fresh greens and citrus and on me I can detect a coconut note. (I so want a full size bottle of this!)

My other samples are - 4160 Tuesdays Says Alice, Connock London Kukui, Atelier Cologne Vanille Insensee and Nasomatto Narcotic Venus - these are all amazing too and fuller reviews to follow.

I was really pleased to be sent a May edition of Love Me Beauty box* to review. I chose menu 2 from the three choices. The box costs £10 plus P&P.

Raw Skincare Natural Lip Balm in Ginger 4.5g (£1.98) a super spicy moisturising lip balm which smells like ginger beer.

GO Stationery Pocket Notebook Set in Tulip Garden x 3 notebooks (RRP £5) these little notebooks are perfect for popping in your handbag to write lists and notes on the go.

The final item in the box is three tea bags from Teapigs in Rooibos Creme Caramel flavour (each teabag is worth 65p).  Rich in antioxidants this tea has a sweet and rich flavour.

Dinner at Aizle

A couple of Fridays ago me and David braved wet and blustery weather to go and dine at Aizle (which means hot ember or spark), a new "neo-bistro" at 107-109 St Leonards St, Edinburgh (Wed-Sunday dinner only).

For £35 you get 3 snacks plus 4 courses - what make the menu unique is that you get a list of ingredients - you are asked if there is anything you don't like on the list and if so these will be excluded from your meal.

Fresh seasonal produce is used and you'll get the best from the day's market.

Chef Stuart Ralston cooked for celebs at Barbados's Sandy Lane Resort and his wife Krystal Goff is a mixologist having worked in some of New York's top Cocktail Bars.

We started with a couple of cocktails and being a lover of all things rose I had to have "The Rose".

Totally sublime and right up my street - this was a cocktail I knew I'd love - it contains raw rhubarb, tequila, rose water, rhubarb bitters and lime (I loved it so much I had a second!) I also love the fact that you get a wee top up carafe along side.

Our first snack was Chicken cracker with burnt onion mayo and sea scurvy flowers and was delicious. We also had bread served with butter and a white soft cheese sprinkled with herbs.

This was followed by an single fresh oyster each and then a cold soup Ajo Blanco with almond, wild garlic and sourdough bread.  Our starter was Chicken Wings with Salt baked Celeriac, Pear and Hazelnut. 

Fish came next and we had Grey Mullet with peas, broad beans, gremolata and sea lettuce. This was a fresh and light tasting dish, ideal for spring.

Our main was Hogget with Rock Clams, Sheep's curd, Mustard seeds and Spinach. The hogget melted in the mouth and the flavours went well together. 

We finished up with a chocolate delice with chocolate soil and lemon curd with biscuits. This was tasty but I felt the lemon flavour didn't really go with chocolate.

A really great dining experience and can't wait to go back.

I was recently sent The Body Deli's Living Hair Sprouted Mineral Greens Shampoo* (8oz - £18.50) and Conditioner* (8oz - £18.50). 

Made with potent raw sprouted mineral greens and fresh botanical juices the products are formulated to stimulate the hair follicle to encourage rejuvenation and re-growth.

The hair is fed with protein, minerals and and enzymes and helps to bring dull hair back to life making it shiny, healthy and full of volume.  SLS free, the shampoo creates a rich lather and has a nice minty scent.  Suitable for all hair types including coloured hair.  To use: focus on the scalp and massage in for 2 minutes allowing the ingredients to absorb and do their work.

The conditioner also needs to be massaged into the scalp for 2 minutes and is recommended to use it for 90 days for best results. It contains essential oils of Blood Orange & Ylang Ylang so it has a nice fruity scent.

My hair is full of life, my highlights are brightened and my hair looks and feels healthy.

Madara Refreshing Soap in Fresh Mint 250ml - I first received this in an Amarya box (now Love Lula) and loved it. This is a repeat purchase.  See my review here.

Apivita Body Euphoria Jasmine & White Tea Bath & Shower Gel 300ml* - this shower gel is simply lovely.  It lathers up well and has such an uplifting scent.  It is free from chemical nasties and the scent lingers on the skin after a shower.  Best to follow up with the matching body lotion.

The Body Deli Tahitian Vanilla Nutrient Hand & Body Wash 240g - a really delicious scented shower gel which smells of Vanilla.  See my review here.

Dr Organic Rose Otto Body Wash 250ml - one of my favourite Dr Organic scents. It lathers well and leaves the skin scented with roses.

Organic Surge Tropical Bergamot Shower Gel 250ml* - the shower gel has a fruity exotic scent. It contains essential oil of sweet orange as well as bergamot. Makes for an uplfiting morning shower. Contains no parbabens, sls and no animal testing. It lathers well leaving the skin soft, moisturised and lightly scented.  Follow with the matching body lotion to prolong the scent.

I'm liking using lighter products on my skin coming into Spring and lately I've been enjoying using bodhi Neroli Luce Revitalising Face Oil a heavenly scented light oil which revitalises and balances the skin.

I'm also loving Kimberly Sayer Ultra Light Facial Moisturizer SPF30 a delicious citrus scented light moisturising lotion. It helps to minimise shine and protects the skin.

Old favourite - REN Rosa Centifolia 3-in-1 Cleansing Water* a rose scented cleansing water which removes daily grime and make up. I tend to use this before cleansing with a balm or cream.  On non-make up days I use it alone. See my review here.

A new favourite from Yours Truly Organics - Balancing Toner* which comes from a lovely new range of products which are suitable for oily and combination skin types.  A refreshing toner which contains Witch Hazel and Aloe Vera. Full review to follow.

Indie Lee Lemongrass Calendula Body Lotion* a light and easily absorbed lotion which is scented with uplifting Lemongrass.  See my review here.

Yarok Feed Your Ends Leave in Conditioner huge fan of the Yarok range. This super light leave in conditioner nourishes your hair without weighing it down. Use it prior to blow drying for smooth and shiny hair.

Suti Honour Face Cream & Rose Water Organic Facial Spritz

Yep, you've guessed it my spending ban is over! (I've also purchased a few other things over the weekend).

As a huge Suti fan (I've tried most of their other products - see my review of the foot balm here).  

When I received the recent Only Naturals email with the latest offers I knew I had to try the new Suti Honour Coconut & Roses Face Cream (£48 for 50ml) it comes with a free Rose Water Organic Facial Spritz worth £18.50 (for a limited time only).  Along with my order I got a couple of free samples.

My initial thoughts are I love them both! I'll do a fuller review once I've tried them for a week or so.

Suti Honour Coconut & Roses Face Cream 50ml is made with Organic Rose Otto, Organic Coconut Oil and Date Seed Extract and smells lightly of rose. As you apply the cream in the morning the ritual is to honour your skin "a time for reflection, a time to be at one with yourself, a time to create a sacred space to honour". 

Suti Rose Water Organic Facial Spritz 100ml this is just amazing! Deeply scented with roses it tones, calms and refreshes the skin. It contains Rose Moon Essence, Suti's own floral essence from rich red roses that has been made under a full moon.

Both are packaged in glass bottles with pump/spray. They look stylish and luxurious. Have you used any Suti products before?

Xenca Lipstick & Lipgloss

I was recently sent two Xenca lip products to try.  Spice Lipstick* (£11.95) and Lipgloss* (£12.95) a universal shimmery pale shade (which would be perfect with a suntan).

Products are dermatologically and ophthalmologically tested, kind to the skin and the environment and cruelty free.  100% natural, paraben, petrochemical, glycols and synthetic fragrances free.

I love the fact that all packaging is recyclable and I love the amazing cardboard cases too.

Both the lipstick and lipgloss moisturise the lips and the colours are long lasting.  The swatch nearest my wrist is the gloss, then the lipstick and then the lipstick layered with a touch of gloss.

Ayo The Body Polisher & The Polishing Cloth

Susan recently contacted me to see if I'd like to try Ayo's The Body Polisher & The Polishing Cloth (£22)*. The products (The Body Cleanser, The Body Polisher, The Polishing Cloth and The Body Creme) were originally developed by Joy, Susan's sister. The Body Polisher* is a nourishing and hydrating exfoliator which gently exfoliates the skin.  It contains Apricot Seed and Ecuadorian Ivory Palm along with Kigelia, Aloe Vera and Sweet Almond Oil.  Use it with The Polishing Cloth* for a more vigorous and revitalising scrub.  Apply the scrub onto the cloth and starting at the feet massage over the body. The rich lather will clean as well as polish. It leaves the skin silky smooth, feeling alive and delicately scented.

Packaging is minimal and Susan offers "Ayo recycles" - return 2 empty containers and receive a free The Polishing Cloth, return 4 and receive The Body Cleanser or The Body Polisher and return 6 and receive a free The Body Creme.

Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Moisturizing Stick 4g - deeply moisturises the lips. Smells great too and good for the handbag or pocket.

Jane Iredale Just Kissed Lip & Cheek Stain - moisturises and tints the lips with a stain ranging from pale pink to red depending on your mood. One of my all time favourite products.
