I received my April Beautylishious Beauty Bag yesterday. I was really looking forward to receiving Lola's Apothecary mini bath oils which came in Rose & Geranium and Eucalyptus & Mint and a mini pot of Conscious Skincare Sweet Orange & Frangipani Body Polish (mine had leaked a bit and seems to be more oil than scrub) but nonetheless I'll enjoying trying it out - as it smells gorgeous.
The other items in the bag are Neutrogena Multi-Defence Moisturiser 50ml - this is full size and suitable for normal/combination skin. This retails at £7.99 and two sachets of Australian Bush Flower Essence both 3ml - Intensive Hand Cream and Face Wash.
The bags themselves have changed from hot pink organza and leopard print tissue to floral tissue and cellophane wrapped with a bit of pink raffia and the little hand made with love heart - which is a nice touch.

Harriette is doing two more bags in June & July before she has a break to spend time with her new baby. You can see the shop here.

I would never buy these because she always buys stuff from the cheap shops and charges through the roof for them..
ReplyDelete:( The Lola's Apothecary bath oils are lovely x
DeleteI love Hariettes bags, it's often a great opportunity to try some really lovely independent brands and the sneak peaks gives you enough information to decide whether you think the bag is going to be for you that month. Which is often a better informed purchase than 'blindly' subscribing to other beauty box services. Once you take into consideration the total rrp of some of those boxes and the reduction of costs to the companies when placing such large scale orders for the products, to say that Hariettes bags are 'charged through the roof' is a pretty unfair comment, is it not the nature of business to make a profit? Yes you may feel they're overpriced, but to direct that comment at the one small independent company instead of the general beauty box services is pretty unnecessary. I say well done Harriette for doing so well and clearly providing such a good product and service that her business is flourishing! She's going stronger in terms of longevity than done of the bigger companies x

ReplyDeleteI agree! Love the fact that you can come and go each month deciding whether each bag is for you by the spoiler and am really happy that her business is doing so well. She's now got several worldwide buyers. Thanks for your comments Jess x
DeleteYeah cos Glossybox and the rest give really expensive full size all the time...... Oh no wait they don't. I know which I'd prefer and its the handmade approach.

DeleteThis is a great bag this month! but all her bags are fab!
ReplyDeleteThat is a bit unfair Sara, i love Hariette's bags and for what you get i don,t think she "charges through the roof". You get more value in her bags than you usually get in any Glossybox...the bath oils and body scrub have clearly been sourced from independent companies and i have got some lovely organic brands i have never heard from thanks to Harriette x
ReplyDeleteI agree. have come across some really different brands x
DeleteI haven't heard of this before. Do you know ahead of time what a bag will contain or is it a surprise, like the beauty boxes?

There are two spoilers a month so you can see if the bag is for you or not. She's only doing 2 more just now as she's due her baby and having some time off x
