September Empties

Here's what I've been using up in September:

Aurelia Probiotic Skincare Miracle Cleanser 50ml - I've collected a stash of these from beauty boxes. Love this beautiful cleanser. See my review HERE.

Lancaster Tan Maximiser Soothing Moisturising Repairing After Sun 50ml - this definitely prolonged my tan during my summer hols and I'd buy full size next time I'm going abroad as it just works and is nice to use.

Burt's Bees Intense Hydration Night Cream 4.2g sample - from Latest in Beauty's fab Build your own Box. A lush hydrating night cream which was great to use. Full size on the wishlist! I've got a couple of these little samples to use (get approx 3 uses from each making them great for try me or travel).

Aromatherapy Associates Revive Morning (7.5ml) and De-Stress Mind (9ml) Bath & Shower Oils. Love these. Sure to pick these up again. Real luxe aromatherapy brand.

Gallinée La Culture Hand Cream 50ml* - I absolutely loved this hand cream (and am a huge fan of the brand and range of products). See my review HERE. I recently found out Harvey Nichols is a stockist so will buy when my hand cream stash reduces a bit!

John Masters Organics Rose & Apricot Hair Milk 118ml - this lasted absolutely ages! See my review HERE. I've since acquired a couple of minis in beauty boxes but I'd buy full size again.

The Body Shop British Rose Instant Glow Body Butter 50ml which had an intense rose scent (which I loved). A rich cream which melted easily onto the skin. Would buy (I received this one as a gift).

Molton Brown Coco & Sandalwood Nourishing Body Lotion 50ml - this was a hotel room freebie and I loved its coconutty spicy woody scent. I'd definitely buy as it's lovely. (I'm actually after the room spray in this scent).

Aesop Geranium Leaf Body Cleanser 50ml - this came in a gift set I treated myself to recently. Really lovely to use and I'd consider buying full size in the future once my stash reduces a bit.

Green & Spring Relaxing Shower & Bath Foam 50ml - Perfect for a relaxing long soak in the bath. Sure to buy again. See my review HERE.

bodhi & birch Mint Thé Bath & Shower Therapy 200ml - one of my favourites. See my review HERE. Just cracked open a new one!

Therapie Boost Hair & Body Wash 50ml - a multi-use product - you can use it on your hair and body. Nice. Would maybe buy again.

FoM London Age Defying Hand Serum 50ml* - which is unfortunately no longer in the range. See my review HERE. Loved it.

Mallow+White Revitalise Facial Oil 30ml* - a beautiful oil which was a pleasure to use. When I reduce this stash a bit I'll surely buy. See my review HERE.

Dahliana Wildflower Youth Serum 1oz* - I've have several of these serums both bought and gifted and I absolutely love it. See my review HERE. I'll definitely buy fab serum again as it does exactly what it says it will. One of my favourite products..ever!

de Mamiel Restorative Cleansing Balm 100ml - a simply divine cleansing balm and one everyone should try at least once! Loved it and will re-purchase at some point. See my review HERE.

I got the Neal & Wolf Daily Shampoo & Conditioner sachets (7ml) as Feel Unique pick n mix picks. These were both really nice to use and I'd maybe buy full size.

GM Reverie is a new Californian brand available at a beautiful world. Their MILK Anti-Frizz Leave in Nourishing Treatment (3ml sample) is fantastic. It leaves the hair static free, healthy and nourished. I'm definitely keen to try more from the brand.

My final two empties this month are perfumes (I rarely finish perfumes (or lipsticks!)

30ml Jo Malone Grapefruit Cologne (a favourite which I'll re-purchase) and Lime Basil & Mandarin 9ml (a scent of which I've used more in body products previously) but I'd buy a full size scent now.

What have you been using up this month?

Live in the Light: Annmarie Skincare

Sue at Live in the Light recently contacted me to ask if I'd like to try and review some products by Annmarie Gianni. She absolutely swears by this beautiful brand is the distributor for UK and Europe customers.  It's a brand I hadn't heard of before and was founded by Annmarie and Kevin. Read their story HERE.

Here's the samples I was sent here:

And my thoughts?

Aloe-Herb Cleanser sample* (full size 50ml - £23.65, 100ml - £37.75) - which has a light milk texture and a lovely refreshing citrus scent. It removes all dirt, impurities and make up. The cleanser is Aloe-Vera based and infused with herbs and natural oils. The cleanser works well and keeps the skin feeling soft, moisturised and never tight or uncomfortable. Suitable for all skin types.

To use: AM/PM. Apply to damp skin, massaging before rinsing.

Neroli Toning Mist sample* (full size 50ml - £25.15) - this is gorgeous and one of my favourites. An Aloe-Vera infusion with the calming scent of Neroli. The mist softens, balances and hydrates the skin.

To use: AM/PM after cleansing or to mist throughout the day to refresh the skin and the perfect pick-me-up.

Radiant Skin Silk sample* (full size 100ml - £26.75, 200ml - £41.75) - a light body milk which absorbs instantly. It has been formulated for dry and dehydrated skin types. Sunflower Seed Oil nourishes while Aloe-Vera hydrates and smoothes. Essential oils of Rosewood and Frankincense give the lotion an earthy floral scent. You can also use it sparingly on your face to nourish and repair.

To use: apply daily after a bath or shower.

Unscented Facial Oil sample* (full size 15ml - £39.30) - which is a herb infused oil and suitable for sensitive skins. It helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles as well as nourishing and rejuvenating the skin. Formulated with Grapeseed, Pomegranate, Cranberry and Rosehip oils and is suitable for all skin types but especially sensitive.

To use: Apply to clean skin massaging until the oil is absorbed.

The final sample although effective I didn't really like its scent (which I think is a big thing in the enjoyment of a product, well for me anyhow). The Ayurvedic Facial Scrub sample* (full size 50ml - £22.75) is a blend of Moroccan Rhassoul Clay, Fenugreek, Rosemary and Shavegrass (and smells of curry powder!)

It sloughs off dead skin cells exfoliating the skin and absorbing excess oil leaving the skin radiant and renewed.

To use: combine 1tsp of the powder with a few drops of water in your palm to form a paste. For a richer scrub blend with a small amount of cleanser or oil. Massage the paste onto the skin before wiping with a wet warm cloth. Use 2-3 times a week.

Have you used any Annmarie Gianni products before? Pick yours up HERE.

September: Lately I've Been Loving

This sunflower at the Allotment - not mine unfortunately! So pretty and uplifting.

Ouli's Ointment* (50ml - £21) which is a lush multi-purpose balm created by Stephanie who was inspired by her grandmother's use of natural remedies to cure all. The ointment is made with Olive Oil, Beeswax, Chamomile oil and Vitamin E. It moisturises the skin, makes a great eye balm, smoothes and heals chapped lips, tames flyaways and calms cuts and burns. As you'll know I adore a multi-purpose product and this one does it all and has a pleasant floral/herbal scent.

With having internet problems earlier in the month (and a lack of services for nearly 7 days) I'm way behind on my usual posts. My September Craft Gin Club box featured Elephant Gin - including mini bottles of the original gin and sloe gin with a special bigger bottle made exclusively for members. Divine chocolate and delicious ChariTea Red completed the box. Remember you can get a tenner off your first box with BEAUTYBALM.

I picked Kat Von D make up items from Love Me Beauty this month. I also loved that instead of a box we got a pretty make up bag.  You can get £21 worth of credits when you join using SANDR174. The lipstick is such a gorgeous shade (MAGICK) and I also love the packaging. Next month's top choices are by Benefit (so hurry if you want to get the Kat Von D).

I've been loving using these beautiful face oils by Ooh! Oils of Heaven* which you can buy at Love Lula. I'ts been great having a choice every day depending how my skin is feeling. Expect a review soon!

I was recently a tester for a new range of body oils over at Bodhi & Birch - you can see the stunning range available HERE. I've been trying the gorgeous Sicilian Rose* body oil which has an almost serum like texture and the scent is aromatic and rosey. Again, expect a review soon!

This new candle* by Beatitude is simply stunning. It most definitely "comforts" and is scented with mandarin, bergamot, clementine, geranium, lavender and eucalyptus. Expect a full review soon!

I came across Albus & Flora when browsing MyShowcase. They offer tinted (and a clear) lip balms which have a SPF30. They are really luxe with great packaging which is practical but pretty and offer wearable shades. The balms are formulated with alpine rose extract, cranberry, raspberry seed, seaberry, blackcurrant, avocado, grape, jojoba and sunflower oils.  The tinted balm gives the lips a light sheen of colour. Expect a fuller review shortly. I just wanted to sing their praises right now as they are so gorgeous!

What have you been loving this month?

Bloomtown Botanicals Review

I first mentioned Bloomtown Botanicals HERE and I now feel I've had time to try the products properly. I've been really impressed with how effective, lovely and reasonably priced they are.

The range is simply stunning and I love the simple but pretty packaging which is all recyclable.  If you return a clean jar back to Bloomtown Botanicals (Jars for Stars) you can collect stars which can be built up to receive discount coupons (an idea which I think is great).

3 Soap Sampler* (£3) are 3 x soap samples in a drawstring bag (as well as great for trying they'd also make a great Secret Santa or small gift). I took mine on holiday. I like that you can choose which ones you'd like from the range of scents.  The soaps are handcrafted in small batches and are free from palm oil, SLS, synthetic colours, detergents, animal products, wheat and parabens. Love these! I also love their clever travel soaps.

Here are the range of scents:

The Meadow: Lavender, Rose Geranium & Chamomile
The Grove: Blood Orange & Pink Grapefruit
The Woods: Vetiver, Cedar & Bergamot
The Cafe: Coffee, Hazelnut & Vanilla
The Rose Garden: Rose & White Florals
The Hedgerow: Blackberry & Honeysuckle
The Spring: Unscented Blue Clay & Indigo Leaf (sensitive skin)
The Clearing: Black Clay & Tea Tree (oily, acne-prone)

Bloom Balm - Tinted* (£4.40 - 15g) which comes in a cute little tin. The 100% Organic Tinted balm is made with Organic Beeswax, Cocoa butter, Sweet Almond, Jojoba and Castor oils, Vitamin E and essential oils of Peppermint, Lavender, Lemongrass and Rosemary and is tinted with natural pink and red clay. It lightly tints the lips and smells gorgeous. Again, I love this.

The Meadow Pink Himalayan Salt Soak* (£10 - 285g) I'm already a huge fan of Himalayan salts and the combination of salts, Vitamin E, Sweet Almond oil and essential oils of "The Meadow" - Lavender, Rose Geranium and Chamomile is a total winner in my book and perfect for a relaxing pamper.

The Meadow Sugar Scrub* (£12 - 285g) which has just the perfect amount of scrubbiness and has the delicious "The Meadow" scent. I've used the scrub on both my face (gently) and body and it reveals radiant and healthy skin.

The Spring Blue Clay & Indigo Leaf Soothing Mask* (£10 - 60ml) is a 100% allergen-free mask which is suitable sensitive skins. Formulated with Blue Bentonite Clay, anti-inflammatory herbs and plant glycerine (which stops the mask drying your skin). Again, a really beautiful product.

I've been really impressed with everything I've tried. See the ranges available HERE

I'll definitely be picking up some Stocking Fillers and I'm after one of the Roll-on Perfume Oils and a candle next!

Bloom Perfumery: Yearly Sample Pack: September 2016

My Bloom Perfumery September sample pack arrived yesterday and this month it's #LucaTurinApproved - Perfume writer and co-author of the perfume lover's bible "Perfumes: The A-Z Guide" of which I have an early edition and which has given me hours and hours of reading pleasure.

Onto the perfumes this month which have all recently featured on Luca's blog:

Baruti Berlin in Winter (Indigo RMX) Extrait de Parfum (30ml - £80, 1ml - £5) which has notes of amber, cassis, coffee, frankincense, iris, lavender, leather, mastic, myrrh, plum, rose and whisky. I initially didn't like this scent but it's definitely growing on me.

AEON 001 Extrait de Parfum (65ml - £200, 1.2ml - £10) which was the one which initially jumped out at me. With notes of tobacco and vetiver. Luca says "the best vetiver in a long time". It is blended with a distinct note of honey and white flowers with a touch of smoke and resin. Love!

Angela Ciampagna Liquo EdP (50ml - £95, 1.6ml - £5) which is really unusual and has a distinct liquorice aroma making it quite mouthwatering. With top notes of lavandin, violet and lemon with a heart of anise, licorice, straw and coumarin with a base of incense, vetiver and tonka beans.

.vero.profumo. Mito EdP (50ml - £138, 1.2ml - £5) with top notes of green leaves, a heart of champaca, magnolia grandiflora and tuberose with a base of galbanum and hyacinth. It opens with a green freshness developing into a creamy heady floral with a woody base. Like this one a lot.

Nishane Sultan Vetiver Extrait de Parfum (50ml - £120, 1ml - £5) which is a mix of vetivers from all over the world - Java, Brazil, Haiti and Bourbon) and is heady and exotic. It has top notes of absinthe, Java vetiver, bergamot and Peruvian pepper a heart of Bourbon vetiver, neroli, Haiti vetiver and tonka beans with a base of amber, Brazil vetiver and leather. Huge fan of this perfume house, my favourite being Boszporusz.

Just landed is Brocard Queen of Spades Modern EdP 1.5ml (which I can't actually find online yet!) It has top notes of citruses and mango, a heart of jasmine, orange blossom and white rose and a base of patchouli, vanilla, marshmallow and white musk and is very fruity and sweetly edible.

What are your thoughts on this month's selection?

Botanicals: Nourish Body Polish: Organic Beauty Week 2016

I've been testing out Botanicals Nourish Body Polish with Wild Rose & Rose Geranium (70g trial size)* (full size 175g - £24) and it's absolutely beautiful. It has just the right amount of scrubbiness and it smells deeply of roses.

The range is hand made in small batches in rural England. Products are 100% natural and are certified organic by The Soil Association.

Made with raw organic cane sugar, Himalayan mineral crystal and a blend of anti-ageing essential oils including wild rose and rose geranium. The polish removes dead skin cells, regenerates and rejuvenates the skin.

The scrub is included in a special offer for the Soil Association's Organic Beauty Week which ends on 25 September. See more details here.

To use: remove a small amount of polish and mix with a little water between your palms, spread over the body, adding more water until all the granules have dissolved. Rinse.

An effective and beautiful product which smoothes and softens to reveal younger looking and softer skin.

Claudia Louch Botanical Skincare: Botanical Cleansing Lotion

I've been testing out Claudia Louch Botanical Cleansing Lotion (£37.40 for 240ml)* which makes cleansing into an indulgent ritual. It is pricey but I'd reckon the tube would last at least 6 months (and probably longer) as you only need a tiny amount (and the tube is huge).

Suitable for all skin types (although the lotion has quite a strong floral scent) and packed in a functional plain tube and box.

The cleansing lotion produces a gentle lather which is derived from coconut and sugar beets. Chamomile, Aloe Vera, Cucumber and Green Tea are the active ingredients.

84% natural, hypoallergenic, allergy tested, non-comedogenic and chemical free. Packaging is recyclable.

To use: wet skin and add a tiny amount to the palms lathering before massaging over the skin and rinsing.

Nice to use, the cleanser feels comfortable on the skin and leaves it feeling nourished and clean.

Have you used any Claudia Louch Botanical Skincare products?

Madara Oil-to-Milk Scrub

I've been testing out Madara's Oil-to-Milk Scrub (60ml - £24)* which gently exfoliates the skin.

The scrub, which has a gel like texture cleanses and buffs with apricot and oat molecules which bind to dirt and impurities removing them from the skin while gentle wax microbeads clean blocked pores and polish while stimulating skin cell regeneration.

To use: apply to dry skin in circular motions (avoiding the eye area). Splash some water onto your skin and the oil turns to a milk which cleans the skin.

Use 2-3 times a week for radiant and healthy skin. Suitable for all skin types. Pick yours up at MyShowcaseNaturisimo or Content Beauty & Wellbeing.

I'm a huge fan of the this scrub which leaves my skin feeling polished, clean and looking glowy and healthy.

See my other Madara reviews: Micellar Water (love!), Time Miracle Cellular Nutrients Toning Mist* and Refreshing Soap.

What's your favourite Madara product?
