*Love Lula Beauty Box: May 2021

*I receive the Love Lula Beauty Box complimentary as one of their Accredited Bloggers for an honest review. This month the contents are worth £68 and contains 4 full size products!

What a great box! The first thing to jump out at me was my fav Organic Works. Inside this month is a full size Lavender Hand Wash worth £10. For me, hand wash is always a welcome item in a beauty box as in these times I go through it by the gallon! I'm also a fan of their Bergamot Hand Wash* (review) Looking forward to this 'un!

As soon as the latest Walden Natural Perfume - A Morning Star EdP arrived I rushed out to buy a 15ml spray. See my review HERE. Inside the beauty box this month is a full size natural perfume oil rollerball 10ml worth £22.

I've used Bowe Organics Lash Oil before and inside the box this month is their Brow Oil 10ml which is worth £17. It'll help to thicken and strengthen and grow your brows.

Rounding up the box this month is Urban Veda's Purifying Day Cream 50ml which is worth £18.99. I've used this cream before. It's suitable for oily and congested skin types and has a minty herbal aroma.

Love Lula: Walden Natural Perfumes: A Morning Star Natural Perfume Purse Spray

I recently spotted a new Walden Natural Perfume over at Love Lula and you know the drill, I had to snap one up to try it. I chose the 15ml purse spray which retails at £26. A Morning Star EdP is blue in colour and simply boxed.

The range of perfumes (I'm a huge fan of Two Eternities - see my review HERE) are made from the finest natural absolutes, resins and essential oils. The perfumes are named after Henry David Thoreau's seminal work Walden. The book which is part meditation, part handbook for simple living and natural surroundings and Walden Natural Perfumes walk in his footsteps.

“The light which puts out our eyes is darkness to us. Only that day dawns to which we are awake. There is more day to dawn. The sun is but a morning star.”

A Morning Star opens with a strong note of lavender which mellows quite quickly and notes of bergamot and grapefruit appear. With heart notes of Rose di Mai, ambrette seed and chamomile and base notes of sandalwood, orris butter, cabreuva wood and orange flower.

I'm really enjoying wearing the perfume and find I like it best when it's settled. Softly floral with hints of citrus and woody depths (you can pick up a small sample if that suits you better to try before committing. These come in at £3 for a 2ml rollerball (a sample you can buy with a £10+ purchase) or a 5ml trial size at £12). It's one of my favorites from the range.

*Love Lula Beauty Box: December 2020

*Sent to me free of charge as a member of the Love Lula Accredited Blogger Program for an honest review. December's Love Lula Beauty Box arrived on Saturday and for me the star of the box is the new Walden Natural Perfume - Tonic of Wildness (inside is 10ml of the perfume oil which is worth £17). As ever, there's a generous 20% off the brands in the box. Sign up to the Beauty Box HERE.

It's absolutely stuffed full! Inside the box this month is:

2 x 50ml The Castilian Soap Company Castile Soap Travel duos in fragrance free and lavender. Lets face it, at the moment liquid soap is on everyone's shopping list! Handy for anyone travelling over Christmas/for use when out and about - there's not always soap in toilets away from home or to use at home. The 50ml size retail at £4.50 each.

Walden Natural Perfumes Tonic of Wilderness Perfume Oil Rollerball 10ml (£17). This is the latest launch and is gorgeous! It has top notes of Bergamot, Grapefruit and Sour Orange, a heart of Black Pepper, Cardamom and Cabreuva with base notes of Iris Pallida and Ylang Ylang. A review will come of this one! It's lush.

From Soul Tree is their Hand & Foot Cream Kokum & Honey with Mountain Rosemary 100g (£14.03). I do love a multi-use product, so looking forward to trying it. It's very rich and nourishing with a pleasant herbal aroma.

From popular brand Ayumi is their Bio-Active Fairness Daily Intensive Facial Night Cream 50ml (which is presented in a huge box!) (£8.99). The cream absorbs quickly and has a fairly neutral scent. It's suitable for all skin types and good for marks, blemishes, age spots and pigmentation. It'll also repair, plump and rehydrate when you're sleeping.

Rounding up the box are 2 x 3ml sachets of Kiss the Moon's fantastic DREAM Night Cream for Feet. I reviewed this product HERE.

A useful box with little touches of luxury this month. What are your thoughts?

Shopping My Stash #115

Products marked * I've been kindly gifted for review. Odylique's unscented Ultra Rich Balm* provides deep hydration to very dry skin (dry hands, knees and elbows, here's looking at you) and it also soothes skin prone to eczema. The balm protects the skin from heat, cold and wind making it the ideal holiday companion.

I bought Trilogy's Vitamin C Polishing Powder in early JUNE. I've got a slight obsession with Vit C at the moment. See my review of their Vit C Brightening Duo* HERE. This fine grain powder exfoliant (reminds me of Dermalogica's Daily Microfoliant, although it's finer) is activated on contact with water turning it into a gentle foaming milk which will help to remove dead skin cells and brighten the skin. I've been enjoying using this and feel that my skin is definitely smoother and brighter.

I adore Klorane's Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk (which was initially a Latest in Beauty Pick+in a LIB collection box). I just find it works and I've always got it in my stash.

My hair is the bane of my life at the moment (needs a cut and colour badly). I do have an appointment booked in for the 24th July - can't wait! I was looking for something to give my hair a bit of oompf and discovered a travel size of ORIBE's Supershine Moisturising Cream in my stash - oh my goodness, it's wonderful - it give the hair much needed moisture and huge glossy shine. Luckily you only need a teeny bit (full size 150ml is a whopping £54.50).

I adore Love Lula's Ooh! Oils of Heaven and their latest launch Organic Plum Conditioning Face Oil is amazing! See my review HERE. It's one of my favourite skincare products this year. So lovely.

I picked up Madara's Acne Acute Spot Roll on in the 40% off sale at Naturisimo recently. It's great for zapping occasional spots (of course as soon as I got it I was spot free!) It's a handy size to pop in a bag or pocket for instant relief on the go.

My final pick is Walden Natural Perfume's A Gentle Rain Perfume Oil* which I received in a Love Lula Beauty Box. This 10ml size is great to travel with, whether on holiday or to the office (if we ever get back there!) It's a beautiful scent with notes of oak moss, labdanum and patchouli - it's woody and spicy and is really easy to wear.

March Empties

I actually used up the hand washes just before the Corona Virus became very real for us in the UK. Hope everyone is staying well and safe. Products marked * I received as a Beauty Shortlist Judge.

Olverum The Body Oil 10ml - I love the bath oil by the same brand so my interest was piqued to try the body oil which came, I think in a Latest in Beauty Box. Lovely to use, I'd definitely pick up again.

Tom Daxon Sicilian Woods 4.5ml EdP - which I received in a sampling box last birthday as a gift from hubby. See my thoughts HERE. This and Resin Sacra were my hands-down favourites and I'll definitely buy full size of both at some point.

As you know I was delighted to be asked to be a judge again at the recent Beauty Shortlist Awards and fell head-over-heels for the stunning Award Winning Desavery. I especially adored STELLAR Daily Serum* (it's scented with truly uplifting Bergamot Essential Oil) and SMOOTH Hyaluronic Acid*. A truly wonderful range which I'll buy again soon as I can.

Walden Natural Perfumes Castles in the Air EdP 15ml was an absolute delight. It featured in my project 10 pan (which I'm still slowly working through - see HERE and HERE (that's me now used up 4, so it's def a long process!)

I loved trying Evolve's Daily Apple Hair & Body Wash 50ml which was the perfect try-me-size/for travel. I loved it's light apple scent and how well it worked as a hair and body wash (full size is on the wishlist).

I'm a huge, huge, huge fan of Molton Brown's Christmas scent Frankincense & Allspice Hand Wash 350ml - I normally pick some up in the sale - but it sold out really quickly. I'll definitely be picking some up when it launches next October. See my review HERE.

I also adored Noble Isle's Tea Rose Hand Wash 250ml which has a delectable rosy scent (I want to try more from this range!). See my review HERE.

Corinne Taylor Spirit Room & Linen Mist 100ml - I love this award winning brand and I adored Spirit! It's an earthy and grounding blend with sage, palo santo and cedarwood and I was pretty upset when I used the last drop! Adds to wishlist once again..

What have you been using up this month?

Shopping My Stash #113

I've not been purchasing as much just now in these uncertain times (I've sort of lost my beauty and reading mojo - though I'm hoping they come back!) I'll be doing lots more shopping my stash posts/reviews of products I already have. Products marked * I've been gifted for review.

I absolutely adore Lush's Sleepy Body Lotion which really is a hug in a jar. It's perfect to use before bed for restful sleep. It's creamy, comforting and soothing with an oaty and lavender scent. NUXE's Huile Prodigieuse Riche has the same scent as the original best seller but with a richer texture. It's good for dry skin and hair leaving them nourished and luminous. Balm Balm's Frankincense Deep Cleansing Balm* (which I received in December's* Love Lula Beauty Box) makes short work of make up and daily grime and has a delicious Frankincense scent.

From Award Winning 100 Acres Apothecary (which came in January's Skin Organic Clean Beauty Box) is their Rose & Lavender Bubble Bath which is a soothing and relaxing treat with plenty of frothy scented bubbles.

A while ago I spotted that Revolution Beauty had a lovely new skincare range and I've been trying their very affordable and gentle 12.5% Vitamin C Serum which brightens and helps make the skin glow! It's a very affordable £10 (there is a 3 for 2 offer on their website for skincare currently).

I adore Walden Natural Perfumes and Live the Life Natural Perfume Oil* is a beautiful blend of bergamot, orange, tuberose, sweet violet, sandalwood, Brazilian rosewood and China jasmine. It's a fruity floral with a hint of spice. A fuller review will follow.

My final item is from gorgeous JOIK - their Organic Pink Grapefruit Body Lotion* which has an uplifting and joyful citrus scent. See my review HERE.

This month the box is fantastic! It contains 4 full size products and is worth £47. As ever, there is a generous 25% discount code (for the brands in the box) for each Beauty Box subscriber.

WOW! The first item to jump out at me was the brand new, Walden Natural Perfumes 'Live the Life' Perfume Oil 10ml which is worth £17! It's absolutely stunning and just my kind of scent. With top notes of Bergamot and Orange, with a heart of Tuberose and Sweet Violet with base notes of Sandalwood, Brazilian Rosewood and China Jasmine. It's seriously lovely and the perfect addition to a Christmas Beauty Box.

I'm a huge fan of affordable Natura Siberica and inside is full size of their Rich Siberian White Body Butter 200ml which is worth £5.25. It'll help with cellulite and deeply nourish the skin. It smells incredible - very fruity with a slightly herbal note. Looking forward to trying this out.

Love Lula: Beauty Box: February 2019

My February Love Lula Beauty Box* arrived last week. It's absolutely brilliant this month and the contents are worth £60 (UK rolling subscription - £14.95). I receive a box free of charge as a Love Lula Accredited Blogger for an honest review.

WOW!

From Seascape Island Apothecary is their award winning Soothe Sleep Oil 8ml which is worth £10. I'm excited to see this in the box as it had been on my wishlist! They say it's a "true lullaby in a bottle" which will relax and calm both the body and mind before bed. Looking forward to testing this out and a review will follow.

A new Walden Natural Perfume is always exciting and inside is a roll-on natural perfume oil of 'A Gentle Rain' 10ml (£17) It's a blend of oak moss, labdanum and patchouli and is right up my street! Again, a review will follow.

A full-size product from PHB Ethical Beauty in the form of their New Gentle Moisturiser 30ml (£20) which is suitable for sensitive, dry and reactive skin. My skin is combo so I'll probably pass this onto a more sensitive friend.

All the products I've recently been reaching for are available to buy at Love Lula.

Love Lula Beauty Box: My Top Picks - January-June 2018

These are my top picks from the Love Lula Beauty Box* January to June (and ones which I would buy again):

In January (link) my favourite item was a much-loved favourite MOA Fortifying Green Bath Potion* - I simply love this stuff! See my review HERE.

Coming into February (link) my favourite product was Ooh! Oils of Heaven Avocado Hydrating Face Oil* - I'm a huge, huge fan of this good quality and excellent value range - see my Spotlight HERE (there have been new ones added since I wrote this post). The Avocado oil does have an acquired scent - it's very green and earthy! The oil deeply nourishes and protects the skin.

In March (link) we received Elsa's Organic Skin Food Deodorant in Ocean* (which I've still to try) but love their Dew* variety so know I'll love it. See my review HERE.

April's box (link) saw me fall for two items - Dr Botanicals Kale Superfood Nourishing Day Moisturiser* and Balm Balm's Little Miracle Rosehip Balm* - the day moisturiser is light and absorbs easily leaving my combination skin nourished and comfortable and the rosehip balm is an absolute delight! Multi-use - use it on your face as a moisturiser and on dry patches of skin on the body. It smells glorious (frankincense, rose geranium, palmarosa, juniper and mandarin).

Coming into May (link) again two products stole my heart - Alteya Organics Certified Organic Bulgarian Rose Water Spray* and Lyonsleaf Calendula & Marshmallow Balm* - I'd recently tried and loved Alteya Organics's Certified Organic White Rose Water Spray* (REVIEW) so knew I'd love the Bulgarian Rose one. My second top pick is the lovely rich and nourishing Lyonsleaf balm which softens and repairs dry or damaged skin from head-to-toe.  Use it on dry and cracked skin all over the body to nourish and protect.

Finally, this month (link) I've totally fallen for the gorgeous new perfume oil See the Moonlight by Walden Natural Perfumes* which has notes of bergamot, jasmine, rose, sandalwood and ambrette seed.

Do we share any favourites/buy agains?

Love Lula Beauty Box: June 2018

June's Love Lula Beauty Box* is absolutely fantastic! It's worth £67 this month and includes a new brand to Love Lula and a new product in the Walden Perfumes range.

So what's inside: the first thing to jump out at me was Walden Perfume's latest launch See the Moonlight Rollerball Natural Perfume Oil (10ml which is worth £17). Its a stunning blend of bergamot, jasmine, rose, sandalwood and ambrette seed. It was inspired by the Henry David Thoreau quote "I did not wish to take a cabin passage, but rather to go before the mast and on the deck of the world, for there I could best see the moonlight amidst the mountains". See my review of Two Eternities* HERE.

New brand at Love Lula is L’ODAÏTÈS and inside is a full size product worth £39Gentle Polyphenol Exfoliator (60ml) is made with dates and other skin loving ingredients. It's best applied to a cleansed face. Leave on a few moments before gently massaging and rinsing. Looking forward to testing this out.

From JOIK we have their Refreshing Facial Toner with Aloe & Sea Buckthorn Oil (100ml - £10) which I've reviewed previous. See HERE and a sachet of their Sweet Orange & Mint Body Butter.

The final item is a trial size of REN's & Now to Sleep Pillow Spray (10ml) which is a nice additional lifestyle item. I'm always happy to try out new sleep aids!

As always, there is a coupon code for 20% off the brands in the box - which is a lovely added extra.

Shopping My Stash #97

Here's what I've been reaching for this week:

From Walden Natural Perfumes I've been enjoying The Solid Earth EdP* which opens with Petitgrain, has heart notes of Patchouli, Rosewood & Black Pepper and a base of Vetiver and Amyris. It's woody, spicy and creamy and perfect for winter. The other one I've been reaching for from the range is A Different Drummer EdP* which has top notes of fruity Bergamot and Tobacco with a heart of Cedarwood, Black Pepper and Patchouli. Base notes are Amyris, Tonka Bean and Vanilla. It's spicy, woody and has a touch of sweetness.

I love picking up samples with my order (you can pick up to 5 with a £10 order for a small nominal charge - see the selection currently available HERE). This month as part of my Love Lula Accredited Blogger picks I chose REN's Satin Perfection BB Cream 3ml* (£1) which we've received before in a beauty box. This is the perfect try-me size as you get several uses from the tube. The silicone free BB cream has colour adaptive technology meaning it will adjust to your skin tone giving flawless and sheer cover (yup, full size is on the wishlist!)

From last March's Beauty Box* I've been enjoying Laidbare's For Richer for Porer Pore Minimiser Facial Masque* (50ml - £7.99) which I find perfect to use on my oily t-zone. It's formulated with Kaolin Clay which draws out impurities and toxins, Japanese Seaweed extract detoxifies and smoothes, Shea Butter hydrates, Liquorice reduces inflammation and Rose Water soothes. The masque also contains natural micro-exfoliation particles which help to stimulate cell renewal and exfoliate. It really makes my skin look bright, healthy and clear.

My final duo are from the JOIK Advent Calendar** first up their gorgeous Silky Lipbalm - Velvety Red (which is worth £6) and gives the lips a moisturising pop of colour. The second item is their Sweet Orange & Mint Body Oil 50ml which deeply nourishes the skin leaving it smelling delicious. You can see my thoughts on the Advent Calendar contents HERE.

*All items featured I received as part of the Love Lula Accredited Blogger Program.

Shopping my Stash #90

Here's what I've been reaching for:

Inika Micellar Cleansing Rosewater 100ml which is beautiful! Deeply scented with rosewater this micellar water gently removes daily grime and make up and I use it as a first cleanse on make up days and on its own on non-make up days.  It is quite small in size so I only use it as a treat!

Ere Perez Rich Olive Oil Lipstick in Surprise (4.5g - £17)* which is a bright pink shade (and out of my comfort zone!) The lipstick is super moisturising and the shade perfect for summer.

I picked up Walden Natural Perfume Castles in the Air in the new 15ml size. It has citrus, tropical flowers and lavender notes making it perfect for summer and holidays. It's one of my favourites from the range.

From Sister & Co I've been trying out their fab Raw Coconut Drink for Hair which I got in my Jet Set Set from Supernatural Beauty. See my initial thoughts on the set HERE. This treatment is great for dry, damaged and colour treated hair. It deeply nourishes both the scalp and hair leaving it looking and feeling great.

The final item I've been reaching for is Micheline Arcier's deeply nourishing Beaute Aromatherapie Face Cream** which is best suited to dry and mature skin types. I've been using it at night for a deeply nourishing treatment (it also smells incredible). This 6g sample pot costs £18 - see here for more info. Also see my previous reviews HERE and HERE.

May: Lately I've Been Loving

Here are my May loves:

We had a night away in North Berwick last week. It's one of my favourite get-away places. It just calms my soul and makes me happy. Being sunny was a lovely added bonus!

These Pip & Nut Squeeze packs are great for some nutty goodness on the go!

I first spotted The Salt Parlour on Instagram and this Energising Lime & Avocado Salt & Sulphur Scrub is gorgeous! It deeply exfoliates the skin and smells delicious. I also love the simple but pretty packaging.

I love Estonian brand, JOIK. See my review of these salts* HERE. They make for a great soak and are great value at £6.00.

Latest Launch at Love Lula is Walden Natural Perfumes. I've been testing out two of them. You can see my thoughts on Two Eternities EdP* HEREA Little Star-Dust EdP* is a heady blend of Ylang Ylang, Iris, Jasmine, Amyris and Tonka Bean. It is a beautiful rich floral which is very long lasting and was a finalist for Best Natural Beauty Product in the Natural & Organic Awards Europe 2017.

This Rose Oud Soy Wax Candle** by [M] Botanicals is simply exquisite. See my review HERE.

Phyto Botanicals have recently re-branded and are now called Vetivert & Co. I've been testing out two of their products which are gorgeous. Lumina Nourishing Facial Oil (£35 - 30ml)** is a beautiful blend of Geranium, Ylang Ylang, Sweet Orange & Ginger with a base of Rosehip, Squalane, Jojoba & Safflower oils. It absorbs easily and quickly and is suitable for dry to combination skins. The deep cleansing beauty balm (£25 - 50g)** can be used as a cleansing balm or moisturiser and contains ingredients which brighten and nourish the skin.

I've been enjoying paperbacks again and here are some in my TBR pile!
