Latest in Beauty: Grazia Beauty Advent Calendar: The first eight days

I hummed and hawed about picking up a Grazia Advent Calendar in association with Latest in Beauty. During their Halloween sale it was marked down 20% (was £85) and I thought I was getting a real bargain until Black Friday week tipped up and it went down to £42! (next year I'll be waiting!) Here's what I received during the first 8 days:

Day 1 - Anastasia Liquid Lipstick in Ashton, which I'd received before. It looks like a nice pink shade in the tube but in reality it's a matte brown. Not for me, I passed this one along.

Day 2 - Aurelia Probiotic Skincare Cell Repair Night Oil 15ml which I've used before and my skin loved. It's a decent size too.

Day 3 - System Professional Reconstructive Elixir 30ml which I use all the time. My hair loves it. A very welcome addition to the calendar. This is worth £17 and was one of the reasons I had to have the advent calendar.

Day 4 - bareMinerals Skinlongevity Vital Power Infusion - again, I've used this serum before and it's lovely.

Day 5 - St Tropez Self Tan Purity - Face Mist - I don't use self tan so I'll pass this one along also.

Day 6 - Omorovicza Illuminating Moisturiser - another product I was really excited about. Expect a review on the blog soon!

Day 7 - NARS Satin Lip Pencil - ooh I love this one! Gorgeous wearable shade.

Day 8 - Darphin Vetiver Aromatic Stress Relief Detox Oil Mask mini - I love the scent of vetiver. I'm looking forward to trying this out.

In the first 8 days there are 5 products I'm really excited about - which is not bad going! What advent calendar are you opening? (I've also got a lovely tea one I got from my friend Magi).

Latest in Beauty: Style Summer Essentials with The Sunday Times

I couldn't resist snapping up a The Sunday Times Style Summer Essentials Box with Latest in Beauty which cost £46 and is worth £229. Up until Sunday there they had been offering monthly subscribers £6 off and non-subscribers free postage making the box even more bargainous! (I'm not currently a member but was happy to receive free p&p).

It's absolutely jam packed! And now for a closer look..

I'm super chuffed with this gorgeous SUQQU Designing Color Eyes Palette (Hikaritouka) which is worth £46 alone! The shades are really beautiful and pigmented and I'm looking forward to trying them.

From MAC there is a full size lipstick (Sultry Move) worth £17.50 which is in a very wearable pink nude. Also full size is a Code 8 Precision Eyeliner in Carbon Black which is worth £28. Yet another full size! OPI Nail Lacquer Don't Cry over Spilled Milkshakes which is worth £13.50. There are two try-me make up items - Laura Mercier's Translucent Loose Setting Powder 3.5g and Smashbox Super Fab Mascara 5ml (which are great try me sizes/for travel). So far, I'm loving it!

Yet another full size! From BareMinerals we have their BarePro Glow Highlighter Drops which are worth £23. There's also a mini Clinique Take the Day Off Make Up Remover for Lids, Lashes and Lips (30ml) which is perfect for try me/holidays.

From Elemis is their Peptide4Plumping Pillow Facial 15ml, from Kiehl's their Calendula Serum-Infused Water Cream 7ml and from Paula's Choice a luxury trial size (7ml) of their Resist Intensive Wrinkle-Repair Retinol Serum.

bondi Sands Self Tanning Foam Dark 110ml I won't use this as I don't use self-tan. It's worth £9.99 (I'll pass it along!) There's a mini from Bumble & Bumble of their Hairdresser's Invisible Oil/UV Heat Protective Primer 30ml (£10), Aveda Hand Relief Moisturising Creme 40ml (£12) and Living Proof's Perfect Hair Day Body Builder 98ml (£10).

Rounding up the box is a 10ml Narciso Rodriquez Pur Musc for her EdP spray. It's nice to receive a good size bottle rather than a perfume vial. It has a heart of musc with white florals and orange blossom and it would be perfect for summer holidays.

It's all a bit overwhelming (in a good way!) and I'll follow up with reviews for most of the products. Did you pick a box up?

I've had my Love me Beauty picks for a while now. The monthly subscription (£13.95) give you 60 credits which you are free to spend whatever you want from that month's edit.

My other picks for 10 credits each:

Feel Unique: Pick 'n' Mix: November 2016

Here's what I picked this month from Feel Unique's pick 'n' mix service (costing £3.95 which is redeemable on your next purchase  - how good is that!)

The first thing which jumped out at me was bareminerals Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in Maverick 2.25ml which is such a great size! A beautiful gloss with a hint of colour. I'm in love with this!

My second pick is a 5ml mini tube of Givenchy's Hydra Sparkle Velvet Luminescence Moisturising Cream which is suitable for normal/combination skin. Looking forward to trying this out.

My final three picks are sachets: Sachajuan Overnight Hair Repair 10ml (I'm always looking for the perfect hair product) so I'm looking forward to trying. I used to use Paul Mitchell's shampoos all the time so their Awapuhi Shampoo 7.4ml is a trip down memory lane! Bliss's multi-'face'-eted all in one anti-ageing clay mask 4g which I picked as I liked the sound of it.

The Dream Box IV by British Beauty Blogger

I picked up Jane's latest beauty box in association with Latest in Beauty mainly for stocking fillers for friends and a few new bits for me! The box is now sold out but cost £22.95 with free P&P (I had a voucher for 20% off) making it unbelievable value for money.

It's absolutely stuffed full!

Here are the bits I'm keeping:

NUXE Prodigieux Eye Cream (15ml full size - worth £18.50) being a huge NUXE fan I'm looking forward to trying this. It de-puffs and helps with dark circles. Expect a review soon.

I absolutely adore this beautiful scent by Shay & Blue (Framboise Noire) and this little vial (2ml worth £5) will be perfect for popping in my handbag. See my review HERE*.

L'Occitane Almond Oil (35ml - worth £3) I've tried the Almond range before and loved this shower oil.

Erborian CC Creme (15ml full size - worth £17.00) this was the item I was most excited about in the box as it's from a brand I've wanted to try for ages.

Maybelline Dr Rescue SOS Nail Balm (full size - worth £3.99) my nails are always in need of some TLC.

Beauty Kitchen Love Me Wonderbalm (full size - worth £2.99) this balm has a delicious cinnamon scent. Love!

BareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in Raise the Bar (1.5g - worth £7) this is my new favourite lipstick shade! Really pretty and perfect for Autumn.

And onto the bits I'm gifting..

Soap & Glory the Righteous Butter Mini (50ml - worth £2.50) a great cheap and cheerful product and range. Not a product I'm keen on.

REN Evercalm Gentle Cleansing Milk (25ml - worth £2.75) I've used this several times before. A good cleanser but I prefer balms these days.

KMS California Moistrepair Shampoo (75ml - worth £4.50) and KMS California MoistRepair Conditioner (75ml - worth £5.00) a great size but I'm trying to use more natural haircare.

Crabtree & Evelyn La Source Hand Therapy (full size 50g & boxed - worth £9) I've got loads of hand creams to use so this will make a great wee Christmas present.

L'Oreal Paris Telescopic Carbon Black Mascara (full size - worth £10.99) again I'm trying to use more natural mascaras. This one sounds great though!

Crown Brush Pro Studio Contour Brush (full size - worth £9.99) I know one of my nieces will love this!

The final item is Collection Speedy Blush Stick in Tickled Pink & Cheeky (full size - worth £3.99) I tend to use bronzer rather than blush.

An absolutely fabulous box which is such great value. Did you pick one up? What are your thoughts?

Marble & Milkweed Nourishing Body Oil 2oz - this is one of my favourite body oils of all time. See my review here. I can luckily say I've got a back up of this in my stash which I've just cracked open.

Ruth Romano Lemongrass Dead Sea Bath Soak 400g* - I simply loved these bath salts. They smelled divine and made bathtime a total pleasure. Will buy soon. Very reasonably priced too! See my review here.

HAND Fig Organic Shea Butter Soap - I won this in Evelyn's giveaway a while back. Was lovely to use and smelled delicious. Still got a second one to use!

SAMPLES:

Leonor Greyl Volumising Shampoo for Long, Thin & Limp Hair 16ml - this seemed an okay product but didn't love it so wouldn't buy.

Hairy Jayne Deep Cleansing Shampoo sachet - huge Hairy Jayne fan. See my previous review here.

Rahua Shower Gel 12ml sachet - this was ok. Had a gentle lather and mild minty scent a bit like murray mint sweets. Nothing special. Wouldn't buy.

Shopping my Stash #30

Here's what I've been using this week:

A'kin Lavender & Anthyllis 24 Hour Intensive Moisture Leave-in Conditioner 150ml - for normal, dry and textured hair - simply love this, leaves the hair moisturised and healthy looking.  A snip at £8.40 at Naturisimo as it lasts for ages.  It featured in my top products of 2012 see here.

KMS Free Shape Quick Blow Dry 200ml - this is great to use if you've not much time as it cuts down blow dry time.  I'm on my second bottle and I'd buy it again.

amie Morning Dew Matte-Finish Moisturiser 100ml* - this leaves the skin matte and fresh.  Every amie product I've tried I've loved.  Full review to follow.

Jo Malone Red Roses Body Creme 175ml - received this from hubby as a present. Simply lovely, smells gorgeous and a treat to use.  Leaves the skin deeply moisturised and scented with red roses.

bareMinerals Eye Shadow in shades Vanilla Sugar and Renew - just love these wearable shades.

March Empties

I know I'm a wee bit early with my empties but I know I won't finish anything else before the end of the month.

Abahna Frangipani & Orange Blossom EDT - 15ml refillable atomizer - my favourite Abahna scent. I'll definitely pick up the super value refill.

Oh Organics Rose Moisturiser Sample - I was sent items in the Rose and Melissa range to review.  See the website here.  This is a lovely moisturiser and a full review will follow.

Aromatherapy Associates Destress Muscle Bath & Shower Oil 3ml - I don't think there is an Aromatherapy Associates bath oil I don't love.

Elemis Tranquil Touch Body Polish 150ml - love this.  It's got just the right amount of gritty-ness.  Would buy again.  I reviewed it here.

Crabtree & Evelyn Tarocco Orange Bath & Shower Gel 50ml - absolutely loved the body lotion (and would buy again) but I didn't like the shower gel as much. So wouldn't re-purchase.

Neom Complete Bliss Moroccan Blush Rose Organic Hand Wash 250ml - absolutely loved this multi-tasking hand wash (can also be used as a body wash) but my pump action bottle started not working after a while which made this not fun to use but it wouldn't put me off buying it again as it is a lovely non-drying hand wash which smells amazing! And is my favourite Neom scent.  See my review here.

bareMinerals Tinted Mineral Veil 15g - loved this.  This came in a gift set. Would buy again.

Lush Dream Cream sample - this was a very generous sample and my skin loved it.  Will definitely buy at some point.

L'Occitane Dry Skin Hand Cream 10ml - one of my favourite hand creams - I always have one of these on the go.  Especially love when magazines offer them as free gifts - I snap them up!

Korres Guava Little Shower Gel 50ml - this came in my final Birchbox recently. Simply loved it.  You can see my review here.

Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel 15ml - simply love this little mask.  Always seem to have one in my stash because it works!  See my review here.

Aromatherapy Associates Lavender & Peppermint Bath & Shower Oi3ml - again, not found an Aromatherapy Associates Bath Oil I don't love.

Neom Tranquility Bath & Shower Oil 30ml - a gorgeous bath oil and one I'd buy again.

Goldwell 60sec Treatment 50ml - this came in a Feel Unique box ages ago.  Quite a nice product but probably wouldn't buy.

Aromatherapy Associates Overnight Repair Mask 5ml - simply a fab product.   Awakens your skin leaving it looking radiant and renewed. Would buy full size.

111 Skin Facelift Repair Serum & Day Cream both 2ml - lovely but hard to tell from a 2ml sample whether it suits or not.

Clarins Eau Resourcante Bath & Shower Milk 50ml - lovely product received in a gift set at Christmas.  Really moisturising and the scent lasts even without using the matching body lotion. Would maybe purchase full size.

Essential Care Creamy Coconut Cleanser 30ml - I received this in November's Amarya box. I expected it to be coconut scented. It wasn't but I still loved it.  You can see my review here.  There has not been an Essential Care product I've tried that I've not loved.

Balance Me Pure Skin Face Wash 50ml - I picked up a few of these when they came free with a magazine a while back.  Really lovely face wash - one of my favourite foaming cleansers and it smells so good.  Will buy when I use up my stash of minis.

Cowshed Cow Pat Moisturising Hand Cream 50ml - again this was a freebie hand cream.  Loved the scent of this one and received this and another one recently with my Easy Living magazine subscription.  I can never have enough hand creams (or lip balms!)

Gielly Green Repair Shampoo 50ml - a natural shampoo which smells really lovely and is safe for coloured hair.  You can see my review here.  I'm pretty sure I'll buy this again.

Neom Complete Bliss Organic Hand Cream 50ml - probably my most favourite hand cream in the world! Will definitely re-purchase at some point once I use up the stash I have.  You can see my review here. (I lost the lid of this so it became my bedside hand cream - I'm going to miss it...)

Undergreen White 1ml sample vial - this came in December's Amarya box.  Simply loved it.  Probably won't buy as it costs £120 for 100ml.

Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist 100ml - so sad to have finished this! Absolutely loved this hydrating rose scented toning mist.  You can see my review here.  I'll definitely re-purchase this when the spending ban is over.  Love it.

Have you used any of these products?  What have you been using up this month?

Current Primers

I think I've got a primer problem! These are my current ones -

Lancome Effet Miracle Bare Skin Perfection Primer - 15ml (£26).  This comes in two shades I've got the 01 - Porcelain Effect (also available in 02 Healthy Glow Effect).  Inspired by Asian BB base formulas this primer illuminates the skin, makes pores less visible, wrinkles and fine lines are smoothed, helps to make skin texture more even, makes shine less visible, flaws are minimised and is quite hydrating.  This is one of my favourite primers and I'd probably purchase it again but it is pricey.

Stila One Step Correct Brightening Serum 30ml (£24) - this came in the Selfridges Beauty Box.  A really nice primer which evens out the skin tone and helps make up last longer.  It's also really hydrating.  I'd re-purchase this one.

BECCA Resurfacing Primer 15ml (40ml - £32) - I got this in a gift set.  This primer is great for unwanted shine in the T-zone.  It also helps with pores.  Fine lines are smoothed and oil absorbing polymers help to minimise shine.  Can use alone or under foundation.  Love this - just perfect for my combination skin type.

Laura Mercier Radiance Primer 15ml (full size - £28) - Again I received this as a gift with purchase.  This primer has a pearl tint which give the skin a soft glow.  Can be worn alone or under foundation.  A radiant dewy finish which minimises imperfections and fine lines.  Suitable for all skin types.

Benefit The POREfessional 22ml (£23.50) - great for minimising pores and I love using this mainly for afternoon shine over nose/cheeks.  It is expensive though (unsure if I'd buy this again full size but I did pick up a few with Glamour a few months back - link).

Benefit That Gal 7.5ml (11ml - £21.50) - another one I picked up with Glamour magazine.  I love the smell of this - its like strawberries!  I liked how this primer brightened my skin but I'd be unlikely to repurchase it due to the price.

bareMinerals Prime Time Foundation Primer (30ml - £19) - I got this in a value try-me set.  A clear primer which is good for enlarged pores, uneven texture, dryness. Gives a good base for adding foundation - feels silky on the skin.  A nice primer.

RMK Make Up Base 15ml (30ml - £28) - this came from May's Joliebox. For normal to dry skin types so not ideal for my combination skin.  A nice product with a dewy finish but it didn't help to make my foundation last so wouldn't purchase.

Murad Hybrids Skin Perfecting Primer Dewy Finish 5ml (30ml - £29) - this came in January's Glossybox.  I love this light tinted primer which gives a shine free finish and a radiant glow!  Sometimes wear it on its own too.

Giorgio Armani Fluid Master Primer 5ml (£34 full size) - makes the skin super smooth - a perfect canvas for foundation.  Leaves skin looking fresh.

What's your favourite primer?  Have you used any of these?

Eyes and Cheeks

Another stash post!  These are my current eyes and cheeks products.  I seem to have an addiction to eyeliners!

Eyeliners:

Avon Supershock Gel Eyeliner - a great dupe for YSL Waterproof Eyeliner.  I have several of these Avon eyeliners - Cobalt, Black x 2, Blackberry x 2.  Big Colour Eye Pencil in Green Mint - got this free from my rep.  YSL Waterproof Eyeliner - in shades Black and Amazon Green.  I've just finished my favourite in Simmering Burgundy.

Chanel Long Lasting Eyeliner in Jade - I've had this one a couple of years now,  gives a great bright pop of colour.  Giorgio Armani Smooth Silk Eye Pencil  in grey - its got a really nice texture and staying power and also includes a smudger at the opposite end.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Eyeliner in graphite - I've got two of these both nearly finished.  Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner - in black - this is my favourite gel eyeliner, a great price, product and fab for doing a dramatic eye.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on eye pencil - in demolition - a brown shade.  Nice texture and colour, great staying power.  Eyeko Skinny Eyeliner  - from beauty boxes - in grey and plum - not really used these much to be honest.

Emma Kidd Make Up School Eyeliner - in black from Red magazine.  Stila Smudge Waterproof Eyeliner - in Moray a olive green and gold shade.  This was from Glossybox.  Really love this.  MAC Powerpoint Eyeliner in Tealo - a pretty green shade.  Waterproof and stays put.

Eyeshadows:

I won the fab MUA Glitterball Palette a while back in a giveaway from Sam at Honey Go-Lightly - these were my first MUA eyeshadows.  Gorgeous shades and really long lasting and sparkly.  I also won a purple single eyeshadow.  The Art Net Sparkling Shine Eyes quad was from Maria in my Asian box.  I got the Rimmel London sun Safari Glam Eyes Quad in my surprise Easter Bunny Swap also from Maria.

Clinique Lid Smoothie Eye Colour - in Sassy fras and Ginger-ly - not really used these much yet.  bareMinerals Eyecolour in Vanilla Sugar and Renew - love these neutrals, so easy to apply.  Want to get some of their pressed powder eyeshadows - the colours look great.

NYX Ultra Pearl - Oro Pearl - super-shimmery - not used this yet.  Got it in my April Amitee box.  Wet n Wild Ultimate Minerals Eyes - I got this from Sarah in my Easter Bunny Swap.

Mascaras:

My ultimate mascara is YSL Luminous Mascara Shocking Volume - I'm currently using a mini in black - I'd definitely buy full size.  I also love Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Mascara.

I got the 17 Va va Voom Volume Mascara in my Easter Swap boxBellapierre Lash Building Mascara in April Joliebox, Soap & Glory thick & fast Supervolume as a magazine freebie.  The L'Oreal Voluminous I picked up after reading a review about it.  I have several Lancome mini mascaras - Hypnose Doll Eyes, Hypnose and Hypnose Drama.

Blushers:

I've only got three blushers at the moment - MUA blusher which I won in Sam's giveaway, Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge for Lips & Cheeks in pale pink and a sample pot of Giorgio Armani Blushing Fabric - a fabulous light cream blusher.

I really want to get a non-shimmery bronzer - can anyone recommend one?  Do you use any of these products?

Lipstick/Gloss Stash

This is my lipstick/gloss/liner stash.

Lipsticks

Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Boy - my favourite better than lips lipstick, just adds a shimmer of colour, Tom Ford Indian Rose - my only Tom Ford - love it.  Beautiful colour, texture and staying power (and luxe packaging).

New CID i-pout Berrylicious and Studio Make Up in Really Red - these were in beauty boxes, Revlon Lip Butters - in Berry Smoothie and Gumdrop - one of the American girls on Beauty Box Swaps got these for me (sent her paypal) just before they hit our shops here.  Berry Smoothie is my favourite.

Jane Iredale Lip & Cheek Stain Just Kissed - from Joliebox, love this and love the fact the colour changes depending on your mood - its gone from pale pink to dark pink to red.. I'd definitely purchase this full size, YSL Rouge Pur Couture mini in shade 09 - received this in the Selfridges Advent Calendar.  I also have another YSL lipstick but had this for a couple of years and all details have worn off its more of a sheer wine shade.

Poppy King for No.7 Sheer Wine Lipstick (this came in a set in the Christmas sales with the Lipgloss and Radiant Rouge Lip Tint).  MUA Lipstick - I won this in Sam's giveaway a while back (along with nail polish and eyeshadow).  You can see my post here.  Lancome L'Absolu Nu Lipstick in shade 302 - a pinky shade, great handbag size.

Estee Lauder Pure Color Barely Nude Creme Lipstick - this was a GWP - quite a brown shade not really worn it yet.  Giorgio Armani Rouge d'Armani - shade 506.  Mentioned this in my favourites here.  One of my favourite lipsticks at the moment.  Clinique Lip Palette - with four lipstick shades - pink-a-boo, rosalita, raspberry crush, cranberry cream.  This was included in a GWP set.

Gloss

Cargo x 3 glosses - Morocco, Paris & Tokyo - I got these in swaps, Bare Minerals Pretty Amazing Gloss - in two shades one full size (nude colour) and a mini in confidence - a red shade, New CID i-gloss in Baby Doll - received in a beauty box.  Lancome Juicy Tube - GWP size, Lancome gloss - GWP size - glittery pink shade.  Terre d'Oc Shine Lipgloss which I received in my May Amarya box in shade Grenade Benoa.

Collection 2000 Cream Puff Gloss in Fairy Cake which I received in my She Said Beauty BoxGiorgio Armani Gloss - can't see the shade but its a plum-pink, Urban Decay Lip Junkie Lipgloss in Midnight Cowboy, Du Wop Venom Gloss in Buttercup - I got this in a swap.  Benefit Benetint mini - was a magazine freebie - possibly Glamour.

Clinique Chubby Stick in Mega Melon (got this for Beauty Bible testing) and Chunky Cherry - love these - super moisturising with a pop of colour.  Can't wait for the Revlon Just Bitten Balm Stain, a chubby stick dupe.  I'm jealous Alex!, e.l.f. SuperGlossy Lip Shine in Malt Shake.  Received this in one of my Easter Bunny Swap BoxesNARS mini gloss - got this as a freebie a while back.

Inika Lip Whip Gloss in Apricot bought this from Beauty Box Swaps - it was in a she said beauty box.  L'Occitane Pivoine Delicate EDT & Gloss - lovely pale pink gloss (and summery scent).  Great handbag friendly product.  Pixi Succulent Lip Twin - received this in my recent Latest in Beauty box.

Liners

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Lip Pencil - 08 - Spice and 13 - Tearose.  These were both GWP sizes, Armani Lipliner - unsure of the shade but a neutral and goes with a lot of lippy shades - got a few of these in various used sizes, BareMinerals Lip Liner in Thistle

Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Rose

What size is your lipstick/gloss collection?  And do you use any of the above?
