Love Lula Beauty Box: August 2018

My July Love Lula Beauty Box* arrived the other day. This month it's worth £55 and contains 2 full size products, 3 trial size and 1 sachet. So what's inside:

And for a closer look..

I've always wanted to try more products from pure & light organic skincare and inside is a 15ml tube of their Revitalising Facial Exfoliation, a dual-action cleansing cream which will revitalise and rejuvenate the skin. Cleansing is combined with gentle daily exfoliation. Look out for a review on this one shortly!

From new brand at Love Lula is Bowe Organics with their Lash Oil (10ml - £19.99). I've actually got an unopened bottle awaiting my use from a recent Skin Organics Clean Beauty Box. A review will be forthcoming.

I love sachets and trial sizes are they are great trymes or for weekends away and holidays. Inside this month is a 1.5ml sachet of Kimberly Sayer's fabulous Ultra Light Facial Moisturiser SFP30 (which incidentally I used long before I blogged!) I'll be popping this one in my travel bag.

There are two 5ml trial sizes from fabulous Gallinée which I've tried before - Hydrating Face Cream (REVIEW) and Hand Cream (REVIEW). I'm happy to have these fab products back in my stash!

Rounding up the box this month is a full size product which we've had a couple of times before in the box - Madara's AHA Peel Mask (60ml - £24). I love Marada products but I'd love to see a new product in the box - maybe one of their soaps, something from the Infusion Vert range or a sample size of one of their face oils.

As ever, it's a great value box. What do you think of the contents? Are you a subscriber?

Love Lula: Terranova Supplements+Pure & Light Organic Skincare

I've got niggling knee pain so in March picked products which I thought might alleviate some discomfort.

From Terranova Supplements I've been trying their Tart Cherry, Nettle & Turmeric Super Blend (£19 - 50g)* which is great to relieve joint pain, sports injuries, inflammation and discomfort.

The supplements are in a super potent powder form which are fresh freeze dried to lock in important nutrients. (the supplements are suitable for Vegans and Vegetarians).

The blend contains anthocyanin flavonoids which have great antioxidant qualities and are found in Tart Cherries. Nettle Leaf helps with inflammation and joint health while Turmeric root helps with joint degeneration. Celery stalk and leaf are abundant in free radical scavenging antioxidants and ginger lessens inflammatory pain.

To use: blend 1/2 tsp with a small amount of juice or water before drinking. I found it easier to whizz the powder with a mini blender otherwise it can taste slightly gritty.

I definitely found the supplements of some help so will continue to take them until I feel the pain lessens or goes away completely.

I also chose a topical cream from Pure & Light Organic Skincare - Holistic Yoga Body Cream (£29 - 150ml)* which is the "perfect alignment of body, mind and spirit". It's suitable for all skin types and contains homeopathic remedies (St John's Wort and Arnica) to help alleviate pain in muscles and joints.

The cream is easily absorbed and feels quite firming on the skin. It contains Frankincense, Sandalwood, Spikenard and Orange Blossom. I've not noticed much of a difference with soothing aches and pains although it is quite nice to use.

I'm not so keen on the scent - it's slightly too herbal and medicinal for my tastes (even thought it contains some ingredients that I normally really like!) but as I've only been using it on my lower body it's not been too much of an issue.

What products do you use for pain relief?

April Empties

Here's what I've been using up in April:

Organic Surge Tropical Bergamot Shower Gel 250ml - love this. Already got another in my stash.

bodhi Desert Rose Rejuvenating Face Oil 30ml - this is a staple for me. Got another one to use.  See my review here*.

Lea Journo Hydrating Shampoo & Conditioner both 90ml - perfect size for travel these rich and hydrating hair products are super luxe.  See my review here. Would buy again.

Indie Lee Vanilla Citrus Moisturising Oil 4oz* - I loved this. See my review here*. Would buy.

John Masters Organics Lavender Rosemary Shampoo 30ml - I don't think I've tried a JMO product (well apart from their body scrub!) I haven't loved. Sure to pick this up full size at some point.

Bamford Geranium, Lavender & Peppermint Body Wash 50ml - nice to use would maybe purchase.

Bentley Organic Shampoo for Frequent use 50ml - this didn't really suit my hair type so wouldn't buy.

Pure & Light Organic Essential Hand Cream with Yarrow and Lavender 75ml* - this was one of the most luxurious hand creams I've used but at £39 I'd expect nicer packaging. The top of the tube split not long after I started using it.

Docteur Renaud Raspberry Cleansing Water 50ml* - this was lovely to use with a refreshing scent.  See my review here.

Shay & Blue Salt Caramel Fragrance 10ml - love this! My friend Julie bought me 30ml for my birthday. One of my favourite scents this year.

Therapie Himalayan Detox Salts 100g - I can't live without these relaxing and calming salts.

Dr Organic Pomegranate Deodorant 50ml - a staple. Also quite like the Rose Otto variety.

What have you been using up this month?

My Top Three Hand Care Products: Winter

Around this time of year my hands get so dry they need all the help they can get!  These are my top three hand care products for winter. I've chosen one for every kind of budget from super expensive to budget friendly.

Pure & Light Organic Essential Hand Cream - Yarrow with Lavender (£39 - 75ml)* - this is one of the most luxurious hand creams I've ever used (and the most expensive!)  Packed full of Shea butter, Argan Oil, Vitamin E, Calendula, Sweet Almond, Avocado and Apricot Kernal Oils it super moisturises dry and cracked hands leaving them velvety soft and lightly scented (herbal lavender).  I can honestly say this is one of the nicest hand creams I've ever used.  Buy it from Janna Organics or direct - see here.

bodhi & birch Lime Blossom Protecting Hand Serum (£22 - 30ml)* - as you'll know I've got much love for the bodhi & birch brand. This serum is fantastic. See my review here.

My third choice is the very lovely Faith in Nature Coconut Hand Cream (£6.39 - 50ml) - I pick mine up at Earthy Portobello.  A super nourishing hand cream which smells of coconut - what's not to love!

What's your hand care saviour at the moment?
