Dafna's Personal Skincare - Giveaway Win!

I was very lucky to win a trio from Award Winning Dafna's Personal Skincare in their giveaway last year. I'm a huge, huge fan of the range and absolutely love their Active Mist (REVIEW) and Moisture+Light (REVIEW).

The final item is brand new to me - their Purify Cleanser which is perfect for my combo skin! This anti-oxidant rich cleanser has a lotion-gel texture and is formulated with eight natural oils and nutrients. It'll remove daily grime and make up clearing the skin of impurities and unblocking pores.

Formulated with ingredients such as MelaCare TM Oil which brightens and balances the skin, Pomegranate extract is a powerful anti-ageing ingredient which is full of Vitamin C. Olive Oil nurtures and smoothes and Essential Oils of Geranium and Sweet Orange give the cleanser a beautiful aromatic scent as well as balancing and regenerating.

To use: apply on a dry face and neck, massaging in before rinsing. Alternatively add some water while massaging for a deeper cleanse. Can be used AM and PM.

What are your favourites in the range?

*Love Lula Beauty Box: July 2019

*complimentary - I receive the Love Lula Beauty Box free of charge as a Love Lula Accredited Blogger. All thoughts are genuine and reviews to follow. I think this is my most favourite *Love Lula Beauty Box box ever! This month it's worth £101! Membership starts from monthly recurring £14.95 in the UK and 3 months £52.50 Internationally.

I'd had my eye on the Dafna's Personal Skincare Summer Heroes Set which contains 4 best selling minis - Active Mist (10ml) (REVIEW), Purify Cleanser (10ml), Moisture+Light (10ml) (mini REVIEW) and Eye Care (5ml). These all come in the perfect try me size/holidays size in their own wee branded pouch. Really excited by this gorgeous addition to the box this month. It's worth just over £20.

The second item to catch my eye is the 10ml of Skin Alchemist's Apothecary Sesenne Facial Elixir (10ml - £30) which is gorgeous! It's the perfect try me size or again for holidays. It has a slightly spicy scent and is a blend of 26 skin loving oils. It'll nourish, repair and rejuvenate. A review will follow!

From Madara is their Plum Plum Lip Perfection Balm (15ml - £10) which is truly lush. Super moisturising with a delicious fruity scent. I love it!

The final item is Kathleen Natural Refreshing & Lightening Cleansing Lotion (150ml - £29.50) which will gentle cleanse the skin leaving it feeling comfortable and hydrated.

What a box this month! I think it's amazing and I'm looking forward to testing everything out and coming back with some reviews. Are you a subscriber? What do you think of the contents this month?

June Empties

I'm not going to use anything else up this month so here are my June empties. Items marked with * are product samples.

*Alteya Organics Rose & Mullein Hydrating Flower Toner 120ml - I'm a huge fan of this brand and loved this hydrating rosy toner. See my review HERE. Will buy when my stash reduces.

Byredo Bal D'Afrique Hand Cream 30ml - I really enjoyed this hand cream which deeply nourished the hands and nails and left them delicately scented. I picked this up from a friend who was selling it. I'd maybe buy again.

Clarins Rose Radiance Cream 5ml - which was a Feel Unique pick 'n' mix sample. I loved it's rosy scent and how quickly it absorbed. Would buy.

Sisley Purifying Balancing Lotion 15ml - this came via my subscription with Sisley (which I stopped as the samples were getting quite samey). Nice enough to use but wouldn't buy.

Noble Isle Rhubarb Rhubarb! & Tea Rose Bath & Shower Gel (both 30ml) - I adored both these which came as gift with purchase. Would buy both full size.

Zing Organics Elevate Body Oil with Frankincense & Clementine 80ml - which came in my January Box which I reviewed HERE. I'll re-purchase this when my body oil stash reduces.

Guerlain Abeille Royal Youth Water Oil 0.5ml - which seemed nice but such a teeny sample.

Upcircle Face Scrub x 3 (8g) Herbal (oily/combo), Floral (sensitive) and Citrus (dry). These are new products by Upcircle which I enjoyed using. I'd maybe buy once my stash reduces.  Upcircle Lemongrass Body Scrub 10g which was nice to use. My favourite scent is peppermint. The one I really want to try full size is the Face Serum 2ml which is absolutely fantastic.

Dafna's Purify Cleanser 1ml - again a small sample, not really enough to get a feel for the product.

John Masters Organics Repair Conditioner 10ml - which seemed quite nice. I only got one use from the sachet so would probably need to try it again before passing judgement.

My final sample this month is Sol Janeiro Coco Cabana Cream 7.5ml - again this was a Feel Unique sample. I prefer the original bum bum cream scent. This one was just a little bit artificial for me so wouldn't buy.

Review: Dafna's Personal Skincare Active Mist

I've been thoroughly enjoying trying Dafna's Personal Skincare Active Mist (100ml - £38)*. In fact, every Dafna's product I try I love. See my previous reviews HEREHEREHERE & HERE - I just love this gorgeous brand!

The Active Mist* is 100% Natural and Vegan and is suitable for dry, sensitive and normal skin types and is presented in a black spritzer bottle and boxed.

The mist brightens and refreshes the skin (smells incredible and is a pleasure to use).  Formulated with MelaCare which is a mix of oils from three medical plants (Camellia japonica, Oxalis triangularis and Eremanthus erythropappus) which are known for their anti-inflammatory, soothing and antioxidant properties.

The skin is left looking comfortably, glowy and hydrated. Also inside are Calendula, which calms and repairs, Figs Juice which hydrates, comforts and cools along with Geranium & Sweet Orange essential oils which balance, reduce anxiety and tension and soothe.

To use: mist over clean face and neck, breathing in deeply to benefit from the gloriously calming & uplifting aroma. Can be used throughout the day for a burst of aromatic freshness. It would also be great to take on holiday to use on sun-parched skins.

It's absolutely beautiful and my skin's been loving it and as with every Dafna Personal Skincare product it does exactly what it says it will. Have you tried the Active Mist?

October: Lately I've been Loving

Here's what I've been loving in October:

I picked up this gorgeous wee book by local artist Peter Jones. It may be a little book but it's the sweetest thing and perfect for any lover of Portobello.

I had the real pleasure of trying gorgeous Casa Mencarelli, a beautiful new skincare line. See my review HERE. The products are beautiful (I also love that you can buy trial sizes as well as full sizes).

I loved attending the 10th Portobello Book Festival - I normally go to a few things but only managed along to the fascinating discussion by Sara Sheridan and Alex Nye - "no place for a woman" and of course I had to get signed books. The Ice Maiden I'd already read and you can see my mini review in my July book round-up.

I'm testing out the latest launch from Dafna's Personal Skincare - Active Mist* which is incredible - expect a review on the blog soon!

Being a tester for Triyit - I was delighted to receive a box of wonderful new products* from Beauty Kitchen - I've already got some favourites - expect reviews up on the blog soon.

August Empties

I'm not going to use anything else up this month so here are my August empties a little bit early:

Weleda Birch Cellulite Oil 2ml* - a teeny sample but I liked the scent (always a big thing) and the oil seemed nice. I'd maybe pick up full size.

Sisley Izia Moisturising Perfumed Body Lotion 8ml - I loved this. Would love full size but I'm guessing it'll stay on the wishlist a while as it's pricey!

Iles Formula Haute Performance Shampoo & Conditioner 9ml sachets - this haircare is amazing - it smoothes and nourishes and the hair is left looking and feeling amazing. Full sizes are on the wishlist!

Dr Teal's Pure Epsom Salt Soaking Solution with Lavender 1lb - huge fan of this soothing and relaxing soak. Sure to pick up again at some point.

Dr Bronner's 18-in-1 Peppermint Pure Castile Soap sample - my favourite scent from Dr Bronner. Will buy full size soon!

The Body Deli Coconut Creme Soap - nice to use with a coconut scent (the soap is brown in colour and not really pretty). Enjoyable to use but I wouldn't re-purchase.

ISUN Rosemary Sage Body Scrub Sample - with enough scrubbyness and a herbal scent. This was nice to use but not sure I loved the scent enough to buy full size.

Schmidt's Jasmine Tea Deodorant - this is my favourite Schmidt's scent. Since they sold to Unilver I'm just using up my stash (sadly) as this is my all time favourite natural deodorant.

bodhi & birch Botanic Dew Hand & Body Wash 50ml - I found this really refreshing to use in my morning shower during the hot summer days. See my review HERE. I'll pick this mini size up again for my travels later in the year. I also used up a mini of Ylang Ylang Incensa and Camomile Sky. See my reviews HERE and HERE. Sure to pick these up again at some point too.

Apple & Bears Bergamot & Green Tea Hand & Body Wash 30ml* - lovely to use would maybe buy full size.

Dafna's Personal Skincare Nutrition 50ml** - absolutely loved this. See my review HERE. Will definitely buy when my stash reduces a bit (cried it was finished!)

Lucky Cloud Skincare Soothing Super Balm in Lavender & Rose 15ml* - huge fan of Lucky Cloud! This balm is a delight. See my review HERE. Definitely buy when my balm stash reduces a bit.

Sol Janeiro Brazillian Bum Bum Cream 24ml - a rich vanilla scented cream which I loved trying. Just opened another pot (thanks Julie!).

Bespoke Aroma Refreshing Facial Mist 30ml - which was created especially for Skin Organics Clean Beauty Box in June. See my thoughts on the Hydrate Box HERE and my review HERE. It's one I'd pick up again.

Olio E Osso Lustero Body Oil 15ml - loved this. See my review HERE. Full size is on the wishlist!

Kiss the Moon CALM After Dark Face Oil 3ml* - loved this. See my review HERE. Full size is on the wishlist

Isla Apothecary Neroli Body Oil 15ml - a firm favourite. See my review HERE. This little one came in Skin Organics Clean Beauty Box 1st Birthday Box which I collaborated on (total honour!).See the box and my picks HERE. Will pick this little beauty up again when my body oil stash reduces!

Zing Organics Velveteen Facial Serum 16ml - a beautiful serum which I loved! Love that they offer refills either in person or by post - more companies should do this! See my review HERE.

Kat Burki Ilume Brightening Serum 5ml - this came in a mini set (magazine freebie with subscription). It was ok. Wouldn't buy.

ISUN Rose Quartz Oil sample - gorgeous to use. Full size is on the wishlist (edit: I've just been gifted full size to review - expect that on the blog soon!)

Dafna's Personal Skincare: Review & Giveaway: REVIVAL Bio-Active Beauty Mask - it's over!

As you'll know I'm a huge fan of Dafna's gorgeous Personal Skincare range.  They featured as winners when I was a recent The Beauty Shortlist Judge for the 2018 Awards.

See my top picks HERE and reviews HEREHERE and HERE.

I've been testing out fabulous latest launch REVIVAL Bio-Active Beauty Mask (50ml - £78)* which is amazing (I've also got a pot for a giveaway prize, more on that later!)

The mask is a combination of bio-active ingredients including Capsulated Charcoal, Hyaluronic Acid, Gingseng and Reishi. The mask brightens, refreshes, softens, hydrates and balances.

REVIVAL is based on two bio-active phases, the first intense hydration and regeneration and the second activates the capsulated Charcoal which "magnetizes" free radicals at the surface of the skin, inhibiting skin oxidation while promoting balanced complexion and even look".

Suitable for all skin types but especially for those who live a stressful lifestyle (work, city life, parenthood, lack of sleep) or for those who need to nurture and hydrate the skin.

This wonder mask hydrates, nurtures and reduces the impact of free radicals. To use: Phase 1: Tap mask onto clean and dry face. The mask should be white-cream coloured with black spots. Leave to act for 5-10 minutes before following Phase 2: with damp hands massage the mask for about a minute until all the Charcoal capsules are merged to the mask and it changes colour to grey. Leave 3-5 minutes before removing and moisturising the skin.

I've found my skin looks healthier and more radiant and even toned. It's an absolutely fantastic product.

I've got a pot up for grabs - the giveaway is open worldwide and all you need to do is follow the rafflecopter instructions below. Good luck! Thanks to Dafna for both my pot and the pot for the giveaway.

Beauty Shortlist Awards 2018 - My Top Picks

I was totally honoured and chuffed to bits when Fi at The Beauty Shortlist asked me to be a judge for the 2018 Awards - you can see all the winners and finalists HERE.

These are my top picks from the products I was lucky enough to try (some of which are winners, finalists and Editor's Choice winners):

KINN Beauty:

Best New Brand - UK
Best Body Lotion, Best Bath Oil, Editor's Choice - Body Oil

I totally loved everything about this brand (which had been on my radar a while). From the simple but stylish packaging, the exquisite comforting scent which makes me think "everything's going to be ok" (Ylang Ylang, Lavender & Tangerine) which uplifts, calms and soothes both the body and mind.

The range is truly beautiful and I enjoyed trying it all (will all be purchases in future for sure!)

Check out KINN Beauty HERE.

Jo Browne Ireland:

Best Aromatherapy Products (Home-Bath-Beauty-Travel) - Natural Solid Perfume (floral), Best Cleansing Balm (f) - Natural Facial Cleansing Balm

Oh these products made my heart sing! That packaging! (eco-friendly bamboo) I just loved everything about this lovely range. The cleansing balm has the lightest texture and the most aromatic scent (Bergamot, Neroli, Palmarosa, Frankincense, Geranium, Grapefruit and Rose) and makes short work of daily grime and make up. Skin is left feeling comfortable, clean and nourished. Love!  The Natural Solid Perfume (housed in a eco-friendly bamboo tube with outer bamboo cover) is a gentle floral and very pretty.

Check out Jo Browne Ireland HERE.

Inner-Soul Organics:
Best Night Balm - Healing Night Balm, Editor's Choice - Roses & Lemons Tender Cleanse Balm and Supreme Comfort Day Cream

I'd previously tried the cleansing balm and day cream so it was nice to re-visit (I'd forgotten how good they are!). New to me winner is the Healing Night Balm which is a night time essential! It has a sleep inducing scent (Lavender & Patchouli) which cocoons and relaxes both the skin and mind. Wake up with soft, smooth and deeply nourished skin. Love!

Check out Inner-Soul Organics - HERE.

MV Organic Skincare:
Best Natural/Organic Skincare Brand - Australia
Best Face Mask (Natural) - Energising Mineral Mask, Editor's Choice - Rose Soothing Protective Moisturiser

I'd only tried MV Organic Skincare's Jojoba Oil so I enjoyed trying out two more products from the brand. Their Energising Mineral Mask is a mix of clays (mix with water or hydrosol to make a paste). It will energise and revitalise tired and stressed skins. Their Rose Soothing Protective Moisturiser has a glorious rose scent and a light texture which is easily absorbed. The skin is left feeling comfortable and nourished. Definitely want to try more from this brand!

Check out MV Organic Skincare - HERE.

Dafna's Personal Skincare:
Best Skincare Brand - International
Best Night Treatment - Nutrition, Best Serum - Anti-Ageing & Glow Serum, Editor's Choice - Moisture+, Moisture Plus+ Light, Recovery Cleanser

I'm a huge fan of Dafna's Personal Skincare already - see my reviews - Moisture Plus+ LightRecovery CleanserNutrition & Eye Care. New tries to me were Moisture+ and Anti-Ageing & Glow Serum (both of which I loved). The serum is stuffed full of skin loving actives which soften, nourish, tighten and firm the skin. Moisture+ is a rich cream which is formulated with 19 carefully selected actives.  Just love this brand.

Check out Dafna's Personal Skincare - HERE.

Marina Miracle:
Editor's Choice - Amaranth Night Serum

This new to me brand from Norway is gorgeous! I truly loved trying both these products.  The Aramanth Face Oil absorbs quickly and leaves the skin nourished and glowy while the Aramanth Night Serum regenerates and rejuvenates the skin while you sleep (they both smell glorious too).

Check out Marina Miracle at A Beautiful WorldHERE.

Kinvara True Skincare:
Best Cleansing Oil (f), Editor's Choice - Eye Wow Eye Serum and Hyaluronic Youth Boost

I'd been aware of this Irish brand but hadn't tried anything before being a Judge. I loved the pretty packaging and the formulations inside are pretty special.

My favourites are the Absolute Cleansing Oil which gently but deeply removes make up and daily grime (citrussy scent) leaving the skin feeling clean and nourished. Eye Wow Eye Serum is another favourite. It comes in a cooling rollerball and helps to minimise fine lines, dark circles and puffiness (it really does work) and has a nice fig/green scent. The third product to wow me is their Hyaluronic Youth Boost which acts as a natural filler - I've been using this around my lips to plump and nourish.

Check out Kinvara True SkincareHERE.

Beauty Kitchen:
Best Multi-Tasking Balm - Free From Wonderbalm, Editor's Choice - Raw Inventions Kit and Skincare Treasures

I absolutely adored the Free From Wonder Balm which I used when I had the flu recently. It soothed and calmed my nose (in between sneezing fits). It's also good for lips and other dry patches.  Would buy again for sure. I also adored their very clever Raw Inventions Kit which has everything you need to make your own skincare including ingredients and pots, bottles and labels - it's fab!

Check out Beauty Kitchen - HERE.

Tropic Skincare:
Best Skincare Product for Acne - Clear Skin Blemish Fighting Mask & Best Face Mask - Breakouts, Editor's Choice - Supergreens Nutrient Boost Serum and Sun Drops Gradual Tanning Facial Serum

I'm a huge fan of lovely Tropic Skincare and have had the pleasure of trying these products previously - see my reviews - Super Greens Nutrient Boost SerumClear Skin Blemish Fighting Mask and Sun Drops Gradual Tanning Facial Serum.

Check out Tropic Skincare - HERE.

Ere Perez:
Best Concealer - Arnica Concealer, Editor's Choice - Australian Blue Cypress Face Nectar

I just loved both of these Ere Perez products. The face nectar is lightweight and absorbs instantly. It nourishes, hydrates, plumps, can help with sun damage and tired and stressed skin. The nectar is scented with Jasmine Sambac and Sandalwood (and is gorgeous). The blue cypress helps to make the skin dewy. A stunning product. The Arnica Concealer is easy to blend, has a nice texture and hides dark circles and imperfections very well. I'll buy a darker shade coming into summer.

Check out Ere Perez - HERE.

ISUN:
Best Natural/Organic Skincare Brand - USA
Best Daily Serum 40+ - Phyto Infusion Facial Serum, Best Lip Balm - (f) - Golden Lip Balm, Editor's Choice - Peptide Eye Cream

This is a new to me brand and I enjoyed all the products I tried. The skincare products have quite a neutral scent but work very well and are stuffed full of potent powerhouse ingredients which revitalise, regenerate and make the skin glow. The lip balm has a buttery texture and an orange scent. I definitely want to try more from this brand.

Check out ISUN - HERE.

SAFEAS Organic Beauty:
Editor's Choice - Ghassoul Cleansing Mask

This lavender scented mask was lovely to use. It deeply cleaned the pores, helping to rid the skin of blackheads and other impurities as well as controlling sebum. Really enjoyed using this mask (from a new to me brand).

October Empties

Here's what I've been using up in October (I don't have much as I chucked all the samples and trial sizes I used up in London rather than bringing them home!)

Esse Probiotic Gel Cleanser 10ml* - I simply love this cleanser. See my review HERE. I took this to London earlier in the month and it was more than enough for a few days break. Huge fan of the brand. I definitely want to try more products from the range.

MOA Fortifying Green Bath Potion Shot 10ml - absolutely love this bath treat. See my review HERE. Will definitely re-purchase.

Schmidt's Rose+Vanilla and Bergamot+Lime Natural Deodorants - I love this brand. Bergamot+Lime is my favourite scent. I wouldn't pick up the Rose one again as although nice I didn't love it.  Just opened a new B+L one.

Dr Bronner's Peppermint 18-in-1 Pure Castile Magic Soap 236ml - this is a staple for me in this scent. I use it to clean my make up brushes and sometimes the bath! I've just picked up a new one.

Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet SPF15 - 30 Beige - I love this foundation and I'll buy it again. It gives good coverage and I find it suitable for my combination skin.

MAKE Skincare Face Glow 30ml** - which was beautiful. See my review HERE. I'd consider buying when my stash reduces a bit.

Dafna's Personal Skincare Recovery Cleanser 50ml** - I simply loved this beautiful cleanser. See my review HERE. I'll definitely buy when my cleanser stash reduces a bit.

Molton Brown Coco & Sandalwood Body Wash 300ml - this is one of my favourite Molton Brown scents. Sure to buy again at some point.

Isla Apothecary Neroli Body Oil 100ml* - this body oil is divine! It has a beautiful scent and deeply nourishes the skin - what's not to love! See my review HERE. I'm sure to buy this again as I just love it! I do however have a mini one to use which came in the Discovery Set which I mentioned HERE.

My final item this month is a Reed Diffuser* from The Handmade Soap Company. I loved the scent - Lemongrass & Cedarwood and found it lasted round about three months. Would buy for sure. You can also buy refills. See my review HERE

Dafna's Personal Skincare Review

I've recently had the real pleasure of testing two products from Dafna's Personal Skin Care. Aromatherapist and Naturopath Dafna lives and works in Madrid. Her skincare line is made in collaboration with scientists and the range is anti-ageing, made using Ayurvedic philosophy, natural and bioactive ingredients and advanced biotechnology.

The products are an absolute delight. The packaging is designed to protect the essential oils contained within the products and the brand is certified EcoCert, SOIL and NATRUE. The two products I've tried are super luxe the range is free from parabens, mineral oils, paraffin, vaseline, petroleum, SLS and silicones. You can buy at Content Beauty & Wellbeing.

Nutrition Night Treatment (£75 - 50ml)* is an aromatherapeutic cream made with essential oils and botanical extracts. Advanced biotechnology helps to repair and slow the ageing process. The cream contains 21 active ingredients of the highest quality and feels very luxurious. It contains ingredients like gingseng, green tea, propolis, reishi and rosewood which regenerate and protect the skin.

Suitable for dry and mature skin types and of the dosha Vata or Pitta. To use: apply to face, neck and decolletage.

Eye Care (£50 - 20ml)*  this gel textured eye cream absorbs instantly and uplifts the delicate eye area. It also brightens, and helps with puffiness and reducing dark circles. Made with 16 potent actives and advanced biotechnology. To use: pat a small amount around the eye area AM and PM using your ring finger.

This product is suitable for all skin types and both recently received a Beauty Shortlist Editors Choice Winners award this year.

I've really been enjoying using this luxe range which is a real treat for the skin and senses. Pick yours up HERE.
