Sandwick Bay Subscription Corner: June: Wax Melts

I used to be a subscriber of the Candle Subscription Corner with Sandwick Bay Candles (see my reviews HERE). I'm currently obsessed with wax melts (I have another monthly wax melt subscription too!) The Sandwick Bay Candles Wax Melt subscription costs £10 including p&p each month (payment is taken on 1st of the month, with parcels being sent on the 4th) making it a very affordable monthly treat.

The wax melt subscription comes in a letterbox friendly box and contains:

10 soy wax melts in Pineapple & Frangipani (the candle scent this month) which is sweet and fruity with an exotic frangipani edge. It's the perfect summertime scent.

Also inside are six soy wax tealights.

The extra sample this month is deliciously juicy Blood Orange (which I received as a candle - see HERE). It's a lush scent and has notes of Blood Orange, Grapefruit and Lime mixed with goji berries. Inside the little bag are two heart shaped melts.

Sandwick Bay Candles: Subscription Corner: July: Thyme & Olive Leaf

My July Sandwick Bay Candle subscription arrived on Thursday (postie had 6 parcels for me, oh dear, he was very unhappy!) This month the theme is Thyme & Olive Leaf with a nod to freshly cut grass, olive oil and summer holidays in Cyprus. Inside is:

WOW how lovely!

Thyme & Olive Leaf is a delicious fresh and herbal blend of lemon thyme, green olive, olive leaves and bergamot and is absolutely gorgeous! I'm looking forward to burning this one! Also inside is a delectable tea light in freshly cut grass (it smells just like it!).

A second extra comes in the form of a bottle of Olive Oil (chilli, basil or garlic) from Olive Olive (100ml) which is worth £3.50 and is a great added extra which fits the theme very well.

Sandwick Bay Candles: Subscription Corner: June: Fresh Watermelon

Megan, at Sandwick Bay Candles had dropped some hints on the Facebook page as to what June's Subscription Corner candle would be and I was convinced the theme would be something sweet like candy floss but I was super surprised and delighted when Fresh Watermelon arrived! It's lush!

WOW!

Inside this month is a juicy fresh watermelon candle which reminds Megan of long hot summer days when her dad would bring home a whole watermelon to cut up and enjoy.

Also inside is a cute little watermelon washi tape and a tealight in the new candle fragrance - lemon myrtle.

Sandwick Bay Candles: Subscription Corner: May: Green Tea & Lemongrass

It's always an exciting day when my Sandwick Bay Candle arrives! This month the scent is Green Tea and Lemongrass, an aromatic and refreshing scent which has notes of Green Tea, Lavender, Jasmine and Lemongrass. I'm very excited to light it!

The extra this month is 5 Hoogly Tea Classic Green Tea tea tea pods which appeared in the very first subscription corner box. I'm a huge Green Tea fan so looking forward to brewing up. I'll also be checking out the other teas on offer!

Sandwick Bay Candles: Subscription Corner: April: Rainwater

Sandwick Bay Candles theme for April's Subscription Corner is Rainwater, think April Showers and Spring Freshness. One of my greatest joys is opening subscription box on it's arrival and seeing what's inside! My Subscription Corner Box was waiting for me when I came home from meeting a friend yesterday and of course I delved straight in.

Inside this month is a Rainwater Candle. Megan says "this month it has not stopped raining here in the Outer Hebrides" and the candle is a blend of woodland, powdery florals, blossom and fresh grass. It's fresh, floral and uplifting and I'm looking forward to lighting it.

The extra this month is a seedbom by Kabloom and inside is a mix of compost and wild seeds to create a patch of pastel blooms. I'm going to try it up at the allotment so watch this space!

Sandwick Bay Candles: Subscription Corner: March: Blood Orange

I picked my Sandwick Bay Candles Subscription Corner Box from the post office on a cold and dark Edinburgh morning on the latter half of last week. It fair lifted my spirits. The scent this month is Blood Orange and inside is a deliciously slightly sweet-slightly bitter uplifting orange scented candle. It's a beauty and I'm excited to spend March with it!

February: Lately I've Been Loving

Here's my February loves:

Discovering and trying gorgeous Lind & Lime Gin which is distilled in Leith, Edinburgh. I love the bottle and the gin's stunning with lime, pink peppercorn and juniper botanicals to name a few. It's the very first spirit created by the Port of Leith Distillery Co and you can read more about the gin HERE.

February's Sandwick Bay Candles Subscription Corner box was my favourite yet. The theme for February was Wild Roses and Chocolate. See my thoughts HERE.

Picking up this gorgeous handcrafted soap (which looks almost good enough to eat!) from Edinburgh based Eira Soaps at Cahoots in Portobello. I'm looking forward to using it and a review will follow.

Again, on our recent trip to Leith - at Leith Market and FLUX I chose these lovely treats. 

I've been receiving some great book post* and I can't wait to read Lesley Kelly's new A Health of Strangers Thriller and catching up with old friends in Death at the Plague Museum (I also liked the "tablets" to ward off the virus - chuckles). I'm taking part in the blog tour in April so keep your eyes peeled for my review then.

Sandwick Bay Candles: Subscription Corner: February: Wild Roses

February's Sandwick Bay Candles Subscription Box is my absolute favourite so far! (though I recollect saying this last month too...)

Wild Roses is exactly how you'd imagine a bouquet of wild roses to smell. Gloriously floral and rosy! 

The extras this month (a subscription costs £22 a month) are two tealights which smell exactly like bubblegum! And a chocolate hand-painted heart from Cocoamester.

Sandwick Bay Candles: Subscription Corner: January: Cucumber, Ginger & Mint

My January Sandwick Bay Candle Subscription arrived at the beginning of the month. This month it's a delicious blend of Cucumber, Ginger and Mint which is refreshing and uplifting. The extra this month is a Mint Soap from Little Duckling Soaps which smells gorgeous.

The last few months the candles have been fairly sweet (but deliciously scented) so it was great to get something different for January. In October, we got creamy and sweet Toasted Marshmallow, in November, creamy & almost edible Salted Caramel. December saw us get Roasted Chestnut, another sweet and slightly spicy one with vanilla & chestnut notes (I didn't end up having time to review this one in December due to being on holiday for 2 weeks and then going straight into Christmas). Our extras were a Christmas decoration saying Merry Christmas in Gaelic from Sarah at Lewisian Nice.  There was a second treat in December, a tiny Christmas themed cookie from Rebecca at Honeywell Biscuit Co.

Sandwick Bay Candles: Subscription Corner: November: Salted Caramel

I picked up my Sandwick Bay Candle subscription from my neighbours the other day. This month our Subscription Corner treat is Salted Caramel (and honestly the candle is good enough to eat - though Megan warns us not to!) A rolling subscription costs £22 a month and inside is a 260gm candle and an extra treat which corresponds with the candle scent.

I love the attention to detail and the gorgeous packaging - your own personalised box (your name is on the top - see my photo last month).

The salted caramel bar was totally scrumptious and didn't last long! I did however keep a little bit for hubby! It was the perfect addition to this month's box - rich, delicious, sweet and creamy with a delicious crunchy salt note - see the ranges available at Cocoa Mester HERE - I'll definitely be making a purchase soon!

The candle itself is simply stunning - rich, sweet and almost edible with a sliver of saltiness (I burned it for the first time on Saturday night) and now while writing this post on Sunday evening can still smell the delicious carmel sweetness.

Sandwick Bay Candles: Subscription Corner: October: Toasted Marshmallow

The monthly subscription by Sandwick Bay Candles has been on my radar for a while - this month I took the plunge and signed up! (it costs £22 a month including a beautiful personalised gift box and postage & packing and you can cancel at anytime). Sign up HERE.

As this month was my first one I got a lovely and unexpected welcome gift - a candle wick trimmer (I've always wanted one of these!) You also get a very informative note regarding your subscription and the goodies inside.

As well as your candle you get an extra treat and this month it's a s'more from Katy Cloud Marshmallows and yes it was delicious as well as being the perfect complement to this month's toasted marshmallow candle.

The 100% natural soy wax candle is presented in a glass jar with label and it smells glorious - sweet, creamy and almost edible!  The candles are hand made with love and care by founder Megan in Stornoway in the Outer Hebrides. You can see my previous review of their Chai Latte Candle HERE.

I think this subscription makes a nice change from beauty and I can't wait to see what next month brings!

Sandwick Bay Candles: Chai Latte Candle

I came across Megan and her beautiful candles on Twitter. Being a lover of hand crafted soy wax candles I went over to the website for a look and being a Chai tea fan I couldn't resist a Chai Latte candle which is a blend of spices including cinnamon and clove with black tea and vanilla. It smells just as good as the real thing!

The candles are handmade with love and care in small batches in Stornoway in the Outer Hebrides. They are made with 100% natural soy wax, premium fragrances and essential oils and have cotton wicks.

Flat rate UK postage is £3. I chose a small quilted kilner style jar (£8 - 20 hours burn time) which arrive well packaged in a branded drawstring bag (which would also make a great gift, if you can bear to part with it!) You can also buy 3 wick candles (£22), Large Glass Jar (£12), Large Travel Tin (£10), Small Travel Tin (£6), Wax Melts (£4) and Reed Diffuser (£17).
